After what happened at the ball, the fae sill decided to join in the plant hunt. Luckily she made it out alive, if barely. There were many casualties and deaths, it was a tragedy. However, that wouldn't deter her from helping out the elves after she heard about what had happened. It seemed that bad luck was plaguing the lands as of late. First there was some sort of disaster at the ball, and now this. It was unfortunate what had happened to their commander. Some strange creature, it seemed. It was surprising, but then again Eriu knew that there were many dangers that lurked in the lands, and this was probably just a coincidence after what happened. Though, it also infected elves? So, that means that it must have been around for a while then. But what if the human king was infected? Was that the reason why the ball went the way it did? Or what about here, there were many elves here too, was there an infected among them? It was certainly something to wonder.
But the cheerful fae didn't suspect anyone near her as she flew through the camp, past all the busy people. It seemed that she arrived on time at least, for they didn't leave without her. Though, she almost didn't come. When she came back to her house after the ball, Larkin was there, until one day she went out and didn't come back... What happened? She wondered. She was going to go out in search for her, but the girl was nowhere to be seen. She hoped that this plant didn't get to her. She had no idea where Felix was and all of it was confusing. However when she left to hunt the plant she left her doors open to them again, just in case. But, this was a danger that infected all the realms. It was important to make sure that it was defeated. Besides... Eriu always had a bad habit of making her visitors leave, she supposed. She decided to go adventuring, as she always did. It was more productive than sitting at home patiently waiting for them to come back anyway. Plus, if any of them did come back, her neighbors could probably explain where Eriu had gone. But she would be back when all of this was over.
Continuing through the camp, she stopped and fluttered onto the ground as she caught the sight of a woman, a dark one riding a creature that looked like a horse but didn't seem quite. Nearing closer, Eriu looked at it curiously. She hasn't seen a beast like that in her lifetime. How could she be able to tame it? Was it friendly? Curiosity got the better of her as she continued to near, suddenly now standing very close to the mage and her mount. Though, she didn't see the dogs until it was too late, inching a bit too close that seemed to perturb them. Not knowing sure if they were friendly or not she jumped upward in surprise, her pink wings taking her off the ground almost unconsciously. "Ah! I'm sorry!" she exclaimed, looking down at them surprisedly. She didn't mean to frighten them... whatever they were. Her gaze turned back to the lady. "They're your... pets?" she asked, smiling strangely. Her gaze was brought back down at them again, wondering what they even were. They looked like they came out of a frightening tale about a swamp or something. Though they looked half-lizard in appearance, Eriu couldn't tell what it was. They just looked... bizarre. But not in an entirely bad way. Maybe they were nice animals.
"They look fascinating," she commented, smiling again as she looked at them and the horse. Yep, they did look interesting indeed. What were they? She wondered.

Coin. It was such a simple answer. His eyes lingered on the other strangers that came as she spoke, lighting on the dark skinned mage who rode up on a horse that was not simply a horse and with strange creatures at her sides. His brows furrowed in concern and caution. Mages. Mucking about where they shouldn't. He had liked Shaecayrn during their adventure in the islands but now? He was not sure where they stood. Their kindred appreciation for the earth's bounty was all that had tied them together with any fondness- and her awe at draconic kind. Now? He wasn't sure he liked the company she kept- in all his many, many years he had seen no creatures such as these except those transmuted by magic. He started to rise and go to her, to question, and then sank back to his seat as the mercenary sitting who had engaged him spoke again. Perhaps now was not the time.
"I haven't called it in yet." He answered her distractedly, shaking his head a little and the trail of his own thoughts. His eyes lingered equally on a fire-haired woman who seemed to be trying to stay on the edges of things, out of sight and out of mind. So many strange folk gathering for this hunt. He wondered if they would truly all be necessary. He would have offered help in tracking but he had no desire to show himself at the moment. He might have been able to find the thing through the earth though his magic had little to do with plants. But here were all people who he did not expect to like his kind and they might quite as quickly turn on him as accept his help.

