我听不懂 I COULDN'T HELP BUT TO LOVE YOU. Several weeks had passed since Larkin had been taking in my the kind Eriu. She found that she enjoyed living with the bubbly fae who was quite the cook. She did however still miss Felix, the short visits he made were all too few for her. The time fleeting. The time she was able to spend with him was what she lived for. After her time at the cabin she felt a little more bold and sure of herself when it came to the forest. And one day when Eriu was gone and Larkin had seen no sign of Felix she decided to go to the hunting grounds. Contrary to the name it would be a relatively safe place as all non humaniod predators avoided it. So it would just be her, the herbivores, and any weres that cared to wander in. It was evening when she finally arrived. Clad in boots a little too large, a white lace gown, and a large coat that hung down to her knees she was likely an odd site as she came wandering into the long grasses. Sending fireflies into the air as she moved. She had felt a little...odd. The last couple weeks. Not really bad but more tired than usual, drained. She thought some time outdoors might do her well and she had even managed to bring a book that she borrowed from Eriu's bookshelf. She would need to repay Eriu for her kindness one day, it was just a matter of deciding how. The evening light cast a bluish purple sheen over the land, like a soft blanket. The fireflies already flashing at one another excitedly before night had fallen. She had assumed she would get here earlier but had sorely misjudged the length of the trip. It didn't appear that she would be able to read....but she could enjoy the calm. Reaching into the small bag that was hung over her shoulder she pulled out some toast that had been made into a sandwich. Sweet strawberry preserves between the slices of bread. That was another thing, she had been more hungry than usual and felt horrible about it. She felt like she was imposing on Eriu and eating all of her delicious food....but she couldn't stop herself. Larkin took a bite with the soft crunch of toast permeating the silence that otherwise only carried the song of crickets. She was licking a bit of jam from her fingers and sitting down beneath the canopy of a very large weeping willow tree when the sound of something moving nearby could be heard. She didn't immediatly panic but did turn to listen curiously, her blue eyes watching for a sign of who or what it could have been. Felix "Volkov" Cairo请帮助我 ◈ MADE BY MINNIE OF GANGNAM STYLE NOTES. He was entirely glad Eriu had been so kind to open her home to either one of them. Between his past, with her and his wolf, he didn't expect her to be so giving. Seems he completely misjudged her. Not that it was entirely impossible since he couldn't say he studied her all that much. She hadn't ever been on the list so he hadn't seen a reason to. Even the most friendly could still harbor ill feelings towards something and nearly killing her, well, he wouldn't blame her. Aside all of that she took in his little rabbit and the debt for that could never be paid off. Being around in the home though was a little odd for him. It felt familiar and yet strange all at the same time. Though it wasn't a home they had shared for long it was, in fact, the one he had stayed in for awhile with her. It was one of his nightly visits though he took his sweet time going. Hands in his pockets and actually walking an enjoying his surroundings. It wasn't often he had gotten to do such a thing. Not while he was working anyways because when he was working he was always in a hurry. Things had to be done timely to meet deadlines the boss would set up and some of those deadlines were not always concievable. But he was no longer working for that tyrant of a boss and though he ran for his life most of the time it felt good to be out from underneath that mans clutches. However it was disheatening knowing Lucia couldn't enjoy the same fate and had to lose her life in the process -- as well as he was sure he had a pissed off lion to contend with now that he made a pussy cat out of him. He would have continuied heading towards Eriu's house but her scent soon hit his nose and it was leading towards the direction of eriu. He must have crossed right into the path she took otherwise he probably wouldn't have noticed it. Brows furrowed as he went following the trail he randomly by luck picked up. He could tell she was alone which was relieving but he wondered what she was doing out and this late? By the time he reached the hunting grounds she had already made herself comfortable beneath a willow and the cooling night air started to settle in. he could spy just the small profile in the shadows. He could pick up traces of food within the breeze which she must have taken with her. Perhaps the idea that crossed in his head wasn't the most brilliant but he was a little irritated she was out here by herself. She could get snatched by someone who had somehow found her. Furrowing his brows he ended up shifting allowing a large, lanky, black wolf to stand in his place. He nudged his clothing under a brush with his nose and then went stalking towards her. His ears were pushed fowards listening to see if she would make a sound. Larkin had never seen his wolf. The last time he had shut the door and hid her in the house when his wolf went out of control. This however they were working in perfect harmony. His large paws cratored the ground beneath his heavy weight as he moved around the tree. A soft growl was given. Could he scare her? He was kind of hoping he would but somehow he doubted Larkin would be intimiated she will somehow break all attempts of being scary. His lips moved up and over fangs as he allowed the growls to get louder, ears placing tight against his skull. He waited for a reaction. @tag - words - notes - muse WHEN I FALL IN LOVE I FALL DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

