Much to his disapproval, Larkin had left the safety of Eriu’s house. He knew he had been careless and left without a word so this was all entirely his fault but he didn’t think she was --- well… yes, he did. She would have reacted on utter impulses and from the looks of it she had. So now with the linger news of carrying a new life plus the added rampage hormones he remembered dealing with from a pregnant Eriu, the rabbit would have taken it upon herself and just left.
Not only did it worry him but it entirely frustrated him to the point of thinking about shaking her again like when they first met. His blue eyes dimmed a bit as the yellow started to melt through like molten gold. His fingers tightened into themselves as nails dug into the palms of his hand. He wanted to hit something. The aggression built in his muscles and it was only then done he pay attention to how he was walking. No longer was it smooth and silent but now more of a stomp and full of anger. The wolf was up to his old tricks again. Using the rage to sail on past without him noticing. Closing his drastically changing eyes, he focused himself on his breathing. He imagined the air filling every part of his lungs until there was no room left and then steadily released it again out of his mouth. He could do this without losing his temper. He could reign himself in, find her and tell her how fuck---… no. He would find her and tell her it was unwise and though it was a dangerous thing she could have ever done. It was his fault.
He could do this.
The scent he followed had faded in and out as it was a week or so old. But luck seemed to be on his side because everytime he lost it he would pick it back up again randomly. Whoever it was above obviously wanted this meeting to happen because there had been numerous times it was just gone out from underneath him. He walked with a steady pace doing his best to keep the anger from seething. The anger right now had absolutely no place in the matter, right?
Before long he was before a large castle and his brows furrowed. Had she come here willingly? Or was she taken? Though if there had been a sign of a struggle he figured Eriu would have mentioned as much but she hadn’t she simply said she thought Larkin had been with him. Plus the scent he followed was only hers and it didn’t linger with anyone else's? Thinning his lips for a moment he decided that it would be the last place he attempted to check because her scent went various other ways but the castle, in fact, this one was stronger and so he followed it. His footing was light now as he moved along. Years of training to stalk down prey and nab the unsuspecting had done this for him. He could be as light as a shadow… almost as if he was weightless. The smell was carrying him off towards the city again and his heart beat a little harder. Maybe she had been recaptured? What if the king grabbed her? He didn’t think Larkin was stupid enough to mingle within the city knowing well what laid there and how dangerous and detrimental it really could be but her scent was beginning to mix in with the surroundings again. He slowed to a stop not sure where to go now. ”Damn it, Larkin.” frustration was creeping back in again. The earlier rain had caused it to become too faint again which made him unsure of her actual steps.
He just fucking missed her.
Growling softly he ran a hand through his darkening dirty blond hair and took a glance around. He knew this land well enough like it was he who created it and yet he couldn’t even find a little rabbit. ”where are you…” he couldn’t just give up it got him this far at least. Closing his eyes he just tried to inhale again
attempting to see if he could find something.

Larkin had been at the castle with Ezra and she was making her way back to Carjen's home. It was a longer trip that she had thought it would be and she was growing tired. But she didn't have too long to go now. Her small boots dug into the earth as she moved with soft footsteps. Her loose flowing dress covered with her long coat that had thankfully been washed and dried while she had been at Carjen's. It was evening and the coolness of a fall night was rolling in, causing her to wrap her thin arms around herself. The tattoo was still on her wrist. Unfortunately, the healers of Imfala weren't able to remove it. One recommended she just get a tattoo to cover it. Another just to wear a large bracelet of some sort. She had hoped for it to disappear but it didn't look like it was in the cards.
She was moving along at a relaxed but steady pace when a sound reached her. A familiar voice that sent a shiver up her spine. Was that...no, he wouldn't be out here. Would he? She couldn't even make out the words but the timbre of his voice was impossible for her to miss. She instantly took several quick excited steps in that direction but stopped short. What if...what if he didn't want to see her? Just the thought made her blood run cold and a moist sheen rise in her blue eyes. It was hard, so hard to not keep moving toward the sound of his voice. To know he was so close and that she shouldn't/couldn't go to him.
