❝ you use to be this boy i loved and i use to be the girl of your dreams ❞
Noelle didn't know how long she had been running and she wasn't sure that she really had a plan. She didn't know how many times she wanted to just stop running and black out. She could no longer count how many times she had stopped and thrown up. She just knew she had to get away and she had to keep running. Her heart was racing and for the first time she wished she could use her powers on herself , but she couldn't focus enough on anything but the pain. Her arm felt like it was on fire , it had to be broken but she wasn't sure. She couldn't think about what just happened. Everything had been going so well and maybe that was her problem. She couldn't possibly have thought that things would go that easily being in the kingdom with the human king. And Romeo ... she knew that wasn't him. She knew that he wouldn't have attacked her like that but her heart ached. She felt like it was pounding out of her chest.
It felt like she had been walking for hours until she recognized where she was , she was in Cendra City. She was close to her father's house and she felt a little bit of relief come across her. Bleeding. She was bleeding everywhere. Her dress was ripped and her hair was a mess. How much blood had she lost ? She wasn't sure. Dragging her feet along she brought her hand up to knock on the door but she could only buid enough strength for one. She leaned against the door waiting for her father to answer and when he did , she fell into the hallway of his home. Her eyes closing as her head hit the wooden floors. It was the middle of the night , she could hear her father's daughter and wife scream.
Her father picked her up and took her to her room. A room that had been hers since the day he found out about her. He let his wife and sister bathe her , and wrap her wounds. They put her into a long silk nightgown and brushed her hair. It was nice to have someone to care for once , Noelle wasn't sure if her mother had made it out and she didn't know how she felt about it really. When she did awaken her dad was sitting by her side , she blinked. It was the first time she had seen the man without a smile on his face or a mischievous gleam in his eyes. She told him what happened , he agreed that he felt like it was the human's doing but he didn't say much after besides rest. Noelle's green eyes followed her dad out of the dark room as best as she could as she snuggled into bed. The pain wasn't as bad. Mainly doing to cleaning it up and closing off the wounds. Her mind was racing and even though she was in pain she was worried about Romeo. Her emotions were all over the place. She thought she loved him - she thought.

It had taken awhile for the rabid part of his brain to shut off but it hadn’t been without him causing some problems for some bystanders. Those innocent bystanders were probably what had kept him from actually reaching Noelle in that specific time frame before the magical curse had worn off. Now that it had the wolf felt terrible for the problems he had caused. He couldn’t remember much as a lot of it was fuzzy but he had known he had done something. Even the taste of Noelle’s blood was in his mouth that had mixed with others.
He had gone home and thought about leaving it there until the next day but he worried himself. His mind was racing with the what-ifs of what he could have actually done to Noelle. Had he severely hurt her? Was she even okay? He was angry at what had happened at the ball but particularly he was angry at himself for letting it get to him. There, of course, was no way he could have controlled it and subconsciously he did know that. He knew it would have happened whether he wanted to or not but at the same time he knew he shouldn’t have gone. If he had actually hurt her he wasn’t sure he would be able to forgive himself for it.
The night had been perfect, almost too perfect, and usually, when that happened it meant something was going to sour it. There were no good nights for the assassin. For people like him, those were just buffers of false hope. People like him didn’t deserve good fortune and happy endings because look at all the problems they do cause.
Throwing on some clothes he decided he couldn’t just sit there and wait for the night to pass. He was sure he had more control over himself now. Whatever it was it lasted for what seemed to only be an hour.He hadn’t felt a tingle of any kind of side effects so he was sure he was probably okay. So he went hunting down her scent again which brought him to a house. She smelt like she was on the inside and though he probably could have somehow snuck in he supposed that would be the second option if need be – should they not allow him in. Heading to the door he knocked and was greeted by a man who he assumed was her father. He asked for her and with luck, he was allowed in and shown to her room.
He stood in the doorway for a moment, his eyes glinting off of the small bits of light in her room causing them to almost reflect with a golden hue. ”Noelle…. Can I come in?” he asked quietly. He wasn’t sure how she felt on the matter or if she wanted to see him but he at least wanted to apologize and see if she was okay.

