Orin ForstUzochi wasn't sure whether or not if he should have left the academy by himself, but at this point, it was way to late to turn back. He did however, told a couple of his friends that he would be out in the Duskmire Woods. Hopefully, that was enough information for them if something ever happened to him. The time was around 16:30, but he wasn't completely sure. In fact, he thought it was a little later in the day. Anyway, what Uzochi was trying to find was a statuette of the goddess of nature. He had been looking for something to help with the growing of his herbs and spices and perhaps on a larger scale for the school. After learning about the statuette in class, Uzo was dead set on finding it, and harnessing the power of the nature goddess. Dressed in a green toga with a flower crown that he made himself, Uzo made his way through the forest. He made sure not to draw too much attention to himself or disturb the nature that was around him. In his hand was a map of the area of forest he was at. The ruins of the gentle goddess should be coming up in the next 700 feet due East. Gods, help him.

Shrouded in darkness, the dark-clothed elf stood amongst the foggy banks of the woods, within the violet and grey clouds which concealed him from sight, even his own. Trudging through the marsh with tall black boots, the lower half of his cloak was soaked in swampy water and mud. It smelled of murkiness, a cold dampness that filled his nose, one that displeased him. It wasn't often he had come here to Duskmire. However he had done so because he thought the plant might be here, so close to where Shaecayrn resided he presumed. It was a faint vision, one that foretold that it may or may not be in this area, so it was hazy. He did not know where she would have gone after the ball, after the chaos that had happened with the mages and werebeasts. He was not present for the entire thing and indeed got lost amongst the frantic crowds, however he did find it surprising that such an act was not caused by the very evil being he had been on the lookout for. But he knew that it was still out there, just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And he could not let it bring harm to the woman that he had gone hunting with prior. They were so close to defeating it, and she was the only other one that knew about it as far as he was concerned.
He continued along the way of the marsh, it wasn't even evening yet, however he was still searching his way through the darkness, trying to see where he was going. Emerging from the misty area, he soon broke into a clearing, fresh air accompanied by the afternoon sunlight. It was quite refreshing amongst the trees, however they were dark in color. He breathed in the less damp air, and continued to walk along his way until he heard a noise. It must be the plant. It had to be. Turning his head abruptly, narrowed dark eyes glared in that direction. He did not make a sound, and his fingers curled more tightly against his lance. Suddenly, then he stepped forward.
"I know you are there. Show yourself," he called, seemingly into the silent woods.

Uzo paused when he heard someone's voice. It honestly scared the living daylights out of him. His attention immediately came to a figure that looked scary as hell.
"Uh...hi." Uzochi gave him a friendly wave before slowly putting his arm back down. He stared at him for a bit longer before asking, "d-d-do you know where the Flora and Fauna ruin is? In dedication to the nature goddess?" He asked politely. The last thing he wanted to do is possibly piss off the guy and make things worse for himself. With a gulp, he tried to compliment him. "Nice...clothes."

Orin looked at him with surprise. Not to find a plant here but a man wearing green clothing and... a flower crown. His eyes then softened, however his expression then returned to its seriousness, inspecting the stranger with continued somber. "I do not," he answered the question. However, if this person was here then he may as well be in danger as well, looking for a ruin he said? That was far off priority than he should be concerned about his own safety. He continued to glare at him, however probably it seemed quite intimidating coming from the wanderer. He then began, walking near as he took a step forward, his lance tapping onto the soft ground below.
"You should turn back," he warned. "There is a great danger here and I cannot assure your safety." He then stopped not too far away from him, continuing to look at him with a raised chin, dark orbs pointed at him directly. "I know not of your ruin but I promise you, it is not greater than what you are venturing into." He kept his tone leveled, however what he said was cryptic. He probably seemed much like the woman that lived here. However, perhaps this one would heed his words, if he was reasonable of a man.

Okay, that did scare Uzochi. Though, he did come here for a reason and he didn't want to turn back empty handed. After all, he did rant and rave to a small group of his friends about the prospect of bringing back the statuette. Uzo glanced around the forest and thought about whether or not he should continue. After all, the man couldn't stop him, right?...Right?
"Well...maybe you can make an exception? Or perhaps escort me to the ruin? I promise I will not disturb anything." Uzo cleared his throat and gently moved his floral crown upward so that it wasn't in his line of vision. The outfit he was wearing was in honor of the nature goddess. He felt as if it was the most appropriate thing to wear.