But she had hurt him. And it would only happen again. She didn't want to make Felix sad. He had done so much for her, saved her, made her feel important. Not having him around left a gaping hole in her life that she was struggling with. It was like trying breathe while something choked her. Was this how he felt when she was with him? It was a painful thing to consider. And so with a frown on her lips she didn't move, not wanting to draw attention to where she might be with sound. She just stared down at her feet and waited for him to pass her by.
"Felix." She didn't even remember making the decision to speak. But there it was. Her soft voice breaking the evening sounds of the woods like the squeak of a mouse. She stiffened and clenched her eyes shut, no. No, she couldn't do this to him. She had to be quiet. But...he would find her if she did. He might run across her path and then he would be in another position that might be painful for him. She was tired, but knowing he was close had rejuvenated her. Excited her. Her whole body was practically vibrating with the need to be close, to make that connection to him. But suddenly she was forcing herself to run. Away. She moved in the opposite direction his voice had reached her from. Her boots tearing through the underbrush and snapping branches. Her dress catching on brambles and briars. But still, she ran. As if she could really outrun the memories of him and all that he still meant to her.
I'm so sorry.

He got lost in thought for a moment debating on what he should do. Maybe he should just head back towards Eriu and hope she would go back there. He wasn’t entirely sure of the direction he should go and so he stood there. After a moment he heard steps but he didn’t turn to look the direction they had come from. Someone was close by and he could almost hear their faint breath and their soft rhythmic heartbeat. No less he paid like he had no idea. His blue eyes staring hard out in front of him. What if it were a guardian attempting to ambush him? Though if they were smart they wouldn’t have come alone and as it were he heard only one set of footsteps. His hands remained in his pockets as his predator senses were on high alert. He could just move and see if he were followed. If he was he could disappear pretty easily if he shifted forms. He had been the best for a reason after all. He had the skills that no other could master and that was simply disappearing in plain view. After a moment he took a hand from his pocket and rubbed the bottom of his jaw with his fingers as he was trying to think it through on what his move should be.
And then he heard the voice. A simple word.
His blue eyes were immediately drawn upwards as his breath froze in his chest. Heart began to rattle against his ribcage but before he could say her name he saw the movement of where she had once been standing. Was she running from him? Urgency rushed through his body to his feet and sent him soaring after her. This wasn’t like her, why was she running from him?
Footfalls were heavy as he stormed after her spying her back almost immediately. ”Larkin! Stop!” he called. ”Stop!” Now with her in his sights it forced him to somehow go faster as if he was barely touching the ground and whirling around trees and over brush. The distance between them got shortened more and more, enough for him to finally reach out. Hand struck out to grab her by the arm as he forced the both of them to stop, slamming on the breaks as fingers dug into ivory skin. He yanked her around to face him as hard blue eyes bore into her. He had never been rough with her but before he could reign that temper in, it snuck out for a moment. Holding her by the upper arm to ensure she wouldn’t start running from him again, he held her in place. ”What the hell! What has gotten into you, why are you running from me!” his words were breathless and angered. ”What is going on!” he demanded. He could feel a growl working up his throat and his eyes hardening as he continued to stare at her as if trying to see her very soul. He had to calm down he couldn’t afford a slip-up. Not right now. It was hard but he forced his fingers to loosen and then… all at once…. He let go.
Jaws tightened as the muscles in them ticked with mounting frustration. The bulking shadow of the wolf loomed as it attempted to ride in on the anger and slip through. The rough waters were beginning as he desperately looked for an anchor to hold him to the ground. ”Please….”

He was chasing her.
How could she stay away if he followed? She pushed herself as hard as she could but he was faster, stronger, his strides covering more earth than her small ones. And then she felt him snag her arm hard enough to make her cry out. Stopping her fleeing immediately as he planted his feet and jerked her around to face him. Her blue eyes were wide and already filling with tears, her long ivory locks billowing around her face sticking to her lips that were slightly damp. She flinched at his words but didn't look away. She stared at him, taking in his words, his pain, his anger. She had caused all of it. Her face twisted from the pain of his tightly he held her arm but she didn't pull away, eventually though he released her and her other hand rose to rub at the aching limb. She swallowed hard, trying to think of the right thing to do. To say. She was making it worse no matter what she did. She felt helpless to stop hurting him.