❝you use to be this boy i loved and i use to be the girl of your dreams ❞
Silence. That was what surrounded her. She couldn't count the number of hours she tried to sleep after the whole thing. One would think that her being empathetic she could heal herself more easily then anyone else , but in this situation it was not the case. She had been up for hours now , only getting to rest her eyes for a short while before she was scaring herself out of her slumber. Her dreams were all the same now , the moment Romeo had changed and she couldn't help him. When he had grabbed hold of her arm , the only thing on her mind was not hurting him then either. But that didn't change the damage that was done. She wasn't sure how this would affect their relationship. It felt like that had made so much progress , only to be behind where they even started.
A sling was on her arm , one that her father had wrapped up for her and changed every so often when needed to. The bleeding had just come to stop , as she tried to find the best way to lay to be comfortable. Hours passed by - and she was doing the same routine. In and out of sleep. On her face you could tell that something was wrong - her usual smirk didn't rest on her lips. She was more to herself then before , people wanted to come in and talk .. but she didn't want to talk. Not yet. She just wanted to be alone.
Her room was bright and colorful , most people that knew her probably would've though she liked dark or neutral colors. There were light blues , yellows and white in her room. Dream catchers on her walls , they seemed like they didn't work though. A sigh escaped her lips as she closed her eyes. Sitting up in bed in a dark room , closed off by curtains. Then she heard his voice. She whimpered slightly , her first reaction as she took her free arm to cradle her broken one. Opening her eyes one at a time. " Sure. " , she said with no real emotion. A part of her want to jump and grab him... he was okay. He made it out when she heard a lot of beings died. Of all races. Especially werebeasts that were killed by the guard. " Shut the door behind you. " , she added as she motioned her head for him to shut it. " What are you doing here Romeo ? How did you even find me?", she asked him as she furrowed her eyebrows and looked at him. She was excited , scared and embarrassed all at once. She pulled the covers up further , covering herself. She was wearing a burgundy silk night gown and she knew her hair was a mess. For the first time in a long time she didn't care.Notes: eeek ! so sad lol XD

He stood there pretty much at her mercy on whether or not if she would talk to him or shoo him away. Standing there a little awkward he took in a moment to look around her room before fully stepping in when she agreed and told him to shut the door. He did as he was told, quietly pushing it shut behind him as he stepped backward. Her question caused him to fumble around with words in his head. ”Checking on you… I guess.” Finally stepping away from the door he headed towards her and fell into a seat in a chair close to the bed. She looked like she was okay and wasn’t all that badly hurt, thankfully. ”And apologize.” he said. ”I don’t-... I have never done something like that. Not since I was young…. Lose control. I just don’t know what came over me.” He was a man of nothing but control. He lived his life that way in order to avoid messes like this but it seems his training, his hard work hadn’t been enough.
”Your scent isn’t that hard to track.” he gave her a weak but humorless smile. ”Wolf.” he pointed at himself before sinking back into the chair and furrowing his brows. He kept replaying the night over and over again in his head. ”I didn’t hurt you too badly did I? I don’t remember much.” and what little he did remember was her screaming and the taste and smell of her blood. He breathed through his nose feeling a stress headache coming on him. ”Was probably a mistake coming here. Wasn’t it? I’m sorry…. I just-- I don’t know.” ooc: sorry so short! awkward romeo is hard to write lol.

❝&i you use to be this boy i loved and i use to be the girl of your dreams ❞
The best part of Noelle knew that Romeo had not been in control of what happened , that wasn't like him. The whole room had been chaotic , there was no way that all the werebeasts just turned willingly. There had been those that had been with their spouses , loved ones , family and they had done the same thing to the people they had brought along. There was no way that Romeo had control of himself and she knew that. She didn't think that he would come and see her though. In her mind she knew neither had done nothing wrong but parts of her mind was playing tricks on her. Noelle was glad to see him , she was glad that he was okay after it all. She had wanted to stay but she knew she couldn't. She knew that if she had stayed , her injuries would be far worse then what they were. Not only because of Romeo , but because of every werebeast in the room. Not long after she had run out of the ball , there had been a dragon appear there. This is what she had heard. The event was all that anyone was talking about. From late that same evening onward. She never thought in all her life that something could hurt her more than her conscience, but seeing him in now and the look on her face would kill her. . She thought she would keel over right there if she hadn't been held up by the pillows on her bed. It was the most gut-wrenching, awful, hideous thing she'd ever felt. Even though before he had showed she thought she be afraid she wasn't. That wasn't what she was feeling at all. It was a mixture of relief , anxious , shock , a little disappointment and unknowing. All at once she wanted to spill her heart out to him. Tell him her faults, her story, spell it all out. But something in her told her not to, like she'd been keeping it in for so long that now she couldn't find it to bring it out.