我听不懂 I COULDN'T HELP BUT TO LOVE YOU. The growls made her turn to see the large wolf closing in on her. She felt a streak of fear shoot up her spine until she remembered where she was. No 'natural' predators roamed here. This wolf must be a shifter of some sort to be wandering here. But...why was he looking at her like that? Showing his teeth and snarling in a way that made her hair stand on end. Was he....no...no he couldn't be one of those men from that place in Cendra...could he? Surely no one would have bothered to track her all this way.
"I'm sorry...did I do something to upset you?" She ask and pulled her legs up so that they curled to the side but closer to her and away from the large teeth. Her inner rabbit was trembling and it made her heart pick up speed. The mind of a prey animal taking a tendril of fear and running with it. It wasn't even a conscious decision on her part to run. To try to escape. But suddenly she was running. She stumbled and fell, ripping the thin fabric of her dress and tripping on her long coat. But she scrambled to her feet again as quickly as she fell and started to run again.
She hadn't even thought about running. But she was. Short thin legs carrying her quickly through the long grass until the shoes that were all too big caused her to trip a second time. This time going down hard enough to knock the breath from her lungs with a pained grunt. She rolled a couple times, a mess of long ivory locks, grass, and an all too large coat before coming to a rough stop staring up at the quickly darkening sky.
She didn't speak at first, just tried to get her bearings. One hand moving to brush her hair away from her face before she sat up to try to see where the wolf had gone. Hissing softly from the movement she reached down to gingerly touch her throbbing ankle. "Nnngh.." She bit her lip and pulled her knee up to her chest with a soft hiss.

He lowered his head allowing his body to stiffen; his fur was fluffed around his shoulders and neck. His tail held stiff out. He didn’t answer her as she spoke. That would give him away and this was only to be meant to be a lesson. He had no intentions of harming her and even his wolf for the time being was silent. He had been for a few days now which only mean that he would come back with a vengeance when he did rear his ugly head again. However for now, Felix was taking advantage of the situation. He could smell the fear wafting off of her in waves and could imagine he little heart rapidly beating against his chest. His jaws parted and a pink tongue slipped out from between his teeth and in that moment she sprang to her feet and went running.
It was a surprise.
The sound stopped as eyes watched her briskly run away. It immediately made the predator in him lurk with the need for a chase but he stamped that down fairly quick. She ran blindly and it only gave him time to duck and stalk after her. Eventually though he spied her falling and then falling for a second time. She gave a soft sound of pain which caused his ears to prod forwards. She was shifting around in the grass looking for him. Once he was sure she wasn’t moving around anymore that was when he approached her. She looked hurt, grasping onto her ankle with a pained but fearful look.
He approached slowly allowing her to clearly see him. He stepped with precision, weight shifting from one paw to the next until he was literally towering over her. A soft growl escaped his throat. Lowering his head as fangs still remained bore as he drew it close to her, lips suddenly fell and a pink tongue soon slipped out licking at her face. ”Are you alright?” he asked, his voice cascading into her mind. ”I just wanted you to see being out here by yourself in the dark is a bad idea.” He backed up a bit and allowed his rump to fall into a sit. The large black wolf stared at her with a mix array of golden blue eyes as ears sat tall on his skull. Compared to the shadows around him he almost blended it if it weren’t for the glow of his eyes. ”Why are you out here alone? You are lucky it was me.”

