Magical Ability:

Raven cannot speak words, however her Mage ability make up for it as she is able to speak to others telepathically, much like her Werebeast allows her to speak telepathically as a crow. Raven has mastered it in such a way that she can ask nature to help her, to keep her warm and safe as she sleeps or to protect her from harm, should she be under attack. The power become less and less useful the less nature surrounds her, for instant, in an area where you can find man made constructs and it is useless against fire.

Appearance:

What one is likely to notice first is her hooded cape, as it can cover most of her and is created from black feathers. Below it she sport clothes very suitable for her wandering lifestyle, with colors ranging from brown to beige. In case of multiple layers, darkest is closest to the skin and get gradually lighter.

Personality:

Raven is a woman with no place, nation or country to call home. Sure, she is a prominent member of the mages, but should they find out what she is, there would be no telling what would happen. So she wander the lands, fulfilling her duties as a mage spy, sending Niala to the spymaster with whatever information he or she requires. All the while looking for her father, the jackass who disappeared as soon as he came, no doubt he wouldn't know about Raven. Maybe, just maybe, he could offer a home where she didn't had to hide her true self.

She is both pessimistic and optimistic, on the one hand she believes that given the chance others will hurt you, in one way or another, however when dealing with people, it would be best to give them the benefit of the doubt. If she simply brace for being hurt she would shield herself from others and not open up, instead she does that and keeping an open mind, so to not push everyone away. This way, she won't be as hurt if someone do her wrong, but at the same time she let anyone in. It is a state of believing in others while at the same time not believing in them. Her integrity is similar to her outlook, in that it is mixed. She would be unscrupulous in her methods to complete assignments however she would be honest and responsible otherwise.

History:

Raven's mother was a free spirited mage, there was just no way she would accept the strict discipline of the mage academy, as it was after the treaty, so she left in the search for the hidden mage city, Mirthal. Though she didn't share their views on other species, they where all just people to her. She just wanted to exist, to live by her own rules and not the rules imposed on her by other people.It didn't  take long before she was out of clues, they where limited to begin with, however she did have a lucky break. A  Mirthal mage eventually found her, she was that close to Mirthal when she was starting to have doubts. Raven's father was a mystery to her since her mother never told her about him, apart from the occasional swears when asked about him. Over the years, she still knows very little about him, that he was a werebeast was a given, because otherwise Raven wouldn't be able to turn into a little black bird. He must have been a soldier, nomad or wanderer, because he was never found again and thus assumed to be moving from place to place.

Raven was home-schooled and kept inside, because others would not be so understanding over a hybrid. Thought  to draw words , to understand drawn words, she was taught history of the mages and history of the treaty. As she grew she wanted to know about her father, though her mom always denied the request, there came a day when her mother taught her about werebeasts, that at least was information about her other half, indirect  knowledge about her father. The thing that her mom said was most important to always remember, was to never show others her animal side.

Raven could not train with others, and she remained an outsider, even though she was born in the village, but it was only because she grew up in isolated from others and stayed away from others as she trained. Hidden in a forest, with to many trees to block others view from seeing hers. The only way she could communicate with words at that time was to turn into a crow and talk telepathically. as she grew up she tried to remember the feelings of being heard.  She often sat at the foot of a tree, in her human form, focusing and trying to speak with her mind. It wasn't until one day,se sat under a tree as usually, when her stomach growled and wished she had food, it was then that everything changed. It was then that nature moved against the wind to show the best berries around and they where bountiful. The ability to talk in your head, yet have others hear you, in a human form, was so very much different than the same action while in her crow form, maybe because it was two very different things while on the surface they looked the same.

What did she want to be when she grew older, her answer was always the same, she wanted to travel, she had been cooped up in isolation for far too long. That was only half of an answer, she wanted to find her father and what she would do once she found him changed as she grew, as of now she want to smack him on the forehead. There was however always a dream, the dream to get both parents together, away from the mages, away from the werebeasts and away from politics, to live hidden away from everything.

Niala was Ravens birth name, though few remembers it. She got the name Raven because of her pet and cape, decided to keep it.
