The song that forces men to leap overboard in squadrons The white blonde mermaid had finally escaped the confines of the palace. She inhaled deeply as she swam freely through the oceans, playing with a few dolphins as she did so. She just needed some time away from her duties and to be herself and not some royal ass who got waited on hand and tail. She decided to visit the land walkers, so she headed for the huts she knew of in the tropics. Plus, she was in a foul mood and wanted to play mind games with those poor humans. As she surfaced, she hid behind a rock and waited.
When she saw a few humans, she began to sing an enchanting song. Her voice carried and the humans were curious to find out where the voice was coming from. The seemed to be in a trance, as she lured them into the ocean waters. Deeper and deeper the humans waded until they were fully submerged. Karmina carried on singing, as she looked into the eyes of the eldest male as water slowly began to fill his lungs. She kissed him to help him breathe, she didn't want to kill anyone. After a while, she sent them back and headed onto land herself.
She sat on the golden sand, looking out to the horizon. The sun was just setting and it looked beautiful. Her family lived close by and she thought she would pay them a visit before going back home. At least she knew her voice was still strong enough. Especially when war seemed to be looming ever closer. 262 | open | notes: never trust an angry mermaid ulla

Things have become rather unexpected for Vidar. For a few moments, things were rather peaceful, but apparently to the undead, he could escape the dangers which he is doomed to face. Perhaps he just had something about him which attracted such creatures. Perhaps it was the stench of his rotting flesh hidden beneath the armor, a feast for a creature upon which hunted the lifeforms upon the living soon yet to be dead. But even still, somehow he found himself in this predicament. Water swirled all around him, the suit of dark armor bending forth, his sword driven into the beast's head. It thrashed about underneath the waves, the salt water all around them as the many swooshes and turns flipped them about as the jaws still aimed for him. The creature was heading at high speed through the Nihla Ocean, the water maneuvering around them as he could feel the rush as the creature soon began to surface. Feeling the warmer pockets of the water Vidar withdraw his sword, however the impact from the speed caused him to stay on, that was, until the aquatic beast rose to the surface. The dim light of the sunset casted the orange hues upon his black armor, the droplets of the seawater falling back into the ocean below as he hung on. The large, dark bluish silver head also extended from the water, its long neck reaching above as waves began to crash around its long limb, sending water splashing high into the air as they rippled against the sea huts in the not so far distance. But from this the swordsman had fallen off, flying through the air as he then landed onto the sand below. Landing on his feet the armor dragged through the sand, sliding back as he stood firm. He noticed that behind him, was a mermaid sitting on the beach. He had briefly seen her from falling off the creature's head, however there was no time to waste, as his sword was brandished in front of him, pointed toward the beast.
Not only there was one menacing head, but out from the water rose one more, then another, then another. Six heads reached the surface, now looming over and underneath each other as their necks served around, ready to devour whomever or whatever was in front of them. Their ghastly white eyes were a terrifying sight to behold, leading down to their draconic scales leading to their vicious teeth, protruding outward with a snarl and snapping jaws. A hydra indeed it was, one creature with six heads. Vidar was certain that from underneath the water, previously, he had casted some light into one's head, but the attack hardly broke beneath the scales as he continued to see its head bobbing high above the water, looking at him in anticipation despite the scar of light upon its head. He was certain he could defeat this creature, however it was only a mere matter of time. His armored helm faced forward as his sword was struck out in front of him, position ready as he anticipated the ferocious beast to attack, knowing that it will at any second. He could sense the predatory hunger within its menacing gaze, as their eyes narrowed as their mouth practically watered. However, his helm turned slightly, seeing the woman behind him as he looked over his shoulder.
She was a merfolk no doubt, and although she was behind him, that didn't mean that she would be out of reach from the hydra. She could swim to safety, and land seemed to be another option, but there was hardly any land to begin with. It appeared to be just a small sandbank, along with the huts across its end. Though, even if she were to go into the water, it may not be safe from the devastating hydra. He wouldn't have cared much otherwise what the merfolk did or if she got hurt, but under the Force of the Ashes Treaty, all the races were united under the alliance. In that case, he had to treat her as any other citizen, but the war still lingered within his mind. "Stay behind me," he told her, not really caring for what she might have to say or what she was planning on doing. Both of their lives were at stake, even if she wished him not to fight the creature, he had no other choice. Just as the particles of light entered his sword, gleaming like twinkling lights within the dark hues of the sunset, the hydra roared, sending large waves toward their way as they splashed toward them with intense speed. Even Vidar himself didn't know if he could hold it off, but as he then brought the sword closer to his chest, he then ran forward, charging at the beast as two of its heads lashed out in his direction at the same time.