She sat to one side, aloof, without dismounting. Her mount champed at his bit, nodding his head restlessly. For a few moments she simply watched, with Suma and Eitri more restless than the once-horse that she rode. They twisted and twined around each other in small flashes of green and brown scales, but aside from her semi-dramatic entrance, she caused no trouble. Not yet, at least. Perhaps, she had arrived a bit early. Nothing was happening yet, and she hadn’t caught sight of Orin. Obelisk had looked at her in a manner that said he might come speak, but then had become distracted…. And then moments later, a fae landed and stood near her. Too near. Shimmer frowned, not wishing to interact with a fae much. They were always so… mischievous, and she had no wish for any pranks. More so, so many of them were irritatingly happy, and with a life like her own, it simply made her want to set most of them on fire. The mage stopped herself from grumbling loudly and rudely, because, not long after the fae landed, Suma took offense. The green canine made a sound halfway between a hiss and a snarl, Eitri following with a snap that echoed through the air near them as their restlessness hit aggression. And the fae took flight, but remained, apologizing to the animals before addressing Shimmer. Dark eyes turned to regard her fully from the shadows of her hood, and Shimmer’s reply was slightly curt. ”No. Pets are most often useless, and I do not care to have useless things around. They are working animals, the equivalent of a guard dog, if you will.” Though each word was sharply pronounced, it came out as a longer response than she had intended. Suma let out a rattling his again, and Shimmer snapped an order at the two beasts in a guttural language, sounding almost half growl in her throat. The two animals stilled, haunches lowering to the ground as claws left rents in the dirt. Scaled tails slid across the ground like snakes as they looked around unhappily. Eriu Bloodworth

Rook watched the goings on below with little interest. Trying to patiently wait as everyone mingled like it was happy hour and the drinks were free. He didn't expect someone to actually come up to sit with him. But of course someone did. He openly glared at the merman who would climb up next to him. His jaw moving side to side as he ground his teeth together just trying to tolerate his presence. But then he scooted closer and Rook with a roll of his eyes surprisingly did the same.
He nodded as if accepting the stranger's words. "You know where the better view is?" He ask and leaned in, a conspirators whisper. "Down there." Suddenly Rook's arm would shoot out to give the man a hard shove off his branch. After clinging to the branch when it bounced from the sudden lost weight he took another swig of his wine. "See?" He called to the merman below. "Better right?"

She gave the Immortal commander a gentle nod in reply. It seemed she was set in doing things her way and that she did not want to seem a burden. Luiniel could respect that but even so she would be sure to allocate the extra supplies just as a precaution. " Be that as it may, you are always welcome to them. Any who would fight for my people are deserving of such a reward." she said. Many found the way she was towards outsiders too kind hearted, too trusting. She was sure there were those who would try and use it to see her undone. A sigh escaped her lips as the Lieutenant made her observation. She could not deny that it was correct, her soldiers knew well what it was they faced. The horrors of a creature that could control your very thoughts and turn brother against brother. What if the creature could control them all? What if it got it's hooks into her mind and seized control of an entire kingdom? " As should yours be. The thing we hunt is clever, resourceful. The things it can do to those who cannot guard against it are horrendous. Only one has survived to tell of it." she said. Luiniel was about to go on but it seemed like the commander wanted to say something. Niera Venrali

The commander had continued to inspect the map, devising a plan among his peers as they surrounded the table and came back and forth again. His head rose from the table, seeing the many that had gathered. He had already taken notice of the immortal lieutenant that had arrived with her forces, it was good to see that the immortals at least were willing enough to lend a hand. But as his eyes scanned the area, he noticed many that were not elf had come, most likely thanks to the offer for coin. His eyes closed as he shook his head. Oh boy, how much further in debt were the elves were going to be. But cost wasn't something he should be worried about at the moment, for he knew everyone would get their share once the beast was slain. Walking toward the center where the fire pit was he stood before amongst the crowd, and majority of the elf army had grown quiet, attentive as they knew he was getting ready to speak. Most of the other died down as well, the entire camp mostly silent in his presence. So far none had made any suggestions for a new or different tactic, but majority of them had just arrived. However, there was no time to waste. Immediately he would go in his with original drafted plan. "I know you are all gathered here today to defeat the plant. I promise you all coin but you all knew the