Larkin watched as the wolf came into site and drew closer, and closer. But she couldn't run now. Just sit there frozen with fear as he leaned close. Her heart was hammering away in her chest with enough force to make the vein in her neck throb rapidly. Her eyes were wide with fear and she held her breath. Just waiting for the pain of his teeth tearing into her flesh. But then a soft tongue was sliding over her cheek and Larkin turned to look the beast in the eyes. It was at that moment that Felix's voice entered her mind. She was still clutching her ankle and when he spoke she frowned. She was normally very happy to see him. But he didn't normally scare her like this either. "I was until you scared me.." She replied quietly. Her voice on the brink of tears. Just because of the emotional leaps she had taken in the last few minutes, terrified to relieved so quickly and she was scrambling to keep up.
She winced and pulled her leg closer to herself. Thin fingers sliding back and forth over her painful ankle. Her porcelain skin already turning an angry pink hue. "I didn't mean to be out so late...I thought it was a shorter walk." Not to mention all the breaks she had taken because she felt so exhausted. She looked back to the wolf and for the first time realized that she was actually seeing Felix as a wolf. She had never seen him like this. He was beautiful. "You're so pretty..." She said with a pained smile.
When he asked her why she was alone Larkin looked back down at her ankle while still softly rubbing it. "I've felt kind of tired lately, I thought maybe some time outdoors would help. And I thought I would be safe here since predators don't roam." Now that the panic was dissipating the kick of nausea came back full force. The running after eating certainly hadn't helped either. Her eyes widened when she knew what was going to happen. She tried to stand and get away from Felix, not wanting to puke in front of him. But her ankle gave out and she fell back onto her butt with a cry of pain. Doing the only thing she could she twisted to the side away from him and coughed before losing her sandwich entirely.
Once it was over with Larkin wiped the sweat from her face with the sleeve of the coat and looked over her shoulder at Felix. More than a little embarrassed. "I didn't want you to see that." She said shakily, feeling even weaker than she had before taking the trip now. "I think it was a mistake to come here." She said with a frown, her normally pale face flushed a deep pink.

He couldn’t say he was sorry for scaring her as that was his prime intention. He wanted to scare her and much to his dismay he found that he kind of liked that he did. However…. ”I didn’t mean for you to have fallen and gotten hurt.” he said with a voice was low and his ears tipped backward in an apologetic response. The fear was an easy thing to get sucked into as that was how he had hunted. How he had managed to nab different girls for his job. Though he was no longer working like that anymore it was hard to cut old habits. He ran on doing those trickery type of things that it sculpted him into the man before her.
pretty was the word she described him as which made him chuckle. ”You sure I am not more menacingly handsome?” Besides if she knew the true personality that was on the other side of this form she wouldn’t think him to be so ‘pretty’. That was a dark form that even he couldn’t control.
She spoke and he tipped his head for a moment as she said she was just trying to give herself a little ‘pick me up’. ”Tired? Have you not been sleeping well?” he asked. That was a little strange as he never knew Larkin to be the type to not just sleep anywhere. Then again she was also the type of person who seemed to do better on physical contact. Was she scared of something? ”Did the fresh air help?” He was concerned even though she probably couldn’t see it. He was more puzzled and attempting to figure out a solution. His mind going into overdrive and as he was about to ask another question she seemed suddenly uneasy. Ears pitched forwards as rump lifted off of the ground about the time she twisted from him and let it go. His lips drew upwards in a human mock of a ‘disgusted’ face as he stepped backward. The bad thing about being in this form, his sense of smell was so much stronger and so he could clearly smell all the contents that were in her stomach.
”We should probably get you to a healer to look at that ankle of yours. I know one that is close by.” He didn’t think she could get up and walk easily and his clothes was a bit of a jog west of them. ”You wanna lean on me and let me go get my clothes or you want to wait here?” he asked her.

