It was another fine day in the ocean for Seymour. He swam along the surface, occasionally swimming with the dolphins that played amongst the waves. It was just another regular afternoon, however the sun be a high in the sky and he liked the feel of the hot air and the cold water splash along with skin. Well, his muscles. His powerful muscles helped him swim through the water, it showed, as he flexed while swimming along the ocean's surface. Who knew who might be watching, from the prettiest of mermaid princesses to the sailors of the sea. Everyone got a chance to see Seymour as he swam in the wide open sea. The only problem was, he didn't realize that he was completely alone. The other animals in the sea probably looked at him as if he was some sort of strange merfolk. But he didn't mind, as he thought that all creatures loved him.
He continued to swim along, alternating his strokes so that anyone that might view him could get a good glance at him from all of his angles. Well, maybe he was doing this more so for himself rather than someone else. He enjoyed swimming on the surface of the water, the occasional breeze blowing against his forehead as it bounced up and down in the waves. He loved the feeling of stretching his muscles, and even better, looking at them while he did so. He was so proud of himself, and he was sure to make sure that he would be pampering himself once he got back. One like him could be doing mercenary work, like most other mercenaries. Protecting buildings, taking jobs, killing others, stealing things. Nope. Not even close to those things. Instead Seymour chose to swim in a random direction in the ocean in hopes of anyone stumbling across him. It was as if he was waiting for some ship to come and sink so that he could save a pretty woman... Well, he might cause the ship to sink in the first place, because they all would get blinded by his handsomeness. After all, he was one of those dangerous sirens that many sailors feared. Though he didn't have to sing to catch their attention. A mere wink and many would fall for him.
As he turned on his back, he thought he saw an outline of what appeared to be, a ship! Finally, after all this time, uh, no, after all this swimming, Seymour needed a break. Perhaps they could lend him a hand. That was, if they all didn't sink the ship. No, he was sure that he would try his best to contain his handsomeness, but it was just so hard to. As the ship approached, he ducked his head just below the surface, his dreadlocks floating above his head as if they were just a bunch of discarded rope in the water. He waited until he saw it come very near, and he let the ship pass before taking after it as he swam behind it. With a powerful leap he jumped onto a ledge that led to the deck, and he wiggled his tail as he tried to make his way onto the wooden floors. He rolled onto the deck, sighing from the effort. He sat on the back of the ship, apparently unnoticed by any crew upon it, for now. He continued to sit as he watched the trail of ripples that the ship left in the ocean, glad he could get a free trip. Seymour made himself comfortable, as he continued to sit and watch as time went by, although it looked more like he was posing in a sitting position. He then felt a gust of air move behind him, and he turned his head to face upwards as a shadow loomed over him.
"Yes?" he smiled.

The waves crashed against the impressive vessel, as the Bloody Maiden travelled on through the waves. The wind was good and true today making the vessel travel at a fast pace. Parting the waves easily and making its way toward the shores of Scavenger's Port. The dreadful vessel had no flag billowing in the wind as most ships had, however, two flags were rolled up and fastened to the mast, ready to be hoisted up if need be. The ship had no master, it sailed under no colours but her own, depending on her target, the ship would fly the black one if it was a trader or any other kind of target. The red was reserved for the great slaver ships, indicating the Maiden had no plans to give quarter to the slave ship's crew.
At the head of the ship, a tall elf looked out into the horizon. The ship's destination not yet in sight. He turned and made his way across the deck, weaving in and out of the other working crew-members. He reached a double door with stained glass, he opened it and found what he searched for. A woman was sitting at a table, pouring over maps and documents. She looked up, cold blue eyes falling on the elf. "Captn' ... There be a problem with the new mate and his gunner" The red-haired woman sighed and pushed the chair out before she made her way past the elf and continued to make her way to the deck beneath. It might have been a mistake to take on the lad, but he had seemed ready when they picked him up in the Reaches. Her eyes grew icy cold, as she saw her newest addition shouting and making an infernal amount of noise for the crew-members off duty... "Aye! What be the problem, Balinor?"
One of the best gunners on her ship, so she was more inclined to listen to the man rather than the lad who still hadn't found his sea legs. She listened to Balinor, before she decided to drag the lad away from the annoyed glances of the crew. She grabbed the collar of his shirt with a hard hand and pulled him closer. "You are in no position to demand anything from Balinor. He is teaching you the way of the ship, if you can't follow his orders, how are you supposed to follow mine? Do your job and the adventures will follow... If ye can't then I have half a mind to throw you into the sea!" Her voice was stern, it was not the first time the lad caused trouble and she was getting tired of it. "But-" She shot him a venomous glare. "Go swab the deck!" She growled before she thrust the lad back and away from her. He stumbled, struggled to regain his balance. The crew chuckled and went back to their business.
The red-haired captain was walking back to her maps when a curious display caught her eye. Who she had no memory of ever hiring was sitting around. Sitting! This ship had enough to offer to keep the crew busy most of the day. She couldn't have anyone just sitting around. So with heavy steps, she made her way up the stairs and toward the very back of her ship. A hand sought one of her short cutlasses under her coat, ready to draw it. She stopped behind the man and shortly after she had laid eyes on his sunkissed skin and wet hair she saw the shimmering scales, which, without a doubt, led to a strong tail. He noticed her presence and turned to face her. His face was... handsome. Actually, he was a magnificent example of the mermen land-women dreamed off... Callista's blue eyes bore into him, he might be more handsome than the devil, but he was still on her ship uninvited. Her lips curled slightly upwards as she spoke. "What ye doing here, merman?"

