Eolande, calm and collected as always, arrived back in the palace after that strange talk with Orin in the forest. He had warned her to mend the bonds in her family but hadn't provided any real guidance on how to do that. She was shaken by the whole conversation and wanted to sit for a while, but realized that if there was a war coming, there was no time for rest. She would have to do all she could to prevent it, even if it was just talking to her brothers. As soon as she thought this, she caught a glimpse of the younger of the two princes, Mori. Speeding up to catch up with him, she gave a smile to her brother. "Good afternoon, Mori," she said, her voice friendly. She had never been very close with either of her brothers, but Mori had always been the one to brush her off more insistently. He was who she would start with.

It was just another normal day for the bastard prince. Meaning that by noon he had already seduced the head one of their more affluent noble families, been out to the open air market and grabbed a bite, and was now walking through the castle to head back to his quarters. He took another crunchy bite of his apple and rubbed his hand down the dark silk of his shirt that was of course untucked. He pretty much never had the prim and proper appearance of the other noble children. But of course, he wasn't like them either. He hadn't been raised here his entire life. He wouldn't even be here had his mother not grown ill and reached out to the king in her final hours to let him know of his son.
And oh what a 'happy' reunion it had been. Mori had been closer to Cyrus than his sister, even with the age difference. After Cy's...changes Morighan made fewer attempts to get to know everyone and began to plot the downfall of their little hierarchy. Not because he wanted the power for himself. But because he wanted them to have less.
His boots made soft clicks on the stone floor as he moved. Quick long steps that moved him quickly. It was the repetitive sound of someone hurrying to keep up along with his sister's voice that made him slow and eventually stop. Pale eyes rolling back over his broad shoulder to see her. At once he tossed a fake smile on his face and turned around, taking her hand he would place a kiss upon her knuckles then release her hand. "Dear sister, what do I owe the pleasure?" They had never been close. False meaningless pleasantries generally all he extended to the girl. If she knew the real Mori, however. She would probably appreciate that.

Eolande could tell that his pleasantries were still only just that. Not genuine, not personal. Just hollow nothings. But she managed to keep her hopeful smile. "Can't a sister speak to her brother with no ulterior motives? We never speak anymore," she said with a small smile. "Please, won't you take a walk with me in the gardens?" Her blue eyes searched his, hoping desperately for an answer in the affirmative.

One of Morighan's eyebrows rose curiously. "I suppose she can." He said slowly. "But you say that as if we once did, which would be false." No, he had never been straight out cruel to his sister. But neglecting her could be seen as just as bad. He took another bite of his apple and appeared to consider her offer, eventually sighing softly and nodding. "Alright, I guess I can spare a few minutes." He wasn't really in a rush to be anywhere, nor did he have additional plans. But he wasn't certain just how much 'bonding' time he could handle with his sweet sister.
He looped his arm with hers in a relaxed way, like a proper gentleman escorting a lady. Only he wasn't. It was all a farce. "Tell me then, what brought this about? Someone upset you?" He walked at a slow pace toward the garden, limiting his gate for her shorter legs.

Eolande allowed him to take her arm and she followed along carefully. She sighed when he talked about her phrasing. "Yes, I suppose that would be false. I've never been close to either of my brothers." She paused, biting her lip before quitting because it was unladylike. "But I've always wanted to be close to you. Perhaps now is as good a time to start as any." She glanced at him when he asked what had brought on her change of heart and she shrugged, unwilling to tell him about the strange elf in the forest and his dark warning. "No... I've just decided that I would like to get to know you better. We never speak, as I said."