"I think pretty is the word for it..."
She replied softly. He started asking her further questions about her health that she hurried to shake her head and avoid answering. She didn't like to make others worry over her. "I'm fine, really." But then her smile had turned sour and she had gotten sick. Once it was over she turned to look at him, feeling all kinds of horrible. She felt sleepy, tired, and now her ankle throbbed. Not to mention she had embarassed herself in from of Felix. "I can probably walk." She said tiredly. Not wanting him to be forced to walk back and forth just because of her.
She scooted a little closer to Felix and reached out to reach one arm over his back. While trying not to pull his hair she attempted to pull herself up. Whimpering softly as she straightened she gingerly put her foot on the ground. "I can manage." She said softly. Her fingers making small circles in his fur. She didn't pull away. Not using him as a crutch really but he would help her balance where she had one foot not working well.
"I hate to bother anyone." She said softly. She didn't want to bother a healer with her small issues, and she just wanted to get back to Eriu's so that she could sleep.

He stood still as she used him to pull herself up. His muscles tightening beneath his thick black coat as she measured her weight on her foot to keep her balance. ”If you need to lean on me, Larkin, please do so. Don’t be stubborn.” His voice was a little more demanding this time – sort of an order. He didn’t need her to be foolish while trying to walk on a sprained ankle that could likely break should she step down the wrong way. It was one thing to be prideful but being a fool in the process only made things harder. He felt her fingers in his coat and it gave a bit of a tingly sensation one in which he wasn’t entirely sure he liked or disliked. ”Too bad I am not a horse, huh.” The tone was a little bitter feeling a little angst in not being able to help her better but he supposed that was just the luck of the draw he was given.
Deciding from there that they would walk at a steadier pace. He moved allowing her to use him to catch her balance if she needed to as they head towards his clothes. It would feel good to switch back again. He didn’t like being a wolf for long. He could feel the angstiness coming on from the situation and soon it could trigger something he didn’t want to happen. The wolf could get too excited and act up so to him this meant the sooner they got to the clothes the better. She spoke about not wanting to bother anyone and he grunted. ”I want you checked out.” he said. ”so just humor me besides I have been meaning to make a visit to her anyways. This gives me a reason to go.”
He hadn’t visited the old healer in years and she would be excited to hear he was back around for a little while. She was probably the only one in the area that liked him besides Eriu. All those years back he was far more of a troublemaker than he ever could have been now but that was primarily due to age. ”She would be disappointed in hearing I was so close and didn’t at least stop in and say hi.” But social interactions like that, even if they were old friends, made him feel awkward. He didn’t know how to have an idle conversation without making himself be hard to be around. Besides Larkin would give him an excuse to think about her rather than attempting actual conversation. It was easier that way.
Once they reached his clothes, he told her to stand still for a moment before sauntering over to the brush. He didn’t bother asking her to look away if she was looking. She’d seen him naked before numerous times since the cabin incident so it by no means should be a surprise to her. Shifting back into his human form, he grabbed his clothing and pulled it all back on before moving back towards Larkin. ”hop on.” he said and turned to where his back was facing her. ”We can get there quicker.” and risk her not furthering injury.
Once she was on his back, he carried her all the way up through the woods. It took all of about 20 mins to get there but they got there no less. The hunt was tiny but clearly someone was still up and moving around. The door was wide open with warm lights coming from the inside. The smell of a woodstove burning with delicious food cooking and baked good smells on the inside. Quietly and carefully he set Larkin back on her feet and leaned a little to look inside the hut before tapping on the door frame. An older woman peered over towards the two figures. ”Who lingers?” Her large blue eyes were behind large framed glasses as she adjusted them on her nose to better look, standing to her feet and hobbling over. Immediately a squeal of delight escaped her as she exclaimed his name with a quick ushering of the two inside. ”I haven’t seen you in so long, Felix! Since… Since before Renata was born all those years back!” A look of embarrassment came over his face which she took as a cue to turn her attention elsewhere. ”And who is this young thing!” she immediately went to investigate Larkin, looking her over and nodding with great approval.
”She’s my---…. Larkin.” He said. The old woman looked at him for a moment with a grin. ”She’s your Larkin?” Eyes glinted with amusement before looked back towards the girl. ”Well hello Felix’s Larkin. A pleasure to meet you! I am Delphie! What brings you two here!?”