Orin stared at him for a moment. Yep, the plant would shred the flowers that sat on his head to pieces then infect the poor man. Well, if anything he could leave him be, but he should follow anyway, if he wished to go then he would be surely attacked. Orin needed to know where the plant was anyway, if it was here. Though if he could prevent another infection then he would try to stop it at all costs. Otherwise he would have just let the man be. He then gestured with his lance, which probably looked more like a staff except with its bladed edge at its end, to where the man was facing. "Go on then," he said.
"I will follow. But as I said before. I cannot ensure your safety." And it was true. He couldn't. Though, this was probably better anyway. Were he with Shimmer then the plant may avoid him. But if it detected someone new, then perhaps it would come not knowing that Orin was expecting him. It was a clever plan indeed, although he felt sorry for the sort that he was now using as bait. Nevertheless, he would follow him if he began to walk. Continuing in silence, the wilds were dead silent all around. Not one creature called, not one sound of any movement made amongst the trees. It was eery. Though as he walked he noticed that the man did not have pointed ears, so obviously he was not an elf. He wondered what he was, though he decided it was best not to pry.

The young mage let out a sigh of relief when the man agreed to escort him to the ruins. With a warm smile, he walked over to him and offered his hand. "I'm...Uzochi." He gave him an even wider smile. Uzo knew that it was only polite to do this. After all, the man had agreed to go with him. After the handshake, Uzochi let go and started walking. He could tell that the handshake held caution to it, but thankfully, he did.
As they walked through the forest, he looked over at the man every now and then. He studied the side of his face and decided to ask a very personal question, "are you a fae? If you don't me asking."

He continued to stare at him gravely. "Orin," he replied curtly, not recognizing the name of the man. Which was good to hear, perhaps he would not know of Orin's once high place considering that he was not an elf. As they continued to walk through the woods then, a question came from him that caused Orin to stop entirely, looking at him with what seemed to be disgust. A fae? Did it look as if he had wings? All the way out here in Duskmire Woods, where the fae hardly ever ventured? He could not guess an elf? Orin was taken aback by this, however he tried to not let it show on his face as it resumed to its usual seriousness.
"No," he answered. It was short and low in tone, however as they continued walking he did not like the silence of the whole woods. If anything perhaps they should make more sounds, as to attract the plant to their direction. He looked around slightly before focusing his attention back to him as they paced. "I am an elf. And what are you? My guess is that you are not from here." Especially not looking like that. It was so different from what Shaecayrn wore, or what anyone wore in these woods for that matter. He looked as though he were going to some religious festival in the Dryhtwood Forest. It was a wonder how he was able to keep the marshy terrain at bay.

When given the answer, Uzochi wanted to give himself a face-palm. Of course he was an elf! Why in the underworld would he think that Orin was a fae?! He didn't have wings! "Sorry, I mean elf. I do not know where my mind is today." He chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his neck. He hoped that he didn't come off as too much of an idiot. Uzo made it his duty to learn about the other creatures that weren't like himself.
"As for me? I'm a mage." He hoped that went over well with Orin. "I practice invocation. He added that tidbit of information just in case Orin was interested. As they moved through the woods, Uzochi made sure to observe the area around him. He wondered if Orin lived in the forest. That would be cool if he did.

He continued to look on as they walked, listening to him speak as the leaves shaded them from the sky above. So far there was no sign of the plant. He made nothing of his comment, however he then looked at him once he spoke of his race. A mage. Well, this place seemed to be popular for mages then. Especially considering the fact that Shaecayrn was one. He continued to walk however at the note of his power Orin tilted his head in slight interest, his eyes somewhat amused. Invocation. The invocation of what, he wondered. He was silent for a moment as his attention focused forward on their direction, but then he spoke.
"What sort of invocation?" he asked, eyes moving to him again, a hint of intrigue. He wouldn't have asked for it wasn't to distract the plant, but who knows, maybe it wouldn't be here after all. Though, he couldn't be certain. But he was curious. He had the power of the earth, something which he valued greatly.

"The gods," he answered simply, "either through hymns, mantras, totems, statuettes,-- I can do it." Sort of. He was still new to the whole "invocation" thing since he was a late bloomer. A pro of that is being able to research more about what he was capable of and how he could affect the natural world around him. "It's very interesting in my opinion," he shrugged his shoulders and looked over at the forest off to his left. It did make him feel a bit afraid, but he was sure that the elf of the woods would protect him from any harm.
"W-What about you? What can you do?"

His eyebrows rose in interest. The gods could he? Now that was very interesting, for the elves had an element that came from one of the gods themselves, or so they believed. Orin continued to follow, listening for anything near them however it was just the silence of the forest, but now he thought he could hear the sounds of the bog off in the distance. Then he was asked about what he could do. He may as well answer, for their powers may not be so different in the end.
"I have the magic of abacomancy. It allows me to gain insight through the earth," he said, eyes focused forward. Where was this ruin where he was heading? Perhaps that was the very reason why this man was heading there. To gain access to his powers further? But for what purpose? It allowed some room for suspicion, however he did not view him as a threat. Yet, anyway. Still, he was curious as to what it was he could do with powers given to him by the gods. And he found it most curious due to the fact that he was a mage, a race that had no supposed history with connection to the gods unlike some of the other races. Although, he did not ask and just continued to follow in silence.