risks signing up for this task. Now I will get into the strategy." He began to pace as he spoke of the battle tactics. "We will need to penetrate the center. Now I know that you think this creature may be infant in its size but it is much larger than that. Much larger than anything you could ever hope to imagine. And it may have infected elves fight by its side. Try to subdue them, but kill them only if you must." He continued on for a while longer. "We will have to create a gap between this monstrosity. If it is hiding within those very ruins it will have an advantage over us. We will have three groups, two that will head toward the ruins from the outside. They will be responsible for fighting the vines or whatever other dangers we encounter." Indeed it was terrifying to think, not even the commander knew what sort of danger lurked. "Each will attack from the center, however they will then divide and pull to the east and west, making way for the third force." His eyes stared out into the audience, looking suddenly more serious then. "They will need to be fast, and strong, and will need to strike fast. I will only take those most suited to fit. The others will hold the creature off until the third force defeats the creature from the center."The commander then walked around the camp, pointing to certain people, assigning them and their men to whatever group that he deemed best suited for them. He made his way first to the immortal lieutenant that seemed to be speaking with her majesty. "Lieutenant. I understand you brought your forces. You shall offer aid to the group that will branch to the west. Your grace, would you do the honor of leading the group that will lead east?" he bowed slightly to her as he spoke. He then moved across the crowd, designating more people within which groups they were placed in. He came across toward the back of the group, seeing a man and a woman sitting next to each other. The man seemed fit enough to be on the third forces, though the woman did not even look fit to even be a warrior. After speaking with her and seeing that she claimed that she could offer healing aid, he accepted that. "You will be on our third force," he spoke to the man. "And you shall aid the queen at the east side. Lest she fall she is your number one priority to heal do you understand that?" After hearing a yes he moved toward where the dark woman stood with a seemingly light colored fae that stood out much in contrast. At closer inspection he could see the shadows that clung to the mysterious woman. "You will also aid us in my force," he spoke to her. "You will also aid the queen," he nodded to the fae. Moving across the crowd once again he spotted the fiery-haired woman that seemed to stand out yet seemingly wanting to blend in. "You shall aid the immortal lieutenant to the west," he ordered, then moving along finally he stopped at the foot of the tree, staring up as he saw his soldier sitting high up, and a man that looks as though he had fallen from the very length. "Rook, with me," he said. Fire would help weaken it at its center. Bending over he offered the man a hand to help him up. "And you shall also assist the group to the west." When he was finished designating the groups, he stood before the fire once again. "Rest up. Tomorrow we leave at first light."The next day, all three groups headed out toward the ruins, following behind trackers that helped find the location. And it was the ruins they had found... (So fast forward to when they arrive toward the ruins. I have set up the groups upon which from where they will attack. But they have yet to actually reach the building, so the groups can decide what to do, get to know each other, etc. But the two groups (east and west) will go in first, then branch out later to make the gap for the third group.) The shadow-kissed mage had eyed the elven commander with trepidation, but the man, so far, had made no comment upon the oddities of her animals or herself. Though resentment rippled through her at being given an assignment, even if it was as part of the backup group, at least she knew who she would be expected to not kill now. Shimmer made eye contact with those in her group long enough to acknowledge them, a small nod sent to Obelisk, before she spent the night in quiet isolation. With a strange horse and two canines that hovered at her heels as soon as they touched the ground, she was not precisely a welcoming woman.
They took off at first light, an hour with which the woman was rather familiar. Simply to make it easier for herself and everyone else, she had kept herself separate, and even as she rode she did not welcome anyone near. Indeed, it seemed only Obelisk was gifted with a look that was not hostile, and conversation, if it started at all, was given short and curt replies.
She didn't pay attention to how long she rode in the back ground. At some point, Suma and Eitri came back from a small excursion into the forest with blood upon their fangs, and she could only surmise that they had caught something to fill their stomachs with. Her mount was restless under her, but calmed with her firm hand upon the reins. Eventually, the ruins came into sight, and their group halted. Suma and Eitri twined around her horse's legs, scales flashing in the light that would not take long to dim. The sun was already past its peak.
