Magical Ability:
Teleportation – Khaal has the ability to transport himself to a place, an item, or a person of his choosing. As long as he can imagine the thing vividly, which means he can pop to places that he has visited frequently or recently, or shift to objects, especially enchanted ones, that he has seen before and/or has personal connection to(such as the enchanted signet rings). As for people, he needs to have seen them recently, and know at least a little bit about them – such as their name and other information that distinguishes them from all others. In other words, that one's up to the other character's player.
[break][break]
Additionally, Khaal can take one person with him. It normally takes him about ten minutes to recover from teleporting, and that time doubles when he's taking someone along.
[break][break]
As a side-effect, Khaal can sense how far away his target is, which means that with some triangulation, he can locate what interests him. Things get fuzzy with distance however, making this locating trickier the further away he is from the place/object/person.
[break][break]
Magical Items:
[break]
Signet Rings – These are scattered all over the globe, hidden in various holes where Khaal hopes no-one would find them. Enchanted to submit him to the bearer's command, the rings allow one-way telepathic communication to the Immortal. All it takes is a bit of will powered through the ring, and a command or wish aimed at the trinket or Khaal himself. The ancient man has to obey, though he is capable of twisting the order to his benefit in a "be careful what you wish for" kind of way. When he himself so much as touches one of the rings, it connects him to his darkest desires and drives him madly to fulfill them.
[break][break]
Khaal's modified signet ring – Khaal himself wears one of the signet rings, but he has had that one modified. Though the enchantment upon it couldn't be broken, the Immortal has found a way to dull the maddening effect of it some, as well as that of the other ones through it for as long as he has it.
[break][break]
Additionally, the Immortal craved the noise in his head so much, he had the trinket enchanted to allow him to read minds when he wills it to. Doing so constantly is taxing, tiring the Immortal's mind, and the number of people he's "listening" to also plays a part in draining him.
[break][break]
Skills and knowledge:
Culture – Khaalius, despite being mad, is a man of culture. Along the way he has gained an extensive education on various things, befitting a nobleman. In his free time he likes to paint, as it helps him keep his targets fresh in memory. He also knows how to play a few instruments, such as the lute and fiddle.
[break][break]
Battle – The man is dangerous, both in a battle and outside it. He is a tactician, knowledgeable of geography and map-making. Typically fast and lithe as any mortal, he also knows his way around blades, such as short to medium swords and throwing knives. His favorite type there are dueling swords though. As a nobleman, he also knows a thing or two about horse-riding.
[break][break]
Magic – Though he himself cannot wield magic outside his ability, the man has tutored many minds in the ways of the mystical. He has theoretical knowledge of many things magica, but especially things he has had first-hand experience with, such as blood magic, mental magic, enchanting and the like. In addition, he has also dabbled in poisons and psychedelic substances, both to harm others as well as for his own use and amusement.
[break][break]
Appearance:
Khaalius is a tall drink of water, standing at five feet eleven(roughly 180cm). He is lean and a touch wiry from all the outdoorsy wandering he tends to do. Though not always immaculate, he does keep his curly brown hair short and his mustache and beard trimmed. The man has blue eyes, piercing and always hiding a hint of madness within. Khaal rarely has anything other than a smirk or leer upon his face, to some hinting at his passion for all things life can offer, while to others his expressions tend to be unnerving.
[break][break]
He is a nobleman, and thus carries himself as such. Dressed in best silk, fur and finery money can buy, his every motion is one of elegance and confidence. Coupled with his soft voice and eloquence, the man always seems perfectly relaxed and in control of any situation.
[break][break]
Some of the things he can't be seen without are the numerous pieces of silver jewelry upon him, most notably several rings upon his fingers. He also carries a sleek, short sword at his hip and a number of knives hidden upon his person.
[break][break]
Personality:
Khaalius is one messed up cookie. Being forced to do things that go against everything he stands for over and over has turned the Immortal into a madman. To him, others have become nothing but playthings, and life itself has turned into a play for his amusement and heckling. It is all just one big game, making the man chase his next dark adventure passionately.