So for the most part she sat quietly as he spoke. Romeo answered her question and she watched him shut the door. He was just checking on her ? That was all. Was that all he was going to say? She swallowed past the lump that was forming in her throat as she choked back the tears she wanted to cry but she didn't let it happen. "Oh." , she said softly. Her voice was barely above a whisper as she watched him take a seat next to her bed. Turning her body so she was facing more towards him. Then he apologized and she nodded. " I kind of figured Rome. It mean its hard to believe you would want to do that randomly with a group of other werebeasts and to me." , she added as she nodded thoughtfully.
He followed her by her scent and she let out a small laugh. " Right! My smell is that different then anyone else. I didn't know that. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" , she teased. She'd never wanted something so much her whole life as much as she wanted him. Never needed someone this badly. All her life she'd scolded herself whenever she became too dependent on anyone but herself, building a safety net to keep her away from all that pain. But somehow, it crept in. It infested itself inside her and grew from there. And Romeo was the only one who could get it out of her, take away the walls and make her right again. Because of that, she needed him so much. If all those years of suffering she'd endured just so she could find him, it was well worth it. He was worth it. She didn't know how to express herself properly with him - along those lines and how she felt. So in return she usually just gave him a hard time. That was there relationship though. Many people would claim they barely liked each other if they saw how they usually were in public , but they always at least ended on a good note. They understood each other more then anyone else.
She shook her head as she grabbed his hand out like it was a reflex. "I'm glad you came. What if something had happened to you? I wouldn't be able to live with myself. And I am pretty banged up. But once my nerves get back together I can do some light healing on myself so I can't feel any of the pain anymore. You nearly yanked my arm off." , she said the last few words fast because she didn't want to linger on it. " I didn't know you were so big in that form ! You're already so much bigger then me. I can literally ride you but the wolf part of you probably wouldn't like that." , she tired to joke though she was serious about him being bigger then her. The smile she had was lost as she looked at him. " Romeo can you stay for a little longer. Please. It's enough room in the bed to lay next to me. You could laugh next to me." , she moved over to make space. "Please." , she almost pleaded. She needed him around. "How do you feel in about that night? , she asked him.How do you feel about me? ,she finished looking at him with a worried expression on her face. She hated rejection and she would die if she had gotten that from him.Notes: so long , i'm sorry lol

It was a mistake to come but he couldn’t stop himself from showing up. He was even surprised he was allowed to come in. The man at the door didn’t seem all that enthused he had but he wouldn’t have stopped him anyway. Romeo would have made it in. Having the abilities he did could only have made that possibility even easier. He sat in the chair across from Noelle and was trying to keep his breathing steady. There were plenty of things that were beginning to build there and make it harder to breathe but he didn’t want to gush it all out. That wasn’t his style. The man remained in control of everything he did but with Noelle, she made it hard to keep that control. The longer he sat there and the more she spoke he felt the urge push harder. He was glad though she understood that it wasn’t entirely him. He didn’t mean to hurt her or anyone else that got in his path. Even his wolf felt shameful and he could feel it. The canine had his tail tucked between his legs like a master was scolding him …. Especially to Noelle.
He chuckled when she laughed and he nodded his head. ”Everyone's scent is completely different. It’s kind of like fingerprints in the animal world.” he explained. ”not one person has the same smell.” he wanted to say more but he stopped himself there. Besides what he could have said was something that would have made a nun blush. Her smell was entirely different than other peoples and it was the easiest to follow. It was engraved in his head that even when he wasn’t looking for her, he still found her. He rests his chin atop his hand as he continued to watch the woman in the bed. He was so happy that she was okay. He knew he kept going back to that same thought but the weight of the situation had rested heavily on him. He wasn’t a man that killed without a reason. His job, his code that he lived by, and the way his life worked.