Staring ahead, Shimmer recalled her last encounter with the plant, the temptation it had offered. A small smirk came upon her lips as she ran her fingers through the beads in her braids. She had found the path of Change that would turn her into something greater, longer lasting, perhaps immortal. No longer would the plant's offer hold any temptation for her. Even if nothing else went right, she would be able to save herself.
Idly, her gaze turned to the man who had been placed in charge, watching him as they waited for some signal.

Rook looked down and listened intently as orders were given. Nodding when the commander gave him his specifically. He was to stay near the commander, or at least for now. He slept in the same tree he had crouched in and come morning he grabbed the reins to the mount he had borrowed for this excursion. As they rode he observed those nearest him. The dark mage with the strange creatures particularly drew his eye. He didn't trust her, but there were few he did. He did plan to keep a watchful eye on her as the hunt progressed. Hopefully, she would be an asset and not someone who would end up making the problem larger.
He looked over at the mage and spoke. "Can you make fire?" Not a hello, how are you, nothing like that. He didn't care how her day had been. What her name might be. All he cared about was what she could do.

She was half lost in thought, following the group almost on autopilot as they moved around or stopped. Her mount was as restless as ever, but well in control, and she seemed just as happy to keep it away from them as anyone else seemed to be to keep away from it. It was not only Rook who kept a cautious gaze upon her, but she didn't really care about that either. They would be dead and gone long before her life was over. But even as she contemplated the great many changes she would make to her world, Rook's voice interrupted her thoughts, and a dark glower turned upon the man. Not only was it an interruption, but it was a rude one at that. Silently, she reminded herself that she would have been just as irritated by a greeting, polite small talk, and filler conversation. At least this ruffian was straight to the point. And unlike some of the last men she had met, he didn't seem inclined to great bouts of sarcasm. Fine. After a short breath, she answered Rook with the same sort of tone that he had asked it with. "I can create anything that we need. Fire will only send the creature into flight. It must become trapped first, unless you intend to use flame to trap it." There, that wasn't so hard, was it? Only it was. She hated talking to people, and she had even less want to explain her abilities to anyone, or her knowledge of the plant, or anything else. Falling silent, she stroked her mount's sinuous neck and took a deeper breath of the cool air. Rook Thriasi

The Queen:
Naive in a way that was perhaps befitting to a ruler of the elven nation, Luinel offered reward for the aid of the immortal nation where none was required and the immortals would take none. Only then the immortal lieutenant realised that the fear that lingered her men, was also reflected deep within the queen's own heart. Quiet in the face of the commander's words, the Lieutenant listened carefully to the warnings that were offered. If elven men were truly turned or infected by the wrath of this bizarre creature, then they would need to form a defensive ready for anything. Elves were powerful by nature, able to manipulate elements of power that could even rival immortal magics. Assigned to the west side to distract the creature's giant tendrils, the lieutenant watched the commander with a deadpan expression as he assigned the several positions to the other units. The beloved elven Queen was given the East and she the west; they would be the cushion to allow the knife to fall. Also given the order to join the western front were two other figures, a man with muscles that looked as if he were built to feel take on a world of pain and woman with fiery red features. In her heart of hearts Niera wished that her own commander were her to assist her in this situation. Even her own men gave her little in the way of sound comfort. " There is a difference between underestimating your enemy and fearing them my lady," the Lieutenant had waited for the commander to finish, she had not yet done with the Queen. Warmth re-entered the blonde leader's expression " Will you speak with me more privately when the sun sets in the west? There are other things I should like to discuss." Luiniel Ashwin (OOC: I will PM you.) Later That Evening:
