forever fields, Since meeting her father , Noelle now spent half of her days on land. It seemed like being out of the water and out of her old home had let her become a lot more free. Underneath the waves she was restricted on what she could and couldn't do. Even though she held a position at court it meant nothing because of her blood not being pure. She was a hybrid , that had been nothing she was in control of course. This was what her mother had made of her and you would think a mother would protect it's offspring but not in Noelle's case. Her mother tended to ignore her when they were in her Uncle's kingdom , he was the king after all. They didn't want any dirty blood messing up their family bloodline but the also didn't want to fully accept her. The only time that she was needed was when their were things to do on land and she was pretty enough for them to show off to anyone else but her own people. If her mother had her way she would have married her off to someone at court a long time - if they had accept her. Her mother would tell her in private that no man at court was desperate enough to want a hybrid duchess. She had heard this for years. No one could imagine the kind of damage that could do to someone. For someone's mother to make them feel worthless , useless and unwanted. It was a ridiculous concept to understand really , Noelle could never explain it to other people. This wasn't normal. For a long time she wished she knew where she belonged or at least find a place where people didn't care what she was as much. She couldn't escape that under the sea , she was who she was. Important but unimportant all at the same time.
It wasn't until she had finally met her father , a immortal man that she felt like she belonged somewhere. She finally understood another part of her that had been missing before. She finally could feel a little more complete then she had before. Finding this made had took decades but she had finally found him and he had welcomed her into his life. He didn't care that she was a hybrid , he didn't care about her title. He just cared about a daughter he had never gotten to meet. Her mother had told him that she was dead and she had told Noelle that her father had passed away as well. It was a different to be on land and not hide who she was for the most part. Now she had a place near Cendra city , a place she visited often to go to the market.
It had already been a long day , Noelle was laving her house to the market to pick up some herbs. She had one person that requested healing but they weren't / didn't want to be receptive of her empathetic powers. So for him she was going to find some herbs to at least put his mind at ease. Her long blue dress gracefully moved with her as she walked along the busy path , it seemed like everyone was on their way to Cendra. Her hair flowing loosely behind her , Noelle did love land but she found it hard to stay for longer then a week at a time. Moving past people with her bag in hand she kept the same steady pace that she had been in. Then she felt someone on the right of her bump her , she turned to look and a moment later a small girl was snatching her bag and running towards town. The chase wasn't very long as she watched the small girl bump into a man that had been in the front of them. Noelle running to her. " Hey stop her ! , she asked the man as she cleared the gap between the three of them.

Another long series of days in this cesspool of a city, Carjen was not really looking forward to the coming week. He had a lot of complicated orders, there was some dangerous weather on the horizon and he still hadn’t made any progress on that addition to his stable. Things were difficult, time was short and gold was doing just as poorly, he had to do some serious work fast to make enough to last through winter. That unfortunately meant another trip to Cendra city was necessary. He hated the place honestly, he hated most population centers. The walls were too close, the houses too small, the people billowing out of every crack in the street like vermin, pooling in the town market like it was fun to be crammed together like sardines in a can, he couldn’t stand it. He wanted to be out in the open, to be in a field in his jaguar form, to chase deer and pigs amongst the grass. But he needed supplies for his next shipment of armor orders and Cendra was as far as his deliveries would go so, here he was, approaching the city gates with his hands in his pockets and his bag slung over his shoulder.
He stood tall above the crowd, a towering pillar of a man, at least a head above everybody else, often times two or three. He liked that about himself at least, he had a good line of sight and was intimidating, imposing. It was unwise to mess with him and many people knew it just by looking up at him. His straight posture, his slicked back black hair, his hard jaw, which was clean shaven and crisp today- he looked more important than he was and that kept him safe from harm, which was good. If he had to reveal every day in every fight that he was a werebeast living among humans, things would be difficult. Thankfully, he was frightening, unnerving, but not unusual, just tall and cold, with callous green eyes that haunted those who looked into them. He shifted his bag from one shoulder to the other, casual as he walked up the road at his usual hurried pace. He wore his usual black leather armor set, complete with its silver studding, the etching of a snarling cat standing out in stark relief to the dark leather breastpiece. The scaled decorations jingled and jangled as he walked, and was suddenly jarred to one side by a collision that came behind him.
Though startled, he looked down pretty casually, taking his time assessing the young girl that had collided with him. She’d been running so fast that he’d stopped her dead in her tracks, sent her reeling actually, sprawling to the ground, the contents of the bag she’d been carrying scatterings everywhere, it was ungraceful and unceremonious. At first, he was going to keep walking, to tell the kid to watch herself and then to go about his business, but the woman who clearly owned that bag could be spied running up behind them and he paused to assess her as well, and that committed him to the situation. He sighed, and set his own bag down, picking the girl up by the scruff of her shirt a little roughly. He was a huge man and it seemed like he could’ve thrown her or roughed her up in some malicious way, but instead of socking her in the gut or tossing her to the side, he set her gently on her feet and motioned for her to wait for a moment. He turned away, rifling through a side pouch that hung on his belt, and came out with three gold coins, which he handed to her cordially. She seemed skeptical about taking them so he gestured, nodded and let her run off with the money. That was clearly what she wanted, what she needed, why even go about the middle man of stealing people’s property?
He watched her scamper away with a quiet dignity, before finally turning to meet the woman whose bag he’d just rescued. He gave her a look up and down, not lewd or anything, just curious, like a scientist studying a textbook. He noted her dress, her beautiful long hair, the gorgeous rings she wore in her ears, but still found it necessary to ask. “Are you alright?”