Control.
”Nothing would have happened to me. People were more scared of me and ran. Luckily I didn’t get in a head-on collision with a guard or anything. I guess at least I had some common sense.” he forced a small smile on his face. No his wolf was more worried about tracking Noelle down and tearing her apart but he wouldn’t tell her that. In rage of losing sight of her was only then when he tried to go after other people. ”The feeling that I had when it happened is so unexplainable. I had this incurable rage over nothing and there wasn’t a thing I could do to relieve it.” he remembered the feeling it had on his head and how thoughts were blocked. He couldn’t think correctly. ”Even though I knew it was entirely wrong but all control was lost. I couldn’t communicate all I could do was act like a wild animal.” He rubbed his forehead feeling a little embarrassed but it was the truth after all. That was all he could do. All he knew how to do in that entire moment. He winced when she said he nearly yanked her arm off. ”I’m sorry.” he said quietly.
Her next set of words confused and startled him and though he knew he should say no as he wasn’t feeling entirely 100 percent but who was he to deny such a request from a woman he practically owed because he almost ripped her to shreds. The idea of laying in bed with her though was a lot for his heart to take. It thumped loudly in his chest cavity but he complied.
Slipping into bed next to her he rested his head back as she spoke once more. His eyes moved towards the door not sure what would be said if they saw him in bed with her, his mind going to everything else that made him nervous about this situation. ”How I feel about you?” he repeated. ”I feel a lot of things and a lot of them I don’t understand.” he never actually felt the way he does for anyone but Noelle and it was so strong and so real it was hard to put into words. ”It’s strong, whatever it is. “ he started it. ”And it’s a good feeling.” almost pleasurable but without the actual pleasuring part. Just being in her company was like a reward. ”You just feel different than a lot of the other women I have been around but most of them weren’t all that interesting.” he gave her a soft snort as he glanced at her. ”It never lasted long. They made me uncomfortable but you….” he rolled onto his side one hand holding up his head while the other found her unhurt hand and collapsed his fingers with hers. ”You make it easy to be around. Easy to feel and breathe and yet make me lose my breath all at the same time. It’s all very confusing really if I am being honest.”

❝ you use to be this boy i loved
and i use to be the girl of your dreams ❞
Noelle had been very much surprised that her father had let Romeo in , but maybe he just knew better then most people. Her father since meeting him had been a very private man about his own powers but helped Noelle develop her own. She never questioned him on how he did it - but it was nice to have someone by her side that understood her ability somewhat. Empathy. Most people didn't think of it as a strong ability , when it very much was. Noelle had gotten stronger the older she got , she didn't know how long she would live really because she was a immortal hybrid. But every few years her powers had gotten stronger. She was able to heal through empathy , feel over distances , make people feel what she wanted them to. Her powers were always developing. A little part of her hated herself because she couldn't control the situation they had been in - if she had a clear head maybe she could have helped more. But that spell that was used - was much stronger then anything else she had witnessed in her life. The force from the spell was so strong that it clouded the whole room's mind , not just the werebeasts. That didn't take away the fact that Noelle blamed herself for running and not staying to help however. Romeo explained to her that everyone had a different smell and you could read the curiosity on her face. She had never really met a werebeast before Romeo , for most of her life she had been secluded in the water to live in the shadows of her mother. The land had provided her with different experiences and different cultures. This was something that the see did not offer , only merfolk lived there. There were usually no other races visiting and no other races lived among them.
He watched her and she could feel her cheeks grow hot. The simplest things he did always made her nervous or shy. Those emotions were new to her. She had never felt them herself before him. She only knew the feeling because of her ability to feel what others were feeling. It was weird feeling it on her own now. Even though they could be at each others neck sometimes , Noelle enjoyed having Romeo around. She wouldn't admit it was often as she thought about it , but it was true. There was was still so much mystery about him and she wanted to know it all ; but she also wanted to unravel each part slowly. Like a good book , you never wanted to rush it. Part of it was much too overwhelming to take. After the decades of heartache, blame, hatred. After all that, one person could whisk you off your feet and pull the pain out from under you. Before today, Noelle forgot what it was like to trust someone outside of her father's side of the family. Trust. She didn't do that often and the fact that Romeo somehow made it through the cracks - it was amazing to her. It felt good to have someone else to be yourself around. She didn't have to pretend to be anything else then what she was with him.... and he wasn't disgusted by it.