Gathered around a small fire, Niera had cooked up a hearty meal using a doe her company had hunted, preserved in salt and hauled all the way from the grasslands. Carefully spiced with foreign herbs collected from the rare corners of the reaches, the Lieutenant had taken the time to honour her soldiers and the people who fought beside her. This could have been the last meal for any of them and she wanted to celebrate that finality. Stood stirring the stew in the vibrant light of the crackling fire, she could hear the merry sounds of her squadrons laughter. Proud to be a part of a unit that believed in themselves as much as she believed in their capabilities, the Lieutenant herself could feel the joy mustering beneath breast. Moments like these were ones of family, to be together, to cherish and make a plan of action to sort out a problem. Joining them, their comrades on the west side - Gertrude and Seymour. Both invited to join dining in the slightly foreign but well cooked meal that Niera had to provide, this was the time for her to talk to her men and form a plan. " Thank You Sir," the last soldier politely bowed his head. There was enough stew left over for a few rounds of seconds. " You're welcome Lochren," the immortal lieutenant acknowledged, taking her own bowl to join them. " So what's the deal with this creature then?" Niera had only just seated herself when Callahan piped up from behind his bowl to address his Lieutenant. Not even allowed a moment to ingest a bite of her own meal the Lieutenant nodded solemnly and set her bowl aside. " We're going to have to take it easy. As little plate in this venture as possible, you're going to need mobility. Callahan, Lochren, Vaylen, Dorian, Damien, Mordhel, Oiya, Ellia - you will be on the vines. Stay in groups of two, try to stay close and draw the attention of at least once vine and be prepared to duck out the way of anything it might throw at you. Vraxus, Cyan, Troy, Akran, Lumiere, Kalos, Bahn and Froid you will be working to keep away the elven advances that have been infected by these creatures. Mythos and Braxel you will defend Nyra and Thorath while they tend the wounded." Pausing to wait for her men to understand the plan that was offered the them, the Lieutenant's eyes scanned over the troop " Seymour and Gertrude are free to join any front they wish. If anything goes wrong or catches us by surprise, which it will. Then at that stage Mythos and Braxel will break off with me while Thorath becomes the last line of the medical defence... This will be hard, but remember you are capable. If we're going to get out of this alive we've got to give this everything we've got with a clear head. Do not let the others scorn you because of the fear that lingers in their hearts. We are not underestimating our enemy. We are expecting to be surprised and to be ready for any circumstances that might arise. Remember your training, trust each other. A calm mind will allow your reactions to be quicker, panic will only kill you." The men nodded, smiling with a collected confidence in both themselves and their superior. Niera's eyes flickered to the strangers that were or were not present at their gathering. She had no doubt they had their own ideas about what they were able to do and how they would best work with the situation. Each of her men had been picked for their talents just as she had. It was the skill sets of the strangers that joined them that remained a mystery and they were not obligated to share. " Another thing," she began, picking up her stew " You're all going to be wearing rags over your mouths and nose. I'm not going to risk you all inhaling some sickness from spores or fungi." A cold chill clung to the morning air as the muffled groans of the elven army filled the space with groggy, mournful discomfort. Possibly considered one of the more rowdy of the camps, the immortals however were fit and readying for combat. Masked with thick pieces cloth provided by their lieutenant, the men did as ordered and wore it over their faces. While breathing might well have been trickier, the risk of loosing her men to a poison was not something she was willing to risk. Niera had prepared her medical kit, morning star, bow, shield and a batch of herbal tea. Prayer was all that she had to do now. In fear of the disdain of their superior the men were quick to organise themselves and using what was left over of the cooked meat, took portions for breakfast before saying goodbye to their horses. The animals were too large to bring into the combat and a far too large of a target for Niera to risk. Time was of the essence, eager to carry on the Lieutenant went to check on the Lady Gertrude and Sir Seymour individually before moving out, just as with any of her soldiers she wanted to make sure their basic needs were well kept. His pale eyes lingered on the dark woman for several moments after she spoke. Eventually, a slight tilt of his head was given. "Fair enough." He said then turned his attention back to their front. It was strange. One moment he was riding a horse. The next he was tearing through a forest, fear running rapidly through his veins. They were coming. It was the only thought he could process. He had to run. Too many. Too Soon. It was as if were hit in the face, the reality smacking into him as he was once again on his horse. A location he had never even left. His breathing was faster now, his brow normally wrinkled was now furrowed with worry.
What the hell was that? The plant? Something else? Ives? He said it was still alive inside him. Rook looked around his quickly, somewhat relieved that he didn't see anyone huddled over their mounts as they were pulled into some strange vision. He didn't know what was going on but he suddenly had a very bad feeling about what they were running headlong into...