forever fields,
Noelle had spent most of her days healing , this was something that she was good at. Honestly , when she said good she was actually great at it. She was just a humble person when it came to the art of healing. Before she understood her powers fully she had always been able to make people feel better with just herbs. When you added the fact that she had become empathitc it made her job as a healer somewhat easier. She would take the pain that they felt and made them feel like they were in better condition. This however didn't work on herself. She had been alive for decades and for most of that time she practiced her trade as a healer. She knew a lot of people were just calling themselves healers and were fixing people up fast. Noelle on the other hand healed people both mentally , emotionally and physically. Her powers just added onto the way she could connect to people. All of her patients were not phyically hurt , a lot of them wanted to get over whatever was haunting them while the slept. She was the one to go to.
She was now chasing the young girl past several people , moving through the crowd with ease and grace. Even if she was more graceful in the water , the same grace transferred to her legs ..,, that was when she wasn't dancing however. It was almost like every move she made was calculated. The young thief was faster then her , no matter how fast Noelle would]' start running it seemed like the younger girl would run faster. Having to chase a girl through crowds hadn't been in her plans for the day.
The girl had bumped into a rather tall man , that probably towered over everyone walking past him. He definitely towered over Noelle who only stood a five foot even. Her hazel eyes watched as he let the girl go with some coins , her eyes narrowing at the little thief before returning to the man that had her bag. "Thanks.." , she was cautious about it. He was studying her and she knew it , clearing her throat as she tilted her head to the side. "I'm fine , this bag was just filled with things I need from the market to heal today." , she spoke as she grabbed the bag out of the man's hand gently. "I'm fine. Just winded I guess. But i'll live." ,she was joking of course. " But that was nice of you to do. Get my bag and give her money. You do that a lot ?" , she asked him lifting a eyebrow. It was her turn to study him now. Did he go around giving all thieves money ? If it was him and it was a man would he have done the same thing?

Though in his mind, he remained skeptical, even a little annoyed at the intrusion on his day, Carjen didn’t show any of it on his face. Instead, he remained callous and impassive, a stone wall of indifference. His irritation came through in his voice a little unintentionally, though smooth and deep it was a little stilted with something that could’ve been shock, may have been a little panic after being run into, but was more logically some kind of annoyance at being interrupted in his travels. But he didn’t actually say anything or do anything to draw attention to it, it was subtle and quiet, like everything he did usually was.
“More than I should.” He started a little quietly, pausing to look after the girl he had given the money to. She disappeared pretty quickly, as those kinds of kids often had to, it was a real shame to see anyone live life like that, let alone a child. But he’d never admit to his sympathies, it was unbecoming of someone of his stature, to pity the weak and the homeless, the desperate and the lonesome. He turned back to the woman, giving her another look up and down, a little less focused this time, only reassuring himself that she was uninjured. She’d mentioned healing, even if she was hurt she obviously seemed like the type to be able to handle it herself so he allowed himself to relax a little bit and turned his attention away again idly. He kicked at a rock with his boot, looking for all the world like a small child himself in the moment, though he was obviously not one. But the way that he stood, slouched slightly, kicking at stones, he seemed a little sheepish.
“I hate the…” He paused, eyes drawing skyward as he tried to choose a word. “…process of stealing. It’s so unnecessary, it’s just a way to make money, that’s what they really want and need in the end so why even bother with it? Punishment doesn’t solve the problem, they’re still broke when they get out of prison so…”