[break][break]
The man is cruel, devious and destructive, but for all that he can be rather charming when he wants to be. With a bit of an ego, he oozes confidence with every gesture, backed up with suave eloquence and gentlemanly mannerism, when he bothers to employ it.
[break][break]
Whether friend or foe, though he has none he would call either, he is at the very least infuriating to both. Capable of reading people and dredging up their deepest insecurities, he is known to promptly taunt and torment others with their weaknesses. Actually get in the man's way though, and he wouldn't think twice to employ murder, or worse, just to get his way.
[break][break]
History:
Khaalius is a cautionary tale of what happens when an Immortal lives for far too long. Once upon a time, he was but a young man, naive in his eagerness to do the right thing. As people tend to do, he fell in love with a maiden. Her family however, feuded with another ever so fiercely, in a conflict that went on even before the existence of the two lovers.
[break][break]
As their first born saw the light of day, Khaal, willing to make any sacrifice for his lady love, made first of perhaps many mistakes to come. The young man drank from the Spring of Immortality and vowed to keep his family safe. What ensued were decades of Khaal fruitlessly trying to end the feud, even as his children grew up to get involved, and his beloved withered with age.
[break][break]
As she passed away, the blow to the Immortal's heart washed away some of his humanity. He became more fierce and ruthless in protecting his family, learning not to flinch away from murder or any other vile deed, as long as it meant his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren remained safe. Though he did not manage to broker for peace with his foes, the ancient man settled for simply exterminating them. Thus, he vanquished most of his enemies until the rest fled. The family finally prospered, and Khaal became something of its ancient guardian.
[break][break]
But as time went on and generations came and went, his family members grew exponentially in number. Khaalius, despite being wise and old as he was, didn't see the next fate's blow coming. With such vast wealth, his own descendants began turning on eachother in greed and jealousy. In the chaos that ensued, one of his dear apprentices decided to try binding the Immortal to her side. Using one of the family's signet rings and some really dark blood magic, the woman successfully bound Khaal to obey whoever wore the little trinket.
[break][break]
Problem was the spell worked a little too well, latching onto not one, but all the signet rings in the family. At first, Khaal felt only the tug of one ring, forcing him to obey whatever command his apprentice gave. But as time went on and knowledge of the rings' power spread to others, the Immortal found himself dragged in multiple directions at once.
[break][break]
The magic tore his mind asunder, eroding his sense of love and duty towards his own as he tricked, maimed and killed his kin against his own will. By the time he learned to resist and twist the commands upon their owners, it was far too late for his mind. He embraced the chaos of it all, and the feud within the family became nothing more than a wicked game to him.
[break][break]
Until the ancient man himself got a hold of one of the rings, and truly became a monster. Where others wearing the enchanted jewelry meant they could control him, he himself wearing them added yet another commanding voice to the mix – that of his own deepest, most twisted desires. One by one, his kin perished and he hid away the enchanted rings, until only his own was left.
[break][break]
And it was just in time for another wave of the war to reach his lands. Lacking targets for his favorite mind games, the Immortal meddled in the war fervently, though never enough to make it into historical books. He was but a catalyst, a shadowy puppeteer to generals, noblemen and many others. Directly or indirectly, Khaal caused thousands upon thousands of deaths over the course of the war.
[break][break]
As the treaty came about, the Immortal finally took the ring off that made him a slave to his own every whim. He found someone skilled enough to tamper with the enchantment on it, and though they could not undo the spell, they have managed to dull its effect, while adding some usefulness to it. Since then, Khaal became more controlled, but still wandered the world, thirsting for the chaos that he once enjoyed so much.

Miscellaneous:
[break]
Sandrus Manor – Somewhere in the far north of Dryhtwood, close to the border with Krizala, Khaal has a large manor. It is a legacy to his family's accumulated wealth, though the building has become dilapidated and seems abandoned. The Immortal has only kept up with repairs in sections that he uses, and as a result the place looks worse for wear. Roof has fallen through in places, letting water in which bolstered vines and moss to grow. The vast land around the house has grown so wild over centuries that the surrounding forest all but swallowed any speck of empty space.