He looked up at the woman above him, wearing a hat and the blue eyes were boring into him. Ah, they were blue, much like the ocean they sailed on top of... Seymour turned to face her better, adjusting himself as he twisted his torso around, to get a better look at this specimen. Whether she was a captain or a crew member, he couldn't tell nor did he care. For a second he had almost thought that she was a man, but he knew better. He flashed her a great smile of bright white teeth, to perhaps grab her attention better. "I have gotten tired on my swim," he said, exaggerating as a limp hand fell across his forehead as he tossed his head back in defeat. "I needed a place to rest." He then resumed his usual form and smile, looking back to her normally. "But looking at your beauty I feel that my energy is returning to me," he said, looking at her with wonder. "I need time to energize, so if I stay here and look into those beautiful ocean-blue eyes of yours for a few minutes, I shall be on my way." He looked into them as he spoke, the sunlight hitting his own, gleaming with a shimmering likeness. "That is, if you would like me to leave," he gave her a wink. Of course how could she deny a perfect handsome man such as Seymour? Now, that would be very surprising indeed. All loved him, how could they not? Even the most intimidating creatures had a softness in their hearts... for Seymour.
His tail flickered some water off it more, as he continued to look up at her with a devilishly handsome smile. Before long there was a silence, but... he was gaining his energy back or so he claimed. "Yes I haven't seen anything more beautiful than any sights I have laid eyes on, not even the brightest and rarest pearl in the sea can match your beauty." He was feeling awfully complimentary today. "I have swam in all of the seas, and nothing can compare to the scenic view before me," he gave another smile. "You must be searching for treasure, and you have found me." He then gave his last smile, surely to give an impression.

She was... Baffled, to say the least. The handsome merman spouted some strange nonsense which would have mad her cheeks light afire if he had come along at an earlier point in her life. She might even have been wooed and tried to make him hers. However, she was not the innocent girl with dreams of becoming a guard of high rank. She was the mermaid who had been captured. Beaten and scarred. If she showed the handsome merman her scars, would he still be spouting such nonsense? She knew her eyes were dead and cold most of the time. Her smiles never really reached the blue pools. Her crew had voiced their concern for her well-being more than once when they felt they knew her well enough to talk about such matters. It was only fair, since she was concerned for their well-being. A ship and captain was only as strong as its crew.
However, it did take her some time to recover from the strange and unfamiliar stream of compliments. She had seen the pearls from the sea, she knew how they shone in a myriad of colors. How they seemed to hold a tiny ocean within them. "I... I " She cleared her throat. "A treasure ye be indeed. You'd fetch a price almost as handsome as yer looks..."
She joked. She did not trade living beings. Her joke was visible in the form of a sarcastic smile tugging at her lips and the lightly exaggerated tones of voice. He would probably take her word seriously, but it didn't matter. She could always tell him it was but a jest. She didn't owe him anything and if he chose to leave now it was his choice.

Aw, the beautiful creature before him was flustered. It was adorable, considering not many could be so confident seeing upon the handsomeness which was Seymour. She spoke of him, selling him, which no price could be named. But it would be very high indeed. A hand rose behind his head, his cheek resting on his muscular arm as his eyes closed. "Oh, Yes I am sure it would," he said confidently. His eyes then blinked open as he looked up at her. "But ooh, you want to capture me. Alas, I cannot decline. For perhaps it is the fact that you not only captured me, but my heart as well," his other hand dramatically fell over his chest as he spoke. As if he was going to die of heartache if he couldn't see her again. "I have heard the tales of sailors catching beautiful merfolk like me. However there are the tales of merfolk who drown those sailors to their death. Do not worry, I am here to give you a happy ending. But, I can sing to you if you like," he then said, his arms dropping as he then turned around, dropping onto this stomach as he looked up at her as he rested his chin on his hands, looking rather relaxed indeed. He believed he had the most melodic voice in the world, however in fact it was more dreadful than any ear would stand. A siren's song he would call it, but it's effects were rather... repelling, than inviting. Nevertheless he still believed that he had the magic just like all the other merfolk. However he didn't need to lure them with his voice, when he already won their hearts in the first place! He believed in love at first sight, and he had already won the hearts of many. Just like how this beautiful lady won his.
Looking up at her in curiosity, he wondered what she did on this ship all day. Was she a pirate or something else? "So what is it that brings you out to these seas?" he asked, tail flipping behind him absentmindedly. "Other than searching for me of course. And you already have found me." Was she human, or a merfolk like himself? He didn't know, but maybe if they were the same then they should swim together, go and be more connected to their roots in the ocean. There they could find something in common. But time never seemed to be on his side.