Morighan couldn't help but grin at the sound of her sigh. "You shouldn't let it bother you. We are royals. It's part of the package really." When she stated that she wanted to be closer to him suspicion immediately rose in the skeptical elf. He was a loner who was plotting the downfall of the royal family, his family. It was hard not to be just a tad paranoid. "Is that right?" He said simply. His voice not showing any sign that he was watching for ulterior motives. She began talking in circles then. Repeating herself. Now it was his turn to sigh. He took another bite of his apple then deposited it half eaten corpse into the hand of a waiting guard as they passed. Not saying a word to the man as they continued on.
"Well then tell me what you would like to know, dear sister. I'm surprised really that you would bother with me. As...rigid, as you are. Surely you are aware that I am not."

Eolande glanced up at her brother, realizing how much taller than her he was. "Yes, I have," she said firmly. It was true, even if her saying it had only been prompted by the meeting with Orin. She had always wondered why he was so different from the rest of the family; after all, he had lived here for a good portion of his life. Yet, he never acted like royalty, never dressed like them, never spoke like them. For all intents and purposes, Morighan was a commoner living among the royalty of the elves. When he asked what she wanted to know about him, she paused, never having thought for such a direct question. "Well, I suppose... what is it you like to do with your free time?" It was as good a place to start as any. Then perhaps she could get around to the topic of what he knew about the dark cloud hanging over their family. But she would have to be deft. He always seemed so shifty and suspicious.

It was more than a little strange that someone who had 'always' wanted to get to know her brother couldn't think of a single good question to ask him when prompted. What came was something he would have expected from a noble like her who focused and cared so much about appearances. "My free time..." He repeated after her. Not bothering to try to hide the amusement in his tone. "Hmmm....just give me a moment. I'm trying to think of something I do that would be suitable to tell ones younger sibling." Morgan tapped his chin with two of his fingers opposite her. "I have been working on my skills with a bow. That sounds reasonable enough." He turned to look at her then with his characteristic smirk in place. "And what of you, Eolande? Don't be shy. The sooner you tell me the sooner we can work on getting to the actual questions that I see brewing behind those dark eyes of yours. Did your mother forget the lesson in guile? Or are you just inept?" His words could be taken as harsh. But he said them all while still grinning and walking calmly toward the gardens. His blue eyes flickering from the stone hall before them to his younger sister.

Eolande sighed again when she heard the amusement in his voice. She should have known he wouldn't actually take anything she said seriously. "I've been meaning to get the master-at-arms to teach me some combat skills. There's been whispers about a war," she said off-handedly, sneaking a glance at him. It was the truth. Then he mentioned her lessons in guile and she glared outright at him. She was disturbed by her meeting with the elf in the forest and it seemed she wasn't doing a very good job of hiding it. "I continue to do the things that have entertained me for years. I ride my horse in the forest. I did it this morning, in fact. And met an elf in the forest named Orin."

Pacing through the hallway, the light-haired elf made his way through the corridor. The long strands flowed behind him as he walked with grace, hands at both sides and dressed in his usual exquisite garb. The light filtered in through the windows as his footsteps echoed through the walls, stepping against the floors of the castle. He was on his way to the next few rooms over, to do something that needed attending to as his princely duties called. However, it seemed to have come to an end, as he then spotted his own brother and sister coming toward him as he turned the corner. However it was odd seeing the two of them together, in fact, when was the last time they had been like this? He rarely saw his own sister or brother on his own time. But seeing them like this was... rather comforting. It was as if the whole family was together again. Aside from their parents of course. But how convenient that they just happened to be there at this time, and he stumbled upon them.
Walking toward them, he looked at the both of them with a smile on his face, looking at them calmly but there was a glint of happiness in his eye. His hands folded in front of him in politeness. "Brother, sister," he said, looking at them individually as he stated them. "It is pleasant to see you." Stepping aside to let them continue their walk, he would continue alongside them in hopes of letting him come with them. "What is it that brings you together this day?" he then asked, wondering where they were heading to.