She was acting before she knew it. Suddenly moving toward him and wrapping her arms around his neck to pull herself in close. She buried her face in the crook of his neck and took a shaking breath into her lungs. She was crying now, the tears rolling down her cheeks and against his skin. She had missed him so badly. Just having him close was like getting a breath of air after nearly drowning. "You shouldn't have looked for me." She said in a sad tone against his skin. "I will make you sad again." Her thin shoulders shook with the weight of it. Missing him plus how emotional her pregnancy made her just created a storm that overwhelmed her.
Her fingers gripped at his shirt, holding onto him so that he couldn't push her away, even though she had been the one running. Even though it was selfish to try to stay when it would be better, easier for him if she were gone. "I thought it would make it better if I was gone." She hiccuped, her tears making her breath catch. She pulled back a little then, to see his face. It hadn't even been two weeks and she felt his loss as strongly as if he had been gone forever. She brushed her fingertips over his cheek, the cut of his chin, the softness of his lips. Memorizing someone she already knew by heart.
"I am sorry Felix. I didn't mean to make a baby."

It could have been easy to break the bone in her arm. Snap it like it was nothing more than a twig and his fingers itched to do so. Even as she yelped when he grabbed her it didn’t impact the heavy wall at first. The wolf urged him from the shadows just to bend it a little more and to hold it a little tighter but then her eyes were what he had noticed. They stared up at him with wide tear filled blue eyes almost reminding him exactly who he held onto. Forcing his fingers to loosen he let go of her and dropped his hands down to his sides and shuffled backward a couple of steps. He didn’t know what was going on or why she was running away from him. Why was she acting scared of him? Blue eyes still bore hard as he watched her rub at her arm where he held her. The red imprints were a reminder of how rough he had been and it was almost like he had been brought back to his former career. Soon those tears that rimmed her eyes eventually broke the dam and came streaming down her soft snow white cheeks.
Almost instantaneously as her cheeks grew wet with tears, she crashed into him. Her arms went around his neck as she cried softly into the crook near his shoulder. Brows furrowed a bit as he tipped his head to look properly at her but she had her face hidden speaking mumbled words against his shirt and partial skin. ”What?” the words came from his mouth dumbly. ”Larkin…” He knew he should mull the words over but his mind was too busy focused on the fact she was crying. Gripping her by the shoulders gently this time he pulled her back a bit as she soon spoke again about how she thought it would be better if she was gone.
Now he understood.
”No… I don’t want you gone.” he said as she gripped onto his shirt as she pulled back more willingly. Her hand lifted to brush softly along his cheek and he pressed his head gently into it. Everything he had felt before was steadily being pushed away. The harsh wind taming and turning now into a soft summers breeze kiss. When she lowered it just a bit more to where her hand was near his mouth and fingers ran over his jaw, he kissed the inner palm of her hand as he brought his own hand to cup over hers. ”I need you with me.” he said. It was true Larkin had a bit of an oddball language and spoke in a weird way and asked far stranger questions but that was what made her unique. He understood it and didn’t want it to change. Her next set of words reminded him though of what was truly going on. It wasn’t just the two of them anymore but the three of them. ”We.” he corrected. ”Together. You and I made a baby.” He pulled her hand from his face and now entwined his fingers with hers. ”It’s no one’s fault, Larkin. I know I was an idiot and didn’t say anything when I walked out but I didn’t do it because I was mad. I--…” he frowned.
He let go of her hand though and sighed quietly. He didn’t tell her what had happened between him and Eriu or their infant daughter. ”I am just scared of history repeating itself.” he said. ”I don’t want to hurt you or…. It.” he motioned towards her. ”Like I did with Eriu.”

