Carlisle was no help when it came to fighting the men. Luckily for him they were much more concerned about the blade wielding fae than the rock throwing human with an arrow in his side. He managed to get one leg under him and slowly the other. Stumbling to his feet with a loud hiss from the burn and ache in his side. He heard Aislyn's call that she had them and felt a swell of relief roll over him. She was safe. Erin was safe. He almost laughed, so overwhelming was the tide of emotion. But reality came back in the form of a dagger pressed to his throat. "I've never had a fairy before." He said in an unsettling tone as he pulled Carlisle flush against his chest. Offering little room for escape. Angling him only slightly to the side to keep from jabbing himself with the arrow that still impaled the doctor.
Someone called that the child and the other woman were missing and his eyes narrowed in on the outnumbered woman. Pushing the blade against Carlisle's tan neck until a thin rivulet of blood slid down the blade. "Now since you decided to let our other hostages escape, you little darling are going to march yourself right over to me and drop those blades. Understood? Or I'll cut your boyfriends head clean off." Carlisle started to speak but the blade was pushed a little deeper and he froze. Being so rigid hurt with the arrow in his side.
Aislyn...maybe Aislyn could think of a way out of this. Or maybe Eriu could do some insane fae skilled fighting. Carlisle had no clue. But he couldn't even try to help at this point.

Her sword continued pointing at the man, bravely facing him even as he spoke. However he then caught Carlisle in his grasp, the knife grazing along his neck. Her mouth dropped in confusion at those words. Boyfriend? She resumed her stance, facing him with a serious glance. Despite the fact that she was surrounded, she kept firm. She had planned to rush in and grab the human, and now since the child and the woman were off into safety that was good. She was relieved to hear that Aislyn was taking them probably somewhere safe. Now she could deal with these guys and get out of there. But, it was a bit tricky, considering he did have him with a knife at his neck. She was outnumbered as well, and as much as she would have liked to see these guys go to prison... there wasn't much chance she could fight against them alone and survive. What did they want with the child anyway? Was it something they would kill for? She didn't know if they could be reasoned with, but she did say that Cendra was onto them. That was good enough reason for them to try and fight back. She had to continue with it. Her eyes glancing for an exit quickly, there was an opening into the thicket. But, it may be risky though.
Eriu's eyes slid back toward them. "He is not my boyfriend!" she exclaimed. "He is a good citizen of Cendra City! So by the honor of the guard, I shall establish justice upon you!" she called, and with a yell she ran forward, aiming to run into the man to hopefully at least distract him from his hold on Carlisle. But as she ran toward him another took a slice at her, feeling her side cutting cut from the sword, although it did not run deep as her torso turned, jumping into midair and swinging with a diagonal arc. She hoped to have it come face to face with the knife that was at the man's neck, hoping that he would at least be distracted by her. She could feel the men swarming behind her quickly. Carlisle had to run. Eriu then turned to the side, hoping to face Carlisle to her back as she backed away herself, however it was mostly to face forward toward all the on approachers and the one she was currently fighting against. She didn't aim to hurt the man, just hopefully to keep him busy.
As she continued to back up, once she thought the moment was right she would turn around and run herself, taking off into the thicket. Hopefully Carlisle had a head start. Her legs then picked off the ground, flying much faster than she could run. They had to hurry, as she could hear the sprinting footsteps of the men behind them.

It wasn't hard to find them again. The bandits shouted and cursed and broke through the brush like angry bulls. She lept a fallen log and could see them. She didn't pause but aimed for a somewhat open area a little ways in front of the bandits- interfering with the pursuit. Then she froze the way a wild thing does, framed by dark brush and trees. One or two of the bandits hesitated, slowed. She hoped it was enough. Just as one of them seemed to divine that perhaps she was one of the people they were hunting, she world on her heels and lept off through the woods. They could not catch her, though an arrow grazed her flank as she darted away through the brush, putting wood and distance between her and their weapons.
She wheeled around in a wide circle, eventually finding her way back to their camp. She dipped her head and with some difficult got the strap of her bag over her head. It wasn't comfortable, banging against her chest, but she need it. She could still hear them hunting for Carlisle and Eriu. She retreated back to where she had left the woman and child, taking a circuitous route to throw off any pursuit. She was confident that her woodcraft was better than theirs.
Come out, I am taking you back to the city. To her credit, the woman crept trembling from her hiding place. By some miracle, the babe had fallen asleep. She again mounted and under Aislyn's direction she pulled the healer's bag around. More carefully than before, she began to pick her way towards the road that would lead to Cendra. She could carry them more swiftly in this form if they ran into danger. Once they reached the road she would change and walk with them back to the city and to the good doctor's home- once they reached the road, they would probably be safe.

In their hysteria someone knocked over a lantern. The flammable liquid quickly catching and spreading through their camp. Lighting tents and things they had lying about. Saving their supplies quickly became more important than the man and the fairy. The child and woman were already gone and it wasn't as if they could get much use from a man with an arrow in his side. The fairy was more tempting but in the end they knew they needed to save the supplies they had worked so hard to get.
Following the trail of hoof prints Carlisle and Eriu would follow Aislyn's progress back to the city. The arrow in his side was thankfully more of a flesh wound than dangerous one. The small cut across his neck superficial. But once he held Erin in his arms none of it mattered. He would offer the two brave women what coin he had and remove the arrow from his side with trembling fingers. He would forever be indebted to the two women who had given him back his world.
"If either of you need anything, ever. Just come to me." He snuggled Erin against his cheek. Breathing in the sweet scent of her hair and feeling her tiny hands grabbing at his lips. This, he imagined. Was as close to heaven as he would ever get. And on that night there would be no dampening his spirits.