Whispers of war whispers of war, there would always be talk of such things. Royals gossiped more than a gaggle of elderly humans. He barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes and nodded as if he too was concerned of such things. At his sister's open glare he cocked a brow as if confused by her reaction. Inwardly though he was very amused. He had gotten to her sooner than he could have hoped. Poor thing. She was rambling on about something or another, he was only half listening. Until he heard the name Orin. Orin wasn't a common name and the name of the old lore keeper. He was also the name Ives had given him when Mori was looking for a useful powerful elf. Interesting.
"You know-" It was at that moment that Cy would come prancing down the hall to ruin his line of questioning. Briefly, a sour look crossed Mori's face but he was quick to mask it. Sighing softly he smiled at Cyril and dipped his head over so slightly. Pleasantries... did these two never grow tired of their droll pleasantries? "Ah Cyril, you seem busy as ever." He breathed. Pale eyes shifting to follow his brother as he fell in step with them. Dammit...he couldn't very well ask her questions with Cy lurking. "Family bonding apparently. I'm sure little sister will have questions for you as well. Curious one she is."

Eolande saw Cyril before Morighan did and a bright smile fell across her features, replacing the glare that had been sent to her other brother. "Cyril! So nice to see you," she said, stepping forward to give him a formal but affectionate embrace. Then she fell back into step with Mori, gazing at Cyril as he asked what they were up to. "We were just heading to the garden. I was telling Morighan that I wish we were all closer. Please join us in the gardens?"

Eolande seemed eager to see him, but Morighan on the other hand, didn't seem so well intrigued. As he continued alongside them, he smiled as his brother stated that he was busy. Indeed he was, but that didn't mean that he should not place that aside to spend some time with his family. They were of his own blood after all. Elven royals should be together, for if they were to divide it might all fall apart. And she had some questions for him? He looked at her inquisitively, though he would find out in time. For the moment it appeared that she sought to bring them together. What a brilliant idea. "I would love to. I shall accompany you," he stated, inviting himself to their little bonding time. He hadn't visited the gardens for some time, it would be good to inspect and see how they were. Eolande had many bright ideas indeed. He continued to walk alongside them, wondering what they had been discussing prior. Though now most likely the conversation would change since he arrived.
Looking forward with a content look on his face, he continued onward as they walked. His strides were ever so elegant, his posture firm as his head held high. Indeed he looked contrasting compared to the other two. The elder brother to his younger siblings. One would not mistake the difference. His hands were still held before him, and his robes billowed behind him slightly as they walked. "How have you two been as of late?" he asked, wondering what they have been up to in both their duties and their spare time. After all, this was their bonding time. He couldn't help but be just slightly suspicious of Morighan but, at least now was a time he could ask.

As much as Mori might enjoy Cy's companionship now was not the time. Inwardly he was not happy but outwardly he kept the same easy smile on his face as their brother agreed to join them. He didn't miss the fast that Eolande had greeted Cy much differently than himself. It was expected though, he supposed. Morighan was certainly the outsider. Proof of the king's infidelity. A half sibling to the other two with their porcelain skin and royal demeanors. He was just a fly in the ointment. But one day he aimed to be much much more.
Mori's hold on Eolande had fallen away when she greeted Cy and Mori made no attempt to reestablish it. His bright blue eyes lingered on Cy before turning back to the hall ahead of them. For just a moment perhaps, recalling the person Cy had been before he had turned into this shell of a man. The obedient to the point of being nearly mindless, person. It made his stomach clench but only reaffirmed his end goal. One day. One day... "I'm well." Mori rubbed a dark thumb over his lips then stuffed his hand into the pocket of his slacks.
"And what of you, Cy?"

"I have been well, thank you," replied Eolande, though in her eyes there was still the glimmer of concern planted there by the dire warning from the forest. She briefly realized that she was still in her riding habit; she had come straight from the stable to find her brothers. She gazed at Cyril as Morighan asked how he was. They finally advanced into the garden and Eolande breathed a bit easier. Nature always had a calming effect on her, even in its highly controlled state in the garden. Eolande gazed at her brothers as she sat on a bench, gesturing for them to join her if they wished.