When he spoke , she listened nodding her head. " While I was running... I could feel other's emotion. In a lot of werebeasts there was rage but a lot of confusion at the same time. It gave me a headache so I could imagine what it did to all of you." , she spoke with some thought behind it. "I know we never talked about me having a power before - I-I'm emphatic.", she had never really said it out loud before. She looked at him for a moment. Her green eyes resting on him. "I've never told anyone that before. It's a complicated thing. It just adds on to me being a complicated merfolk.", she joked as she let out a light laugh. It felt nice to trust someone with a secret she had been keeping in a for a while. " This is what makes me such a good healer." , she added with a small smile.
Noelle asked him to lay next to her - not to leave. She was pretty sure that her father wouldn't come rushing in , unless she was screaming for help. It was the guest wing of his home and neither would he intentionally invade her privacy either. She saw him hesitate for a moment before sliding in next to her. She laid her head on his shoulder. It was astounding, how one person could mean so much to her. If she were to lose him right now, she'd die. It was a bit dramatic but she believed it to be true. Romeo and herself were alike in many ways ; but they were also different. If something had happened to him she probably would never feel this way about another person , she probably would just waste away because she wouldn't have the drive to do anything else. Tragic. he knew he meant more to her than anyone ever had, and half of her was scared to death by that. If he could do this to her, what else could happen? She was so terrified of breaking this, ruining it like she'd done to everything else. However, the other half of her was delighted, ecstatic, in pure bliss just because of him. Because she had him. Or maybe he had her. Which ever way, she didn't care, as long as they were there for each other they would make it right again.
Listening to him speak gave hre chills - because she felt the same way. "It is confusing." ,she agreed with him. For all of her life she couldn't remember ever feeling like this. Like nothing else mattered, like all her problems didn't even exist, like sleepless nights and the hours spent crying all alone, they'd never even happened. Somehow, some way, that Noelle couldn't even begin to fathom, Romeo could erase all of that and replace it with the best feeling in all the world. She wasn't sure what to call the feeling - again this was a emotion she had never experienced herself. Most people would call it love ? She wasn't sure about all of that and she was afraid to ask. Biting down on her lip as she nuzzled into his shoulder , her eyes closing for a moment. "Is it suppose to feel like this ?"" , she asked him breathlessly. It was rhetorical but a part of her wanted to know what he thought. " People that are usually like I do - are in love. But its different for me you know? To feel something. I've been numb for a long time , I've never loved somebody. I just felt the emotions of happy couples walking by." , she spoke softly. She admitted it without knowing. It was too late to take back.
All this time if she'd looked at it from any other perspective she would have known. It was plain to see, obvious to anyone but her, until now. But she couldn't deny it anymore. Noelle had been struggling all her life to find hope, to find the reasons, to understand why. And now, she had. He was the reason, her reason, to be here. He was everything she wanted - everything she needed - he was amazing, he believed in her, he was charming and sweet, he was handsome and affectionate, and he wasn't running from her. Even though he didn't think he was any of those things , Noelle saw them in him. Every single thing that made her love him all the more, and every single thing she didn't deserve. She trusted him, with everything and she hadn't experienced that before. "Have y-you ever been in love before ?" , she wanted and didn't want to know the answer. Notes: eeek ! so sad lol XD

He had a feeling she had a power. Most of the people he did know did but there, of course, were those random rare few that didn’t. However being a mermaid or part mermaid whichever it was she was, he figured she did. No less he was curious about it. ”So you can tell what I am feeling?” he asked her. His head tipped to the side as he looked down at her on the bed. That was a little intimidating. He ran on the idea of being unreadable but if she could detect his feelings that obviously meant lying would be a little harder. Not that he was going to try to lie to her but it was apart of his job, part of who he was. The truth wasn’t something he always went by because if he did that meant a lot more trouble for him than he was honestly willing to deal with. ”Don’t most merfolk have some complicated power like that though? I figured most were sirens or something….. I always pictured ya’ll luring unsuspecting men and drowning them.” he scrunched his nose. ”Doesn’t help my fear of the water any.” he chuckled to himself despite how very true it was. He was a land dweller and only dealt with water when he had to. The moment she found him floundering around in the water passed out was about the closest he had been to it. ”Either way I find it pretty cool. I mean…. It’s better than just being able to turn into an animal.” He frowned a little and started to fiddle with the material of the blanket absently. ”People aren’t so welcoming to werewolves especially ranchers. There is a lot of hostility when they find out you are a wolf. A lot of racism.”