”No… I don’t want you gone.” She smiled through her tears when he said that. Shaking her head a little she bit her lip then spoke. "But I-" We. He said. We made a baby. She stared up at him as he spoke. He wasn't mad at her. "You were disappointed?" She asked softly. Not pulling completely away she let her hands fall once released, to hold his arms loosely. Craving the contact she had been deprived of. "I wasn't trying to make you angry. I just...I thought it was bad. That you had to walk out. You've...never left me. You've always said you would be back. Always. But...not that time." Her fingers twitched against the fabric of his shirt, a small frown still tugging her lips downward.
"I didn't want to make you sad. You've made me so happy. Just the short time I've been with you..." He gave her a reason then though. History...repeating itself? She waited for him to explain although a wrinkle of worry creased between her brows. "You hurt Eriu?" She asked softly. But Eriu had been so nice to her, to them. She was always smiling and happy. Cheerful enough to brighten a room. But-oh...
Larkin looked down at his chest as she contemplated something she remembered him telling her. Something from weeks ago. "She was...she was the one you mentioned then. The woman you loved, who had your child." It was strange, this feeling stirring in her stomach. Why had neither of them told her? Were they still-was she just in the way? "I see..." The answer came softly. Her features drooping slightly. Maybe that was why he was so upset...her pregnancy would complicate things between him and Eriu? But. He said he had hurt her? She was letting her mind get carried away before she even had any answers.
"Why did you hurt her?" The voice came softly, lined with emotion. "Was it that part of you that tried to hurt me on the steps?"

Her next question caused him to shake his head no again. He knew she was just trying to process it in her own head, in her own terms. Some probably would get frustrated with her and had it been someone else his short fuse would have been lit. It had when they had first met but oddly she made him practice patience. Somehow he found it in him to take a slow path with her and understand that she was completely different than other people. She worked differently. That was probably what made her stick out to him amongst other people. ”Not disappointed just worried.” He wasn’t scared for him he was more scared for her and of what the wolf would do. He already threatened to try and consume the babe and her if she got in the way… just like Eriu. The fairy had gotten in the way and was public enemy number two in the wolf’s eyes. Connections were a weakness. Family was a weakness as was love and those who were closest to him – Adrian, Lucia, Larkin, Eriu, and Lux -- were in danger. They gave his human side power and the wolf detested them for it.
”I know. I should have said something but I wasn’t thinking.” he gave her a small smile attempting to lighten it a bit as he spoke shortly after. ”You will come to see I do that often. I make mistakes and that was a big one. I’m so sorry. I won’t do it again. Promise.” He said. That was one he could keep for her though. He knew he wouldn’t be dumb enough to do that again. Had Adrian not found him when he did he probably would have been far more stupid than just smoking his life away. He, however, wouldn’t tell Larkin that. He wouldn’t tell her how close he was to just say screw it all and go because the meeting with Lucia hadn’t helped matters. She spoke Eriu’s name and he knew he had explained to her that they were once together however the look on her face caused him to tip his head. ”That was a long time ago.” he assured her. ”Eriu is a part of my past that I have never been able to forgive myself for because I had been a terrible person.” He was attempting to use smaller words and phrases to let her get the hint but if he knew Larkin well enough she would let it blow right over her head. ”She’s my ex, remember me explaining that? We are no longer together but we were in the past and we had a child together. A little girl.” surely she remembered that part. Then it seemed to click in her head and he nodded.
Soon she asked the dreaded question why even though she seemed to get a sense as to where it was going. ”Right.” he said. ”He detests love and family. Anything good he wants to destroy it.” he frowned a little as his mind was racing back to that night when she had locked herself in front of the door, guarding the squalling infant on the other side. Her bloodied hand outstretched to him as he advanced on her screaming his name, calling him back to the front line. ”He ruined that part of my life and I don’t want him to ruin what we have too.” he said. ”and I would never forgive myself if I hurt you like I did Eriu.” Eriu had been wounded in her desperate attempts to fight him off and in those last seconds had he not come back…. She wouldn’t have survived. Neither of them would have. ”So I understand if you don’t want to be with me or to stay wherever it is you are staying…” Lucia had tried pushing past that but he wouldn’t let her. Unlike the feline, however, Larkin wasn’t as in as much danger right now but she would be if he didn’t figure out how to control him. ”I just wish you would have left a note or something. Eriu had been worried about you.” he said. ”Where have you even been?”

