A tail and scales didn't nearly sound as appealing as what Ymir could really do. "Only ever met one mermaid. She was quite lovely." there was something wild and mythical about the merfolk who lived under the sea. Sure werebeasts were interesting but a race that could live and breathe underwater? There was something very enchanting. However, the young merwoman was as much trouble as what he saved her from. "I think this suits you." he said nodding his head. He really was far too kind for his own good, wasn't he? Then again he just accepted people for who they are. They could be badly deformed and he wouldn't in the least bit care. He could see the red forming on the young man's cheeks now. Awe, did he make him blush? He chuckled quietly as a small stutter came from Ymir. "You are a little red there in the face, you okay?" It was said with a playful expression, his brow quietly arching. He found Ymir to be fascinating and wanted to know more about him. It wasn't every day you get a chance to speak to someone quite like him.
At the mention of his power, he hesitated a little but he supposed if he didn't judge the young mage then what were the possibilities he would judge him? "I have a very tricky power that if I physically touch them and make eye contact." he stated. "If I do and I am welcomed, I can see memories and remove them or add different ones. If I am not welcomed by the person I disorient them. Also, there are the nosebleeds I get every time I use it." Eyes moved to the mare as Ymir continued to work on her. He gave a small careless shrug though it clearly bothered him. "Animals aren't affected by it. I don't really want to hurt anyone so its just easier to work with animals rather than people." It was a rather depressing subject for him. One he chose not to linger on for too long. "But it helped me find my passion." he chimed up again attempting to perk up. "You ever ride, Ymir?" He supposed it could have honestly been a dirty question if one had their mind in the gutter. Perhaps his was a little but it wasn't attempting to put it there. "I mean you seem to have a way with working with horses after all. You seem to be a natural."

A small smile crossed his lips, though his look could’ve easily been described as wistful. “From what I remember of my mother, she was that. My father didn’t like talking about her much after she died, however.” Ymir was just glancing down again, attempting to decide how to go about dealing with the horse’s ailment, when Enzo remarked his next comment. Had his face not already been red, Enzo would’ve surely made another follow up regarding the blush. Momentarily side-stepping from the horse, he coughed, patting his chest as if to dismiss it. Some stray straw stuck to his shirt from where his hand made contact, which Ymir paid no mind to. “It’s dusty in here is all..”
He turned then, putting his back to the other man. Slowly, surely, the heat would leave his face. With a steadying breath, he seemed to decided the best plan of attack. The abscess… it would need drained. Reaching into the small pouch at his side, he took a pinch of a small herb from some unseen container, and again reached into the creature’s mouth, pressing the paste there. It would have a numbing effect, which would hopefully prevent a bite or a kick when he lanced the angry growth.
Hearing Enzo then working to describe his power, Ymir’s brows first drew together, then smoothed. Well, if that wasn’t intriguing. “I can understand how that could be… difficult to manage.” He murmured, seeming to contemplate for a moment. Glancing back to Enzo, his fingers still lingering in the horse’s mouth (for the animal had ceased any protest almost as soon as the herb had entered it’s mouth), Ymir titled his head. The look on his face was warm, his eyes bright at the prospect of a thought. “Would you be opposed to showing me when I’m finished up with the horses? My job at the school… I help people learn how to control their abilities better. If you say no, that’s okay. But I could help if your nose were to bleed, too.” He offered a small, pleasant smile.
And then came the question of him riding. Any innuendo soared straight over the man’s head, which he shook, maybe a little forcefully. “We’ve never had horses. They were too expensive, and there wasn’t a need when we moved back into mage territory. And, ah… I mean, animals have always seemed to like me. I’m not sure why.” The praise – he seemed flustered, unsure of how to manage it.

Dust, right. However he let Ymir get by with it and just chuckled at him. It was his best cover up he could come up with and so he wouldn’t make matters worse even if he did want to poke at the mage a little more. ”Well I am sorry to hear about your mother. My mother passed away also no father to speak of but my mother was a wondrous woman.” He highly respected her as she had done as much as she could to be sure Enzo grew up well and grow up well he did. He became an honest hard working man who wouldn’t harm a fly unless in the best interest of the situation. Humble and wise was what he would like to think of himself as.
Ymir had his back towards him and his eyes wandered a little taking in this new… form. Attractive much like the small agile female but this one was a bit more lean… built… and perhaps a little easy on the eyes. He didn’t mind male or female to be honest it wasn’t gender he was attracted to anyways. Besides Ymir and the way he reacted to him was far enough for Enzo to find the little mage rather adorable. Still the topic ended up going off of Ymir and onto him and he couldn’t say he liked the spotlight very much at least not on the topic at hand. He would rather talk anything but his nagging power. As he spoke about wanting to show him this power, Enzo found himself frowning a bit. He didn’t really wanna say no especially if this was a chance to get some gain on his power but at the same time he really didn’t want to accidentally hurt Ymir either. ”I really don’t like the idea primarily because I don’t want to render you unconscious. Unless of course you have a memory you want removed?” he tipped his head a moment. ”Only if you are absolutely certain…. This is something I have struggled with for so long. I haven’t been able to receive help on the matter. It’s just been a burden.”

Ymir had a fleeting thought of appreciation for the fact that the man didn’t goad him on. In fact, the sensitivity of his reply actually caused him a small smile. “I’m sorry for your loss. I wish I remembered my own more…” He trailed off a moment, thoughts a little wistful, before he continued. “It’s good that you can speak so highly of her. It sounds like she did well by you.” A fleeting glance, and a small smile.
He was oblivious to Enzo’s wandering eye. Too preoccupied as it were. Reaching for the pouch at his waist, he retrieved his implement of choice: a small scalpel, perhaps only as long as his index finger. Adjusting his grip, pressing the back of the implement against his forefinger, and using his thumb to potentially shield any slippage that might haphazardly cut the animal, he lowered himself down. Peering into a now slackened mouth, his fingers worked in, knuckles brushing the protruding absess. With a quick, lancing flick, the scalpel met the bulge. At once a flood of unpleasantly scented ooze surged over his fingers, faster than the speed with which Ymir drew his hand away. Flicking it, attempting to brush his hand clean on some straw, he gave the mare a pat before reaching for the pouch again. Gathering a different herbal concoction, he waited for the wound to drain. All the while, the mare hardly flinched; the first herbal remedy had done its job.
The mage’s head tilted in thought, as his eyes finally found the other man again. The smile that slowly spread over his face was pleasant, albeit sympathetic. “I can’t say I have any memories to be done away with, but I do think… I mean, I have experience enough that I might be able to resist falling unconscious.” He shrugged, fidgeting with the herbal remedy that had replaced the scalpel in his hand. “I really don’t mind being a test subject if it helps you at all. I do it for students all the time.”