Seymour continued to go with the flow, however he got much less action than he expected... Well, it wasn't the certain kind of action he was searching for. However, luckily for him his mercenary band got split with him, into the other group with the Elf Queen, much to his pleasure. Though they seemed disappointed in that. However, they each made their own way, traveling with their respective groups as they made their way toward the temple. He didn't really listen much to the orders given, but he thought that the immortal woman looked interesting indeed. He tried to skip up to her on the way there, however he was always pulled back in line much to his dismay. Though, he tried flirting with the other soldiers there, they didn't seem interested but he didn't take it to heart. In his mind they were just shy on sharing their feelings with him. Poor elves.
When the lady herself approached him and the other fiery red-haired woman, he looked at her contentedly as he wore the cloth that was given to him, around his neck like a scarf. It looked nice as it matched his dreadlocks that were tied nicely in back, and his outfit as well. He didn't know what he was given it for. To cover over the mouth? How unfashionable. Though when she approached he reached to kiss her hand, if she didn't pull away fast enough in time.
"My lady, dear Lieutenant Immortal..." he started, not knowing her name but eyes drifted up to her. "I am ready whenever you are," he said confidently, with a suaveness that only held other intentions unrecognized by most.

It had been a long ways here, but the three groups had finally made it. Oceane didn't mind serving as a medic for the Queen's group, for that seemed like a relatively easy task for there were many medics coming along as well. Many seemed to be devoted to their queen, and she looked on at them as they walked with admiration. She remembered having that same feeling, of wanting to protect the monarch. With their very life. Until their final breath. But how quickly it could go away to power. But she didn't doubt that they would be unable to protect her from this danger. It seemed that all the troops were all gathered here. In fact, what a perfect time to ambush Aelfmenn and take over the kingdom, she thought. Or even to rob their precious resources maybe. But, under the treaty they have protection under the other races. But she thought that maybe she should've mentioned this to the captain. It would have been the perfect opportunity to plunder one of their riches at least. Maybe there was something valuable in the Grand Library they could have taken. Oh well. Nevertheless, they might have been caught anyway, and the captain much preferred the sea over land, and that was understandable. Oceane herself felt much the same way. She dismissed the thought of bringing it up to him even after this was all over, after all she was getting coin from doing this. She should just be grateful for that. Sighing, she stopped only for a moment, before continuing to walk as her head faced at the leafy ground below. Her boots crunched along the grass and plants, just wondering how long it would take before they finally reached their destination.
Once they arrived the three groups seemed to have split, devising their own plans as they wondered what to do and when each will set out. Her blue eyes averted to the ancient building that sat across. Old, dark crevasses made the perfect place for hiding, for a creature as they described. It looked rather foreboding, she thought inwardly. Well, to others. She wasn't afraid much of it however. She had killed many. And she doubted she would be anywhere near the front lines as a mere helper. Oceane suddenly looked up as someone approached, handing her two slightly damp towels and placed them into her hands. "Give these to the Queen," an elf soldier told her, then marched away leaving her holding them in her hands. She looked down at them as she made her way closer to the Queen, who no doubt was the one most decorated that stood out amongst the crowd, surrounded by her own men. Once she reached her Oceane handed her the towels.
"They are for you," she offered, not really sure whether to look her in the eye but she did so anyway. It was hard to find respect for royalty who was not your own, however the pirate didn't hold anything against her. In fact, she looked at her because she was curious about her. What was this queen like? Was she someone similar to the queen she had served so many years ago...? But then she realized that she herself did not even know what the towels were for. Her eyes gazed down abruptly. "To wash before the battle," she said, eyes moving to the side slightly, making it up on a whim. Though she assumed that's what they were for. And just as quickly as she had come Oceane disappeared back into the crowd, gliding backwards with grace.

It was time.