A lot of people weren’t so open to his species. Of course, they had more protection than the hybrids but it wasn't much more. Not from what he had experienced anyways. The moment someone knew you were a wolf they would naturally go out of their way to ensure you regretted it.
She nuzzled into his shoulder listening to her speak again. Their relationship wasn’t one he had felt before. The feelings were in-depth and complicated and nothing he had ever thought he could feel for someone. ”I suppose you can feel it ain’t a lie. Hmm?” he questioned her. How confused but how drawn he was. He supposed that was the good thing to come out of it. He wasn’t the best with his feelings let alone admit to them. She asked him if it was supposed to feel this way and he shrugged. ”I don’t honestly know.” he said admittedly. ”I haven’t felt it before.” But of course it wasn’t something he really needed to answer and he knew that but he wanted to. He wanted her to know he wasn’t toying with her feelings and that he genuinely didn’t know what it meant to be so head over heels for someone he barely knew. He had seen her only a handful of times and yet he felt like he could tell her everything she needed to know about herself. True he dreamt about her but that wasn’t anything he could go off of. He was never able to talk to her in his dreams. She was always there though. A side character, someone ever present but never the main idea in them.
”I guess I do now though.” he said lowly.

❝you use to be this boy i loved and i use to be the girl of your dreams ❞
Merfolk did have siren's song , the older the merfolk the stronger the song and the capability of damage of it. They also had the kiss that could grant someone time under water , both of these powers got stronger as the merperson got older Noelle was different though , she was a hybrid. She was a thing. She had never met anyone other being like herself. Sure she had come across one or two hybrids , but she had never met one like her. He asked her if she could tell what he was feeling and for a moment she hestitated. "Sometimes." , she spoke softly and thoughtfully for a moment. "When I first got it , I couldn't control it. I could feel everything that everyone was feeling. When I'm in danger or I'm in fear , that is another time I can't control it. Like at the ball. When I was running ... I felt everything from everyone at once. It can be blinding. For the most part I try not to allow my powers to work around you. But when it's strong , I can't help it sometimes. " , she admitted. Even though she was comfortable around Romeo she was still afraid of what he would say. She wasn't use to being vulnerable. Her mother had always told her that this was a sign f weakness and she shouldn't want anyone to think/believe that she was weak. They would use you and when they were done with you , they throw you away. This was something her mother had done herself , threw Noelle away and when she felt like it come back into her life. He asked if all Merfolk had powers and she shook her head. " All Merfolk have powers but they are limited to just the siren's song and a kiss to make you land folk breathe. I- am immortal. How immortal that is , I won't really know. My power is a blessing from drinking from the spring and I was chosen to have this power. " she said simply. She laughed when he said it didn't help him with his fear of water and she shook her head. " Oh , its not that bad ." ,she was obviously making light of it. She wouldn't push him to be in the water if it made him uncomfortable. She remembered her first time on land - and she thought she would die the length of time she had been on land.
