Arlyn had to make sure that the mages would not be responsible for another war.
Marching down the hallway, a letter in hand, the Master of Water headed toward the Great Headmaster's office. So much was happening already, the elves had requested help for their plant hunt, which the school promptly denied. In fact, some suspicion still remained that they were the head of what happened at the Royal Emberi Ball. Those mages that the king had worked with had casted a spell upon the whole ballroom during the final dance, causing the werebeasts to shift into their bestial forms and to attack the other guests. The human king then spouted words of starting another war, against mages and werebeasts. However then he had claimed that he was under those mages' control, that he had no idea of what he was doing or saying during that time. At the time Arlyn had gone to the ball, he did not recognize those mages that had casted the spell, but neither did he have the time to pay much attention to what they looked like, such cleverness on their part. But as such chaos took place at the ball, he was busy fighting off the guards to had tried to seize them, assisting the Master of Fire and the others to fend the guards and the beasts off. He had caught a glimpse of Shaecayrn at the ball. Indeed she was hard to miss. He had not known what she was planning to do what happened after she stole a book about metamorphosis then ran away from the school. But he had seen that she had slaughtered three of those mages. The others had fled by then, escaped to who knows where. But as time goes on, who knows what they were brewing if anything. They could even be pawns of the human king for all he knew. But they were to be found and to be questioned, however Lledrith had taken no action since the ball, after all the calamity it had caused. Many mages were wounded, and some even fled in hopes of not being a suspect in case of another war. Though the Master of Water would not stand by and see their school to fall. Nor to acknowledge any other measures that were needed to be taken. The school had enough strictness on its own after the treaty. Even if the mages had powers that were feared, in the end they were just like the other species were.
But his expectations had not come to be, for he had received a letter that was written to the school. A letter written by King Victor of the humans himself, an apology for his actions. It claimed in the letter that did the mages wish to start a war, then to not reply to the letter and he would let the others know. So they did have to respond, but be wary of what schemes or dilemmas it may cause. But they of course did not wish to begin another war. That was a whole different matter and not their attempt, and in a way they could be held partially responsible for the mages that had casted the spell. Arlyn had already told the trackers to seek out the identity of the culprits, and they had gone into action but so far there were no leads. So he had to bring this to the attention of the Great Headmaster anyway, for the contents of the letter and how to respond. He felt that while a Master of any element could reply, the Headmaster was the head of the school after all, so it'd only make sense if he were to write a response.
Arriving at the door he had opened it, entering the office upon where the Great Headmaster could be found. Walking straight toward his desk, Arlyn peered at him somberly. "Headmaster Damaexx," he began, the letter visible in his hand as the door had closed behind him. "The King of the Humans had sent word from Emberi," he handed him the letter. His blue eyes then averted back up to him. He didn't know if the Headmaster had been present at the ball or not, however he did not see him. And he had not seen or heard from the Fire Master ever since the ball. He had been injured and his lover had taken him in, as far as he had seen. But it was his responsibility to report back to the school. Yet he did not. He gave Damaexx a moment to read the letter if he wished, otherwise he continued. "I have notified the trackers of the rogue mages. We have yet to discover their identity," he informed him. "And the Master of Fire had not returned." Though it was unlikely that he was involved with it. He trusted Ea even though he had a flair of rebelliousness, but even he had sent the ballroom into flames as he fought them off.
"We must respond to this letter. But I feel that we need be wary," he said, taking a few steps away from the desk to give him space, standing there professionally. "We also need your guidance. I feel that sending the trackers after the rogue mages will not be enough. They could be plotting something. Something far greater than we can imagine. Part of myself feels that they wished for this to happen." Images of the chaos ran through his mind.
"They want another war," he told him, looking him dead in the eye.

Nearing the evening, Great Headmaster Damaexx laid down his quill. With his long bony fingers he piled up the pieces of paper whilst simultaneously blowing over the wet ink to dry. The sun was nearing dusk and the clouds allowed the early moon to slowly shine through the window. Just as he wanted to stand up he felt a magical presence on the stairs, quickly moving towards his office. Before he knew it the door opened, and Arlyn Norwood walked into his office. A somber feeling rushed through the office as he looked into the eyes of Arlyn. As the old wizard came closer, with a letter in his hand, Damaexx gracefully placed the pile of papers on the left corner of his desk. He grabbed for his favorite gargoyle statue, and placed on top, so that the wind could not find a grasp. Arlyn gave Damaexx the letter. ,,The King of the Humans had sent word from Emberi.’’, Damaexx heard Arlyn speaking, what to make out of this? What had the King to do with the Mages? Damaexx looked confusedly at the document, taking time for the content to slowly sink into his head. His eyes rolled over the words, but stopped upon reaching ‘’if the honorable Mages where to express their disagreement upon not sending a response, the council may initiate in the suggestion of reverence trough utilization of equal arms in display through his royal seal of honor of integrity.’’ Damaexx noticed between the lines that the letter threatened with war. Slowly the pupils enlarged themselves, a sigh came out as he released his grip on the letter, allowing it to fall onto his desk. A small moment of silence followed after the Master finished his sentence, the headmaster responded: ,,I am not aware of the situation. That night I had personal school business.’’ He slowly padded on the sleeve of his left arm whilst also pushing himself out of the large chair. His deep black robes slowly felt into place as the moonlight reflected its shine across it. Damaexx walked clockwise around his wide equally black desk before speaking out the words: ,,Old friend, may refresh my memory? What happened during the final minute?‘’ The now softly smiling Damaexx reached out his hand, palm facing upwards. He wanted to touch Arlyn, and peek into his last memory of the ball to make a fair interpretation and decision. Whilst Arlyn spoke out ,,They want another war.’’, Damaexx looked deep looking into the eyes of Arlyn. ,,They might, then the question is against who..’’, the last words were spoken out in a more mysterious tone, slightly referring to the unknown feelings that rushed through the letter, laying on his desk.