Larkin listened to him speak, still retaining her grip on his arms as if afraid to let him go. He was just worried then. Her blue eyes dipped down and she nodded but didn’t speak. She had overreacted. Taken the situation the wrong way. Or so it seemed. At his apology she shook her head and smiled while brushing away the last of her tears on the shoulder of her coat. ”No its….” But it wasn’t ok, what he had done wasn’t an ok thing. But in her mind she could forgive all of his transgressions without a second thought. She loved him.
He began to explain Eriu, their history and she looked back up to him. Biting down on her lip and giving the tiniest of nods when he said she was his ex. She wouldn’t have blamed either of them for trying to work it out. They had a child together from what he said. Family was important. ”I remember.” She said slowly. Her bow furrowing. ”I’ve just had a lot of my mind. I’m sorry I forgot.” He frowned and looked away, she could only assume he was remembering something. He spoke of his wolf and Larkin’s hold on him tightened. He wasn’t a bad person, no matter what he had done. What he might do. He was still her Felix who saved her from a horrible fate. Had he not been the one sent to get her she would have still been caught and it would have been unlikely anyone else would have saved her.
Plus…they would have never met.
”I want to be with you.” She said softly. ”I didn’t think I just…I hated that you were hurting and I tried to help. I thought I should just go.” It had been wrong and hearing that Eriu was worried made her feel guilty. She liked the fae very much, she was a wonderful person. At the question of where she had been Larkin replied. ”I’ve been with Carjen. I met him once before, back when I lived in the cabin. He’s been very kind to me.” She released her hold on him with one hand to rub at her arm that ached still. He had put some pressure on it and by accident or not it was already turning a brilliant shade of purple beneath her coat. She rolled her lips between her teeth and rubbed it softly.
”Are you sure you…want me? I’m…I’m not someone most people would want.” Her blue eyes turned away from him, her hand settling over her hurt arm like a small shield against the pain. She caught sight of her tattoo then. The one that marked her a whore. She closed her eyes then against the site of her branding. And against what she was about to say.
”You have a daughter with Eriu and the two of you loved one another. I can see it. Maybe you still do. I…I don’t want to break up your family, Felix.” She said softly. Her lips turning into a frown with her next words. ”I have nothing to offer you. I don’t know how to be a mother. I can’t even walk through Cendra without getting attacked because of this tattoo. Because I’m a hybrid. I’m impulsive. I ‘m just-” She took a shaking breath deep into her lungs and looked up at him.
”I don’t want you to be with me because you think you have to. I love you, with my whole heart. But that doesn’t mean anything if you don’t feel the same.” She wanted to reach out, to touch him again. To feel the feather soft press of his lips that she knew would eventually morph into something hungrier. But she didn’t. She had options, yes. But so did he.

It was times like this he wished he was like his older brother. How on earth would Adrian handle this situation? He listened to her and stockpiled the name she had given him. Carjen. It bothered him that she would run off and go be with some other man – friend or not. Wasn’t that what they were when they first started? Friends? Of course their relationship was a little different and got weirder the longer they were around one another but the idea of another man in the picture slightly burned. Friends were one thing but living with this man? His jaws tightened on each other as the deep seeded feeling of protective and territorial started to take root. No less he didn’t want to let this on to her and attempted to smooth that expression that came over his face when she spoke about it. Her next set of words though caused him to give her a weird expression. ”Who says I am like other people?” He questioned. To be honest they were probably a match made in heaven considering how weird the both of them were. He wasn’t necessarily the pick of the litter either. If anything it would have been his brother had he been straight – and even then the girls still tried. She then started in about how she couldn’t enter Cendra without getting attacked. ”So you would rather live near Cendra instead with another man?” So much for keeping it under wraps.
