Appearance:
Anselm is a of a muscular build, though stands at the very typical dwarven height of 4'1.5". The half inch matters. His hair, long and always perfectly brushed and quaffed is dirty blond in color and falls just below his shoulders. He keeps one side of his head shaved simply because it seems to be the style, now. He keeps up with the dwarf stereotype of having a lush beard and mustache, matching in color to his hair, though he keeps his well trimmed and often spritzes women's perfume into it so that as he sweats during the day, others will not smell his dirtiness. His eyes are a light brown surrounded by a thick rim of lashes. His body is almost entirely covered in tattoos, markings that in some way or another, symbolize the struggles he incurred as a younger dwarf.

He wears a series of silver rings on his fingers, souvenirs from his sister's travels. He typically wears a black coat, a white, brown, or black cotton shirt and a pair of dress pants. When working, he removes his shirt to avoid stains, though he does wear a rubber apron to protect his skin from stray embers.

Personality:
Anselm is very detail oriented and perhaps borderline compulsive about perfection, specifically when it comes to his trade. He spends hours on end creating the perfect weaponry that is both exquisite in its ability to perform but a work of true art. though, while he throughly enjoys his craft and puts his soul into every weapon he forges, he is not the type to wantonly use weaponry for any reason except necessity. Anselm is in no way a pacifist, he just does not believe in wasting energy unless he needs to. He is much more likely to act defensively than offensively in a battle, especially because he is a master in not only his craft but in using his battle axe. He prefers not to take another's life when he can avoid it. However, it may be of importance to note that his reluctance to kill does not come from a love or respect for life but a reluctance to incur the blood stains on his clothing. Despite the fact that exercise makes him filthy, Anselm puts great stock in training in order to keep up with his physique.

Anselm is a man of few words, and when he does choose to speak, the words are usually drenched in sarcasm. Many view him as rude and coarse, perhaps he is. though he is always truthful. Adding to his rude reputation, he is quite arrogant and narcissistic. Appearances in general are very important to Anselm. If someone looks unkempt, he will more than likely aid them in looking their best, not for their benefit of course, but for his own benefit. He prefers to see beauty and ugliness annoys him. He is also the type to go out of his way to make sure the items around him are both symmetrical and perfectly straight.

History:
Born into severe poverty, Anselm and his twin sister Emestine endured a life of struggle and constant mockery from other dwarves for an unsuccessful dwarf is a useless dwarf. Anselm's father, Thadren, was not only officially unemployed, but he was a notorious vagrant and drunk. Their mother, Maria, died in childbirth. While their father had a home, he was often gone for long periods of time spending the money Anselm had struggled to earn doing odd jobs. Eventually, he pulled himself up by his boot straps and began to refuse giving his father money when he would return home. He saved his money and bought into a blacksmith apprenticeship. Through years of study and careful practice, Anselm quickly became well known for his superb quality of work. As time passed, he became the absolute authority in his craft and worked his way up to Master Blacksmith. Once word got around how expensive (but well worth the price) Anselm's weaponry was, Thadren soon caught wind of how well off his son now was. True to form, the low life weaseled into Anselm's new home and demanded money or he would ruin his son's now golden reputation. Absolutely unwilling to kneel to his father's will, Anselm injured his father quite severely and personally escorted him out of his home. He left him outside in the gutter to bleed. When he awoke in the morning, his father was gone. Where he is or if he is alive is a current and chosen mystery to Anselm.

Now that Anselm no longer needed to struggle for money, his priorities were able to shift from earning coin to providing the best life for his beloved sister and crafting the perfect weapon, a feat he has yet to complete.

Miscellaneous:
Anselm carries a battle axe that he forged himself. He named her Echo for her ability to hit an opponent twice with her double blades.