Orin had made his way through the forest. This was it. It was time to make his appearance seen. After all of these years in hiding, he could no longer prevent the others from lacking the knowledge about the plant that he had. His staff tapped up and down as it beat along the brush and dirt below, his attire drifting across as it was relatively longer than usual. Black and green as per normal, however there seemed to be something more... ceremonial about him. Maybe it was the fact that his war paint was on, or maybe that branches hung closely to his chest. Either way, he looked ready for battle as ever. But his footsteps were quiet, as they headed in the direction of the travelers. He could see the horses marching by from the gaps between the leaves of the trees and bushes. As he neared closer, he took extra precaution, his careful eyes glancing at them. He knew that they would be here. He foresaw every single detail that would take place here. They were no match for that beast. For what it could do. The potential it had. They had no idea...
He crouched, watching between the blades of leaves as their shadows fell over his face, dark eyes matching as they carefully inspected the hunters. He saw in the back was what appeared to be the third group, and if he guessed correctly, they were the ones that were going to face the plant up close. It was deadly, and before they would know it they too would be infected before fighting the two other groups, which would be the plant's plan all along. It was two steps ahead, it was no longer a mindless beast that they once knew. It had changed. No, it had evolved. Something into something incredibly more intelligent, much like a fellow elf or other race. But, the more he looked into the plant from the earth, it didn't seem to much other different than the other races... Really, what made them different than the animal...? No, he had to push those thoughts aside. He couldn't think about that now, no matter how long those thoughts had plagued him. He remembered what it said to him. That it had saw him there. At the Council. What did it all mean...?
But still, it was his responsibility to stop it from further harming these elves, no, everyone. In time, it will change and destroy everything what made them, them. Pushing aside the leaf he was hiding behind, the wanderer made his way to the front of the third group, in front of the commander riding on his horse as his eyes widened, immediately recognizing the dark-clothed elf standing in front of them but letting the other two groups make way behind him.
"Stop." It was so simple. Just a single word. An even tone of voice. Many of the elves appeared to be surprised by his appearance, and the commander called the rest of his line of warriors to halt. There was much murmuring and whispering in the group. Most of them knew who he was. "It's the previous Lore Keeper..." a loud whisper was audible within the group of soldiers. Orin stood there, gazing upon them ever so somberly. He continued to wait, however he took another step forward, facing the commander. "You will need my aid. I have come to extend it."
But the previous Lore Keeper had gone missing. So much explanation needed yet none had asked. What information he had just stated. Orin's gaze reached the bearded elf. The one that he had seen many times. Then his eyes slid to Shaecayrn. He was fortunate that she would return to defeat the plant once and for all.

His hand wavered slightly, held out to his side, high enough for his charges to see. It had felt a millennia since this Keeper had last been seen. Gripping tight to the reins in his right fist, the commander leaned forward, his boots hitching in their stirrups. "Yes... I would expect no less," he replied, curt and equally to the point. Whatever Orin truly had to say he would get out of him, be it in a moment or two. He would not let this mission be in vain, not after all of the losses they'd already suffered, and those they were surely to face from this point on. If he offered true assistance, then he would be a fool to turn him away. Moving his head aside, Talen also cast his gaze over those waiting behind him. He gestured to one of the elves in the back, beckoning him forward with a curl of his finger. "Your horse." He shifted his mismatched eyes to the next elf over. "Allow him to share your seat." The two nodded in acquiescence and the young elf brought forth his mount with a paleness in his cheeks. Talen offered him an appreciative nod in return.
Gesturing to the waiting gelding, Talen watched the ghost of a man. "Please." His insistence was clear. It was time to move. He could feel his own mount getting restless, and if the horses were getting antsy, he could only imagine what that meant for his following. Their apprehension for this endeavor had been made crystal clear from the start, and he would be lying if he denied the way it made his own skin crawl. The longer they waited, the harder it was going to be. They must continue onward. Conveying this need through his eyes, Talen released a subtle breath of relief when the elf climbed up. He nudged his horse back into a walk, resisting the urge to push it further into a canter. Doing so would make up for lost time, but it would also take away his chances of speaking more with Orin.
"Do you know anything of this creature?" he asked, after a long moment of pensive silence broken only by the sound of nervous murmurs and steady gaits. The squeak of armor was a gentle comfort in the back of his mind. His clouded gaze cut over to the dark-haired elf, sticking there like it'd been caught in a gravitational pull. "Your announcement back there seemed to suggest yes."