Larkin was never grumpy or ill tempered. Especially with her Felix. But as they made their way back to where his clothes lay she felt the sudden urge to cry for no reason whatsoever. "I wouldn't want you to be a horse." She sniffled. Just barely holding back her unwarranted tears. She frowned at his reasons to go see a healer but didn't argue and when he offered to piggyback her she didn't put up a fight. She was actually relieved to curl against the heat of his back, her cheek against the back of his head and her arms wrapped loosely around his neck and chest. It gave her a chance to rest for a few minutes, something she very much appreciated when she felt so exhausted.
When they reached the small cabin and Felix sat her down on her feet Larkin wrapped her arms around herself and peered around curiously. Listening to their exchange through the open door Larkin followed Felix when they were ushered inside. One of her hands nervously finding the back of his shirt although she smiled at the friendly woman. After the somewhat awkward introduction made by Felix that left her with more questions. She looked up at him curiously. Not frowning really but curious at that moment as to what 'they' were. Were they anything? She loved him yes. But that didn't mean they were together or anything. How had she never wondered about this before? And why did the thought of him with someone else kick her in the gut so hard?
The older woman was speaking to her then and Larkin turned to her. She just had to smile at her. "It's a pleasure Delphie." She repeated the woman's kind words. At the question, Larkin looked back at Felix. She hadn't wanted to come and bother anyone, she felt so foolish being here for her ankle that was surely nothing more than a sprain. "I um..I tripped and Felix mentioned that he had a friend who was a wonderful healer. Then he brought me here." She felt more tired now than before if possible. It was perhaps the vomiting that had made her weak, or just the long trip to the hunting grounds. But Larkin swayed on her feet and had to grab a handful of Felix's shirt to stop herself from falling. Wincing when she put weight on her hurt ankle.
She pushed and ivory lock out of her face and leaned her forehead against Felix's shoulder. "I don't feel well." She mumbled softly. It also wasn't like her to complain but she felt that was all she had done that day.

Delphie was so excited to see him and this new girl he seemed to be toting around. Even now as they were inside, his hand found Larkin and held it. Protective stance even against her but being the old woman she was and having dealt with the stubborn fiery lad, she took no offense to it. Instead, she beamed even warmer as she checked out Larkin. She was a very pretty young thing, petite stature, and long beautiful white-blond hair. Not the type of girl she would imagine Felix to attach himself to. When he was pictured with someone she always felt he would go for those exotic girlies with dark skin, striking features, and light eyes. As Larkin spoke the old woman was proud to hear it. ”Well done Felix, this one has manners.”[/b] she commended. But now it was time to get to business. Watching the smile that seemed to be forced on her face until it weakened even more into the state she was actually feeling. ”Better safe than sorry.” he grumped but primarily he wanted Larkin to be looked at because of this sickness she seemed to be overwhelmed with. As well as this exhaustion that made him sluggish.
He looked down at her as she spoke again stating that she didn’t feel very well as she leaned into his shoulder. His fingers squeezed her hand a little and Delphie immediately was beginning to assess her. ”This was dear.” she chimed as she leads them towards a bit more of an open room and a seat surrounded by various shelves full with concoctions. She gestured to the seat for Larkin and Felix reluctantly let her hand go finding the nearest wall to loom in and lean against.
Once the young woman sat down she started saying a few things under her breath to activate her power as well as getting a book and grabbing a few of the potions from the shelf. She then went and grabbed from a drawer a wrap for Larkins ankle to keep it strengthened and not fall weak to make her fall again. Settling down in a chair next to the young woman she lifted hear hands starting at the hurt ankle and started to assess and check the ligaments and bones then she started to move up towards her abdomen, chest, and head. A look sort of crossed her features as she continued to go back and forth over Larkin’s abdomen. Biting her lip a bit her eyes shot towards Felix for a moment who nervously rose from his leaning. ”Well… good news is it is just a sprained ankle. We can wrap it to strengthen it for a couple of days and then you should be fine to put more weight on it.”
”but…” Felix said.
Delphie didn’t look at him and instead looked to Larkin with a calm but happy gaze. ”Dear, you said you weren’t feeling very good. Yes? Have you felt nauseated despite an increased appetite? Tired even though you slept well? Or perhaps switching moods feeling overwhelmingly upset, sad, or happy?” she tipped her head watching her as she rests her arm on the arm of the chair and quietly grabbed her hand. ”I believe it’s because you are expecting,” she said softly. ”You are going to be having a baby.”
Felix felt his heart drop to his toes and stare with blinking eyes. The color to his face paling as a loud ringing entered his ears. He could feel the shuffling again. The wolf almost breathing back to life with the brilliant news of another possible tender-fleshed meal. ”Babies are so….. delicious…”

