The Kiss-  Mazelina, just like every other mermaid, has the power of the kiss.  Her kiss will allow a person to breath under water for up to three hours.  Her elongated time is due to her practice at using it, and the unfortunate number of people who died from the power waning. 
The Song-  Mazelina's siren song is a chilling, a haunting lullaby.  It is full of the misery Mazelina has ever felt.  It's power often changes, impacting an individual differently.  The notes in Maz's song can change its effects too.  Lower notes--seeming to come from the ocean itself--tend to encourage sailors to wreck their ships, or jump overboard, while higher notes break through the walls of peoples minds.

  Mazelina has very haunting and angular features.  With rich raven black hair and piercing blue eyes, she certainly looks extraordinary.  In here human form, that is.  Her mermaid form is wraith-like.  Her bones jut out of her skin, and her form is wrecked with slimness and emptiness where it should be full.  Mazelina's mouth is most peculiar about her: teeth razor sharp at will where they should be dull and flat.  Her tail is a brilliance.  A midnight black sky embroidered with twinkling bursts of white light on the tips of every scale.  Her tail is achingly long, but suiting for her lithe body.  In her mermaid form, Mazelina is sixteen feet long.  In human form, however, she stands at 5'2".  Her human form is not nearly as intimidating as her mermaid form, and she prefers to keep a memento of her mermaid persona on her at all times--usually with a patch of scales, sharpening her teeth, or darkening her skin around her face and neck.

  Mazelina is an alluring female.  She loves to be admired and adored by others.  Mazelina is mostly stone cold.  She prefers to live out her days in the protective bubble of myth she created for herself, as she is rather illusive.  Mazelina goes with the more, "Shoot first, question latter" personality.  Mostly because she would rather rip into someone's flesh before eliciting words.  She is very cruel, and strategic.  While she would love to go on a blood-lust fueled adventure, she has her own agendas.

History:

  Mazelina was born and raised in a loving household.  She had grown very close with her mother, father, two younger sisters, and four older brothers.  Family had been the entire basis of her live.  One day, as the family had gone out for a swim, a plethora of humans cast their fishing nets into the water, ensnaring Mazelina's mother, two brothers, and her youngest sister.  The remaining group of the family had turned towards vengeance to seek payment for the lives the humans had taken.  Although her father had since passed, and her last two brothers abandoned their quest for revenge, Mazelina continues her quest, killing nearly every human she comes across in the open waters of the ocean.

  Mazelina refuses to live among the ranks of the other merfolk.  As she already looks so different from the others, she prefers to sit in her solace and hunt whenever she pleases.  In her mermaid form, Maz usually skips donning any type of top.  In human form, she prefers the comfort of leathers and armor to heighten her appearance.  Maz has a strong affinity for all types of weapons, namely daggers--multiple always on her person--and poisons.
