Immortals

(Immortals will have a posting requirement. Your first Immortal is free but to get a second immortal you must reach 50 posts with the first. And if you want a third then the first two must have at least 50 posts each, ect.)


From the beginning.... 
No one really knows when the first immortal came about or how. But since these people have spread across the lands. Some sharing their wisdom with others and some simply enjoying their eternal life in any way they desire. Immortal people are known to move faster and swifter than their mortal counterparts. Their strength isn't much different from the average human but they have a grace to them without even trying. 

Immortals can only die or injury or disease. Their bodies do not age or run down, but this isn't to say their minds aren't affected by the years of watching those they cared for disappear or fade away. Immortal beings chose when to stop aging, up to that point they age at the speed of a human. The spring that provides their immortality is known (of course) as the Spring of Immortality it is near the Immortal Kingdom . Something in the physiology of immortals is different from other races for if a human or elf (or being of any other race) were to drink from the spring it would be nothing more than a crisp drink of water. But for immortals it serves to freeze the aging process. Keep in mind once an immortal has sipped from the spring they can never age again. Choose wisely.

Immortals are also gifted with an ability, perhaps it is the trade off for releasing their mortal toils. Some gifts are wonderful and some immortals can turn into healers or bend an element to their will. But some immortals will wish they never drank from the spring for their 'gifts' are truly more a curse. The ability will only come after drinking from the spring, and on occasion an immortal will chose not to drink. Those beings will perish just as any human at the end of their life.

The immortals were a part of the war between the races, their greatest adversary turned out to be the Dwarves. They agreed to to the treaty but people who live forever don't let go of grudges easily....


Appearance

Immortals appearance can vary as much as humans. Immortals will always retain an almost graceful feel to them no matter what their appearance is like.


Magic

Those who drink from the spring to stop their aging are 'gifted' with an ability or power. It could be something like controlling water or healing, or even something more sinister. But Immortals can only have one ability. Such as if your character controls fire they could not also control water, ect.