Larkin fell silent as the kind woman looked over her. Trying not to blush even as the woman lingered over her stomach. She smiled and nodded at the news of her ankle but then Delphie took her hand and Larkin looked at her worriedly. The answer that came forth then was not what she expected. In the least. Her fingers gripped a little tighter around the womans and a confused/shocked look came to her face. "A...baby." She repeated in disbelief. One of her hands instinctively moved to slide over the creamy smooth skin of her stomach. Still flat and revealing nothing of the babe within.
"I-Umm...thank you." She said softly to the woman and released the tight grip on her hand. She slowly sat up and looked over at Felix who was staring down at his feet, his face ashen. She knew in that moment that he didn't want this. That she had messed up somehow. "I'm sorry Felix I...didn't mean to." In hindsight she should have known that there was a chance of this happening. But with everything else that had been happening she hadn't had a second to really stop and think.
And now she was pregnant...
Larkin had no clue how to care for a child. She hadn't even been around many children. She bit her lip and looked down her her lap where she tugged at her skirt. "Is it...ok then? The...baby?" She looked at Delphie this time. Her blue eyes creased with deep worry. What if she had hurt the baby somehow? Ate something she shouldn't have. There was so much she didn't know. She looked back to Felix and felt a twisting in her gut. Guilt. She felt guilty that he was so unhappy.
"Felix-" She started then but down on her lip. Not knowing what else to say.

”it’s doing beautifully!” she said smiling though as they continued speaking their voices drift to the back of his mind like background noises.
P-Pregnant?
It wasn’t like he hadn’t experienced this before. He dealt with Eriu when she had gone through her pregnancy and stuck it out no matter how moody or dreadful she could be during it but it wasn’t hard then. It was when Renata was born. That was when that ravenous hunger had started. He could feel the wolf rubbing beneath his skin and making sounds of delight. This was something he wasn’t going to be able to stop. This was something he now wanted to work towards. His eyes lift though when she spoke his name but he missed all of what she said. ’I uh--... Mm..” he wasn’t sure what to say and he could tell he wasn’t helping the matter. Even Delphie gave him a scolding look. He couldn’t even really react to her scolding gaze as he felt internally shut down, numb. If he let emotion show what if it was the wrong one? What if he gets out and lets intentions be known. The babe nor Larkin was safe.
She was going to go. She was going to leave just like Eriu did and he would be left with the mess they both created. A large mess he would have to face alone… again. What the hell did he just do? Why did he have to ruin it?
”I-... “ his brows furrowed as he couldn’t really focus on either of the women. ”Excuse me.” and with that, he shuffled from his spot and head out the door. He needed to breathe. He needed to calm down the incessant scratching and pulling he was feeling. The wolf wanted out to listen to draw his nose right up Larkin’s skirt. Slipping out of the hut he ran so neither of them could stop him.

He left her. She just sat there on the table for several minutes staring at the open door he had practically ran through. She didn't know what to do. Felix had been there for her since he stole her. Even when he shouldn't have been he was kind and offering her gentle words. But this...this was what he left her with. She chewed on her lip until she tasted copper and quickly tried to brush away the tide of tears that rose in her eyes before Delphie could see them. "T-thank you for helping me Delphie." She stared at the doorway and felt a painful twist in her gut. If Delphie would allow it she would stay the night at her home and then leave first thing in the morning. But not to Eriu's but a different direction entirely...