He spoke about racism and she nodded understandingly. " The bright side at least you aren't alone. Folks can be nasty out her but at least you know what you are. You could find someone that can turn too. I'm alone. As far as I know I'm the only thing like me. ", she spoke low. She wasn't demeaning his feelings and if anyone could understand it was herself. Her mother use to call her a thing and it kind f stuck with her. Noelle was confident about a lot of things but not about what she was. " Do you all stay in packs , yes ? Do weres go with those that shift into the same creature or is there a mix?" , she knew almost not about weres besides the fact that they shifted. She also knew there were different kinds of weres. She hated to call them werebeast. The words just didn't leave her lips freely
Her head rested on him comfortably as she listened. " I'd try not to figure out if you lyng or not using my powers. I just hope you wouldn't lie to me." ,she told him. Tilting her head up a bit to look at him. She could feel her heart pound in her chest , as she continued to listen. She had always wondered about those dreams he had. It was interesting to say the least. She had never had that experience before with someone that didn't have that kind of power. Maybe a god was looking out for the both of them , maybe it was meant for both of them to meet. It had to be. That was the only way to explain it "Luckily I like you enough not to kick you out huh ? " , she ran her hand over his chest. "i'm glad you came Romeo." ,she admitted freely. She could feel her heart pounding again as her breathing quickened. He was the only one that could do that to her.
Notes: eeek ! so sad lol XD

It was scary to think someone could be in your head the way she could. Maybe not in his head as hearing his thoughts but knew whether or not that on what he was feeling. He couldn’t just tell her he was okay when he wasn’t. That somehow felt… invading though if one thinks even more on the topic maybe he was the type of person who needs that. He didn’t wear his emotions on his sleeves. Actually, he preferred to believe he didn’t have any because it made his life all the better. She could always call him on his bullshit and tell him that she knew better. That she could feel that there was actually something wrong. Yet at the same time, it made the wolf bristle at the invasion of privacy. A breach to his wall he had built up for so many years. It was to keep people out. It made his job and his life a whole hell of a lot easier. But wasn’t he tired of living that way? Wasn’t he sick of being by himself and perhaps wondered what it would be like to have someone to call his own? It was a very big thing in his mind. A big step to even decide on whether or not he could handle such a strong thing like that… as well as her. She also had a big decision ahead of her. Could she handle the wolf? True he didn’t have problems like others did but he was still there. He was still very much a part of him.
”So you knew when I said one thing and it was another?” he asked slowly. Part of him was nervous about that. His job wasn’t something for the faint of heart. He was a killer for hire and it wasn’t always the nicest way either. It wasn’t always his wolf who got ahold of the person he was to deal with. So that meant she could feel when he lied. She could feel that whatever story he gave her was wrong. It made him uneasy. He prided himself on being unreadable but this obviously wasn’t something under his control. She, however, said she wouldn’t or at least didn’t try to figure out if he was lying but he could only hope that was true. She continued talking though and he listened, letting her prattle off her explanations and what was on her mind. That’s all he could really give her at this point. He didn’t have a healing potion, he didn’t know how to heal her with magic…. He was just a wolf. A wolf that was scarily getting too close to a girl who could be in a lot of danger if she knew who he was. He wished he had been normal like his siblings. To have not liked death for money but he supposed that’s just how it was. Death was death to him. Death meant a paycheck. But if he brought Noelle into the middle of it then she would have a bounty on her head for knowing exactly who that killer of the night was. He shifted a little this time putting a small amount of space between them as he got off his side and now lay on his back with his head against the headboard. His body was slumped in the bed as he stared at his toes.
”Right. You are a hybrid. I don’t think you are alone out there. There are so many in this world you would be surprised at what you can find.” he said though his tone held no judgment. Why would he judge her for who she was? He thought anything other than wolf was better just as she thought anything other than hybrid was. Her next question him had him closing his eyes now instead of staring at his toes. ”Some of us. When I was growing up I was in one but I have long since moved on from packs. Some of us just don’t fit with others.” He said. ”Not all packs are just wolves though most animals tend to stick to their same species there are groups out there that are mixed. I almost joined one. However, I didn’t really see eye to eye with the alphess.” Alvina was her name. Though he respected her he just saw that pack life was not for him. What he did for a living and the idea of living beneath someone was not in his best interest. He didn’t follow orders very well… he hadn’t since he was a pup. The only pack he did have was with one another who was also a bit of a loner. A female by the name of Branwen. She put up with his grumpy ass only because she wouldn't let him get by with it. Though if they were being technical he put up with her about as much as she put up with him. She was a good friend to turn to though when he needed someone.
Speaking of her he hadn't seen her in a while. He wondered briefly if she ever got that wolf under control. He was going to have to go look her up once he got things here situated.
Her next set of words had him grinning. ”I'm glad I did too.”
