Dragons

(Dragons will have a posting requirement. Your first Dragon is free but to get a second dragon you must reach 50 posts with the first. And if you want a third then the first two must have at least 50 posts each, ect.)


From the beginning.... 
Dragons are perhaps the oldest of the races, many of them living thousands of years. But if there was one thing the other races of Oedir seemed to agree on it was hunting down dragons. They were too powerful and dangerous. There are few dragons left now and it was only because of the ability their god bestowed upon them that these survive. Dragons have two forms. One that looks like any other human. And of course their natural form of a massive scaly beast.

Because of their persecution dragons have become secretive of who they are, many haven't even shifted into their dragon skin for many many years out of fear. Their race is not a secret that they would tell anyone lightly because while there is a treaty now they fear it is worth little more than the paper it was written on.

In their dragon form these beasts can control an element. Fire,water,earth,and air (And variants of.). But in their human forms they are vulnerable and just as easily killed as a human. These beasts can live thousands of years in either form....if nothing and no one kills them. Their human form is one of their choosing and doesn't necessarily represent their age or sex. But they only have the one form and it cannot be altered.


Appearance

When dragons are nearly 100 years of age they are strong enough physically to enable themselves to manifest a human form. This form can be young,old,woman,man,child, and it doesn't necessarily need to correlate with the dragons sex or age. This is a form of their conscious choosing. However once they take their human form for the first time it can never be altered again. In human form they can be as varied as humans are. In dragon form they are all massive scaled beasts but some might have fins as they are better suited for the water. Some might have wings as they take to the air. Some might just walk the land and have massive horns jutting from their skulls. They aren't very restricted in this form either however only very very young dragons would be smaller than a human in dragon form.


Magic

In human form they have nothing, but as dragons they can control a single element. Be it to breathe fire or to freeze anything they touch. In the past mages would come to dragons to learn how to harness their magic more efficiently, something that is no longer done because of the war and the dragons now fearful nature.



Dragon Ranks

(Dragon's don't have a kingdom. Doing so would make their presence obvious and leave them open to attack. Instead they do have Elders and a council for any major decisions that would affect them as a race and these are very rarely brought together.)

Eldest Dragon: Nicodemus (Known to be one of the oldest and the wisest dragon alive. Probably around 5,000 years in age.)

Spies (unlimited): (they live among the other races to garner information to keep their people safe, normally they are in lowly positions such as servants in court to keep from drawing attention to themselves.) Maddox Sallos, OPEN




Dragon FAQs

-A dragons age does not need to correlate to their human form. Nor does their sex. This is at the dragons choosing.
-100 years of age is the youngest that any dragon has been strong enough to sustain their human form for the first time. After this first shift they can stay in human form for as long as they wish. Although many will feel achy after a long while.
-Dragons are (in general) rather secretive about their race. This doesn't mean your dragon has to be.
