Appearance:
In human form Kaya has blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin. She isn't as heavy as you might expect from a bear, but she is strong and much of her strength comes from her connection to her bear form. You might say she is constantly ready to shift or in an almost partial shift. Her tongue color varies between red and a dark blue. She stands at 1,70 m tall. She is clad in warm clothing, boiled leather and/or chainmail.
In her were-form, she takes that of a 134 cm tall polar pear with black eyes, giant paws and weighs an impressive 249 kg, most of it is muscle and some of it fat, which helps to keep her warm in the cold climates. Her paws are webbed and make her an excellent swimmer. She can run at an impressive speed in both forms, but in her bear form, she is more likely to over-heat and need to rest. In her human form, she will need to take breaks more often, especially if she is in a warmer area. When she is in her human form she tends to move with the same heavier movements, which her bear form uses to move around.

Personality:
Raised in a tribe of werebeasts in the cold and unforgiving Krizala, the woman has learned to survive from day one. At some points she is just as unforgiving and ruthless as the lands she hails from and she will defend herself, her people and pride with all that she has got. On the other hand, she is curious to what the world outside of the land of ice holds, how the people of the south live with the heat and what their customs are. She is more beast than human and she has almost no social skills or knowledge of how to behave, she greets people when she wants something from them, otherwise, they would have to approach her if she was invading their land or camp. She lives by the rules of the animal kingdom, the strongest survive and if she can have her way, she will steal your food, even you if she finds you interesting enough...

She is young and in most of her peer's eyes, she is untested and inexperienced. She has a wild streak in her and even though she follows the rules laid down by her chief and alpha, she is no opposed to straying further south, as long as she stays in Krizala she is breaking no rules even if she moves out of the tribe's territory. She is ready to learn about the world and she takes the opportunity whenever she comes across a traveller in the cold lands.
[break]The Frost Claw is a tribe filled with ferocious beasts, who all have found a home among each other, they are one of the more warring tribes in the north, they are slowly expanding their territory and they rarely back down from a fight or even the prospect of one. The tribe is also spiritual, they have a shaman, who guide them in the matters of war, life and if they have angered the spirits or not. Kaya has always been present at the shaman's readings and stories of the spirit world. This has developed her into a very religious woman, who fear and respect the spirits, so despite her young age, she can at times seem wise and insightful. She believes in Oedirs gods, but to her they are distant and she worships the spirits which reside in the ice, the winds, the sea and the earth.
[break]
She is easy to make friends with, but just as easy to anger. She might attack a friend for insulting her and the next day she might embrace them in a warm hug. Her enemies can find no mercy in her paws and her mind is hard to change once it is set to something. She does not really understand the concept of love. She loves her parents, her tribe, but she is still more beast than man. She is a nomad, she would love to find a suitable man she could start a family with, but she doesn't expect him to stay around or be much more than the cub's father. Her own father, a polar bear too, has more offsprings around the tribe and in the world, so has her mother. This is the norm for her and she is mostly controlled by her instinct.

History:
Atiqtalaaq was born in the Frost Claw on a full moon with a clear sky and with the spirits dancing in the sky. She was the only surviving cub of the litter between Natouq and Aliss. She grew up among the hardened people of the north, she played with snow leopards, bears and foxes as she grew up. She survived the harsh winter winds mostly in her bear form, only shifting when she was with the other kids and parents inside the tents and buildings. She grew up with stories of the Great Spirit, of Sila, Anguta, Akna and many more. she would sit at the fire with the tribe's shaman and listen to his stories of Amaguq who would take does fool enough to hunt alone at night in a storm. She would shiver with fear at the telling of how Qallupilluit took misbehaving children into the night and trapped their anirniq(spirit) under the ice, slowly turning into a tuurnngait(Mean spirit/demon).

She quickly learnt the way of the world worked, she knew that if you were stupid you would die, whenever she slipped and fell on the ice and snow in her human form the other kids would laugh and point fingers at her. The first time i happened she ran crying to her mother, Aliss said that it helped build character and that she would need to stop slipping or she would one day slip and be swallowed by the snow. So when another kid slipped she laughed. She tumbled with the other kids in fights and went fishing with her mother. The family was close-knit up until the day Kaya turned 18. Then she was pushed out of her mother's tent, he father moved away and she was left to fend for her self. She resisted at first, her natures clashing. She was a bear, ready to stand on her own four paws, but she was also a human who was a pack animal above all else. She had a choice to make and she chose to listen to her bear-instincts. She made a home for herself among the tribe, lived with them and wandered the snowy lands when there was nothing to do at camp. Often wandering closer to the southern border. She learnt to fight with s sword an shield from the tribesmen and women, she grew to be known for her strength and ferocity, which rivalled her fathers, she spent time with the tribe's shaman first to see what she could learn, then because he wanted her company. The young polar bear did not take well to his advantages and turned him down when he asked for her hand in marriage. Kaya sought her mothers wisdom afterwards, to confirm if she had made the right decision. Her mother told her she was too young and he was too old. No strong offspring would come of that union. So Kaya kept on living her life, still visiting the shaman whenever she wanted to talk about the spirits or learn how to appease them and peer into the future, how to interpret the dreams she had from time to time.