He couldn’t help it. To him it sounded like excuses and as she mentioned the tattoo and her hybridism, he rolled up his sleeve and revealed his. ”You aren’t the only one.” He started though his voice started to tremble with agitation. He didn’t think he could hold it back any longer. ”If I get caught then I’m dead. You understand that? I’m dead because I stuck my life on the line for you. I went against my boss for you. I protected you. I cared for you. I nearly killed my mate for you and that’s not enough to prove anything? What more do you want me to do?!” She then said maybe he had feelings for Eriu and she didn’t wanna break up a family and that she didn’t know how to be a mother. Harsh behavior had never been something he had done to her and in fact the only reason he felt like shaking her was because she took his words and were throwing them back at him. ”No one knows how to be a parent when they first start and if they say they do, they are a damn liar. You learn as you go. Everyone does and If I wanted Eriu or anyone else why the fuck would I have even gone out of my way looking for you? If I didn’t feel the same as you why would I be standing here trying to plead my case? I don’t want her, I don’t want Lucia, I don’t want anybody else so why do I feel like you are rejecting me .” He stepped backwards. That family he ‘had’ with Eriu had been broken for a long time. His feelings towards the situation were different and he’d moved on. He didn’t want to go back in the past… he wanted to proceed with the future.
”I love you. I want to be with you.” his blue eyes stayed on her for a moment. ”So I will ask one more time because I won’t ask again.” It was here and now on whether she wanted to proceed with their relationship and if not. He wouldn’t come back. He’d leave here and she would have to deal with things on her own because he couldn’t stop his feelings. He couldn’t hide them nor did he want to. ”Do you want to be with me?”

”So you would rather live near Cendra instead with another man?” Her brows furrowed at his harsh words and Larkin stared at him with a confused expression on her face. "I didn't say that." She replied softly, her hand over her hurt arm twitched uneasily. She felt like she was being accosted for doing something wrong. What was it this time? "I made you angry again..." But then his words came like hail raining down. All the things he had done for her, things her presence had caused. She visibly flinched and looked down at her boots, her shoulders bowing inward like the curling edges of a leaf. "Nothing, Felix." She said softly. Her voice timid in the face of his angry words.
He went off again and this time she felt the need to speak up. "I'm not!" She said quickly, looking up to see him stepping back. It made her chest tighten painfully and pulled the breath from her lungs. "Please don't go." He hit her with the same question again after tossing all of her concerns into the dark. "I do, Felix.....more than anything." She took a tentative step forward. Her small boot crunching dried leaves underfoot. Her hands reaching out the touch the front of his shirt. "I'm sorry I've cost you so much....I never intended too." She fiddled with the fabric as she spoke. "I don't want to be with anyone else."
She leaned into him, her lips pressing gently to his own. But, she quickly found herself leaning closer. Her hands curling against his shirt as if to try to stop him from leaving her. The kiss deepening without her even trying to stop it. She had missed him horribly. She had never had Felix around constantly but there had always been the reassurance that she would see him again. Because she had left she hadn't had that. Slowly she pulled back, just enough to speak. "Where will I go now?" She asked softly. Her bright blue eyes still appearing a little hazy from the kiss. "I have missed you...I didn't know I could miss someone so much."

”You implied it.” He snapped. She said she couldn’t even walk through the city without being attacked and yet she was shacked up with a man name Carjen who lives pretty damn close to it. She then pointed out the obvious that he was angry and for a moment, his jaws fixed on top of each other sharply. Blue eyes were hazy and darkening but the remained the same distinct unhappy color. He felt rejected especially as she didn’t see what all he had done, he did it all for her. It was actions like that in which spoke of his true emotions and though he couldn’t really blame her for not knowing it, it still didn’t lessen the sting he was feeling. So he stepped back as if to physically pad himself in case she said something else damning him. She, however, seemed to quickly notice it and he could see the tears brimming her eyes again as she moved to close the distance between them. Her fingers reached out quickly to grab the front of his shirt and though he was tempted to flinch away, he didn’t. His eyes lowered listening to her speak and he huffed. ”It wasn’t anything I didn’t want to do so you have no reason to apologize. If I didn’t want to do it, I wouldn’t have.”It was a simple statement one that held little to no emotion behind it.
