[break]Dragons: Declan can manipulate air. Its currents and its destructive power are under his control. He is a wingless dragon so he uses his manipulation of the currents to fly. He can cause strong gusts that can topple buildings and uproot trees. He can create tornados is he so desires but it takes a lot of his energy. His abilities are mostly used for flight and only force when need be.

Appearance:

In dragon form Declan stands at the height of a small horse, he is however nearly 20 feet long in length but only about as round as a large barrel. He is very long and slender with ivory scales. Enlarged adapted scales can be found on his body, they are narrowed down and almost quill-like. He can 'fluff' them outward much like a hedgehog would in defense. Lavender and soft pink hues kiss his scales here and there. He has tufts of lavender hued hair on his legs and at the end of his tail which instead of growing slender actually puffs up like a fox's tail.

Declan's human form, much like his dragon, is not overly imposing. He takes the form of a slender man of only 5'8. He is fit bit lean, not overly muscled and obviously built more for agility and speed than brute strength. His hair and beard are dark brown and his eyes are blue but seem to shift to a gray hue depending on his mood.

Personality:

Declan wants peace and he puts the well-being of his people above all else. As a member of the council, he strives to keep an ear to the ground for danger. Making connections when and where he can. He is kind-hearted to a fault, although not unwise. He is well aware that he may face pain or regret his kindness one day but if it is a pain that he will deal with alone then it is worth the risk. He dislikes killing even beasts than many would consider unintelligent. He lives mostly off of plants of one type or another, eating meat only when he must. He generally makes friends easily and is not a judgemental man. A good listener, or so he has been told. Although he dislikes talking about himself or his past altogether.

History:

Declan has lived a very long life. Longer than many might expect from the kindness he exudes. Declan's parents both passed away before his hundreth to the war effort. It was a blow but he was not alone in his mourning. His grandmother still lived and the two would travel together for many years. Eventually, Declan was able to take his human form which made it easier for them to keep their race hidden. His grandmother however was an old woman even by dragon standards. It wasn't an attack that took her life but a mere scrape on her leg that turned into an overwhelming infection. It was losing her that taught him the true cost of life which was that you had to watch those around you perish.

Declan would stumble upon a small cluster of dragons after that and aided them in in their skirmishes with the other races. Trying to dissuade any outright attacks that they would plan. The years after he would sometimes travel alone, other times joining temporarily with others of his kind. Using his great gusts of wind to push their enemies back and stop the bloodshed as often as he could. He did kill. He hated it even when there was no option but understood that at times it was necessary.

His race was disappearing right before his eyes. Fewer and fewer instances occurred when he would encounter them. Thankfully the Force of the Ashes treaty was eventually signed and Delcan was named as a council member because of his wisdom and attempts to keep the peace during wartime. He doesn't always see eye to eye with the other dragons but he would give anything to keep his people safe. Since the treaty Declan has spent the majority of his time at his small cabin, farming and writing his novels that will likely never be read. Just enjoying the peace that he knows cannot last forever.
