Magical Ability:
Immortals: Elysia commands the dead. Only their bodies answer her call, not their minds. Those she raises are like the Mindless- passive under her will but violent if she lets them go without laying them to rest. She can even take control of Undead who have become Mindless though it is more difficult. She has never tested her magic against the intelligent Undead though the temptation is always there. Likely it would be a contest of wills. Her gift is limited- the longer a body has been dead, the harder it is to raise. The most she has ever raised at one time was a dozen, but all of them freshly dead and it had been a toll on her to keep them active for as long as she had. Desperate times though.

Appearance:
Elysia looks like what she is- royalty. There can be no question that she is a woman born to power. Her fashion choices often direct the trends of the court so she always seems to be just a bit ahead of trend. She likes to make daring, provocative choices in dress. Her body is as much a weapon as her mind and magic and she is careful to keep it that way. She drank from the spring in her early twenties but there is a weight of age around her eyes that cannot be denied. Her hair is dark, honey blonde and seems almost metallic against the pale porcelain of her skin. Her eyes are pale golden brown, with a speck of burgundy floating in the iris.

Personality:
Elysia is a hard woman. She has ruled her kingdom in her husband's absence during wars and to this day the good of her people is at the forefront of her mind. Before husband, before children, before herself. She has a reputation for shrewdness and practicality. She does not allow people to dismiss her, not even her husband. She seems fearless before the eyes of many, willing to brave any danger to pursue whatever course of action she believes in. She is intense and strategic, with a habit for playing the long game. When she must she can play the part of the good wife, passively supporting her husband, but the role chafes her. She is better suited to being a lioness than a mouse.

History:
The Titaia family did well for themselves in the War and their reputation as skilled tacticians and soldiers was the stuff of legends. Elysias's father and four elder brothers were all exceeding skilled commanders. The family had long been close with royalty- her mother had even had a brief affair with the old king at one point. Being the only daughter, Elysia began life very much as a tom boy. She learned to ride astride, shoot, and weild a sword. She made fast friends with the young Justus, growing up close alongside him, playing games with the common lads and sharing in his troubles.

As she began to blossom towards womanhood, her mother began to take her more firmly in hand. She learned to dance, to court, and to manage a household. As she became a young woman, her lessons expanded into the sciences, philosophy, history, politics, geography. Her mother often despaired of making a lady of her but in the end Elysia took to it with the same fervor that had characterized her as a child. She never completely let the skills of her childhood fall away, continuing to ride out with Justus and spar with her brothers.

Her marriage to Justus was no real surprise. She had been reared with it in mind and she firmly believes that her parents even encouraged their early friendship to make the marriage more suitable. It would make sense to her. It was a good alliance of powerful houses and Elysia believed that she could help to temper some of Justus's recklessness. While he was at war, she took the kingdom firmly in hand. She lost her father and two of her brothers to the war, and her mother to grief. She never tried to fill those holes in her life.

While delighted to provide the king with an Heir, Elysia was not and is not suited to be a mother. She detested pregnancy and was more than happy to hand the infant off to nannies and governesses while she went back to running her kingdom. She has been trying, since he became an adult, to close the gap between them but it is awkward. She doesn't really know how and it is hard for her to acknowledge that what she did may not have been the best for their relationship.

Her husband's recent taking of a mistress and many dips into extramarital affairs has never really bothered her. Their relationship has faded with time and she is not terribly concerned that the romance has passed. She still believes that he is her best friend and she trusts him more than any other person, even her remaining brothers. She too has had her share of affairs, though hers tended to be much more discreet than his. So long as none of his lovers get it in their head that they might take some of his power (and thus hers) for themselves then she has no squabble with them. One or two have tried to wheedle for favors beyond their stations and both of them have since disappeared.