Only when she spoke the next statement he felt his shoulders fall and his body relax. That was when she leaned into him and almost instantly his arms wrapped around her leaning down as she leaned upward and met with her lips. He pressed into it just as she started to deepen the blissful kiss. He wouldn’t have stopped there had she not pulled back. Blinking back the hazy feeling in his head, lips still lingering barely above hers as she spoke. It was true, he didn’t know what they were going to do at this point. He knew well trekking her around with nowhere to go could be dangerous but the idea of leaving her with an unknown man in an unknown castle didn’t sound all that appealing either. ”I don’t know.” he breathed before pulling back his head fully to look at her blue eyes. He offered a small smile and nodded his head. ”Love.” he said. Or at least his interpretation of love. It was the feeling of missing someone you are with before they even left. ”What do you want to do?” he asked her. She might as well make the decision simply because he didn’t want to willingly say the words of her staying there. He couldn’t muster himself to say it. That felt like he was giving her away to another man and the predator in him was awful territorial of what was his.

It was so easy for her to get lost in Felix. In his touch. His scent. The way his voice made his chest vibrate beneath her fingertips. Her cheeks reddened but she smiled at the simple word he said that held so much meaning. She loved him. She didn't even want to deny it. It was the question that followed that made her frown. She didn't want to decide. She didn't know. Look how many things she had already managed to mess up just by doing what she thought was right?
She looked down at his chest, her blue eyes opening and closing as she contemplated their very few options. Her fingers slid up beneath his shirt so that her cold palms could rest against his warm skin. "As long as I am with you it doesn't matter to me." Yes, she liked Carjen very much. He was her friend. But she did want to be with Felix. Being without him had been physically painful and she didn't like the idea of giving him up again. As if on that note she slipped closer again, her hands roaming lower to hook into the waistband of his pants. She leaned in to brush her lips against his collarbone. "So you forgive me?" She asked against his skin.
She should be thinking about places for them to go. Not letting herself get carried away. But Larkin wasn't great at restraint, of any sort.

His skin flinched beneath her cool touch but his face didn’t mirror it. Still cool and calm though with a small shadow of a smile. She leaned in closer, drawing her body in teasingly that immediately got his heart ringing in his ears. He didn’t even know how she did it. The little rabbit was as innocent as they came and hardly had a sultry appearance that got men drooling… but for him… all she had to do was lean in closer and run her fingers and kiss at the tender flesh that burned for her. His eyes squeezed a little as he looked down at her as her lips trailed along sending almost prickled nerves. ”I have nowhere I am really staying though.” he said. His mind was attempting to stay focused but the way she leaned into him had his mind going to other places such as the curves of her body. The beckoning from her lips even though she didn’t say a word. That little white rabbit had the big black wolf wrapped around her tiny little finger. ”it could be unsafe.” he tried to reason again doing his best to sort through his thoughts. Her lips were now lingering on his collarbone and blue eyes fell shut as she spoke warm air against his skin.
”I can’t remain upset with you.” He admitted but he hoped that would not come back to bite him. He didn’t see her being as vindictive as Lucia and using it to her advantage but one could never be so sure. People change over time… and Larkin had grown more into herself within the time frame that they had been together. He was proud of her. ”I am just happy you are safe.” a soft growl was given but it wasn’t a threatening one as many afore had been. No, this sound was a pleased one. His hand lifts and brushed his fingers along the side of her neck feeling the beating pulse beneath the tips of his fingers. He stepped forward right into her as he attempted to nudge her backward. Head tipping low to nip at her lip. His mind was no longer on the matter at hand as he lost that ability a time ago but no matter how he thought about it he wouldn’t send her back to the castle with the other man… at least… not willingly. Larkin was his and he would do his damnedest to be sure she was safe.

He had said he had nowhere to stay and Larkin nodded although with a small frown. "I understand." She assumed it meant that she would be staying with Carjen for the time being. She wasn't unhappy about it, she just wished she could bring Felix with her. But something told her that they wouldn't get along and the last thing she wanted was for people she cared for to argue and fight. He said being with him could be unsafe and Larkin wasn't sure if he meant around him, because of his wolf or because he had nowhere to stay. "We could camp." She said with a tentative smile, worried that she would make him angry by pushing the subject. "Or maybe find another cabin? I liked our cabin.."
He couldn't be angry with her he said and she smiled, her blue eyes searching his face. "It is good, I mess up lots of things." Safe. He was glad she was safe. She was thankful for the same. That day in the woods when those men had knocked him unconscious she had been terrified. Not for herself. But for Felix. He growled and the tiny hairs on her arms stood on end. Not because she was afraid, but because she knew well that sound. A growl wasn't always a dangerous sound from him. It could be exciting, as it was now. He tipped her head upward so meet her lips. Nipping at her bottom one in a way that made her breathing quicken.
Feeling herself being pushed backward Larkin complied. Her eyes widening a bit when she bumped softly against a tree but a smile coming to her lips. She enjoyed their time together...perhaps a little too much. But one could argue that she was making up for lost time. She wasn't exactly young. It was cold, but she didn't care. Her small fingers began to work at the buttons of his clothing. Large eyes never leaving his face. "Will you let me stay with you, Felix? Wherever you go..." Her words were a bit shaky as if worried about his reply.

Danger was, of course, the very thing that made him hesitant on just taking her at least far more now that she was pregnant. It didn’t seem right to be forcing her to live on the move when her body was working overtime as it were. They couldn’t always rest when she would need it and he was pretty sure food would still be scarce until they found a place to settle down in. That was the problem that kept eating at him in the back of his mind. She spoke about camping and he gave her a small smile. ”You need more than just a camp, Larkin.” he didn’t want to make her feel like she couldn’t do things but he didn’t feel right making her sleep in the middle of cold mother earth. Though she did have a point, their cabin had been a great find, and however, he also knew she hated it for a time. She was so secluded and alone but apparently, she had met some man by the name of Carjen also. ”Maybe. I dunno.” he answered. The whole decision was utterly a heavy one because both decisions didn’t sound appealing.
No less his mind was easily swayed to a more satisfying topic. Their surroundings weren’t entirely warm and he knew how easy her body got cold and once she got cold it was hard for her to warm back up again but for the time being, he wasn’t thinking straight. He was thinking with pure desire. ”You and me both.” Which wasn’t that much of a surprise. Had he walked out without saying a word right? That was what sent her out here in the first place. He messed up with Lucia. He messed up with the job he had gotten into. He messed up with Lux and Eriu…. ”I’m pretty good at it.” His voice lowered but at the same time he wasn’t allowing his mind to linger too much on the sad parts rather he was trying to focus on the now. ”However if you can live with that than I am sure I can live with yours.” a small grin tugged at his lips as he ducked his head in, nipping her bottom lip as he stepped into her forcing her to step backward. The force he would have used on anyone else wasn’t there. Instead with Larkin, he was sweet, loving, and gentle. Her back pressed gently into the bark of a nearby tree as another set of pleased growls slithered up his throat. He’d missed his time with Larkin. Of course, though he knew it wouldn’t last anything good for him ever last for right now he would take what time he had left with the good.
His hands explored, moving from his sides and now down towards her hips as she started to work with the buttons on his clothes. Fingers started to work up the skirt of her dress steadily starting to expose her legs a little at a time as fingertips brushing against soft ivory skin as he leaned in nipping at the spot beneath her ear and along her neck. His teeth grazed teasingly almost purring in a wolfish manner.
That was until her breathy words reached his ears which made him pause. She insisted still even though she didn’t seem to want to make a decision, she already had. ”If that is what you want.” he whispered back. ”Then with me, you will be.” He nuzzled her blue eyes shut.
