'I think there's a flaw in my code These voices won't leave me alone
It had been three days. Three lond days since she had last seen Felix. Last felt the safe embrace of his arms. Was he even alive? That thought consumed her. They were so angry with him she worried that she worried they might do away with him completely. However luckily for Larkin after being in Felix's possession for so long the 'boss' doubted she to still be pure. With a dismissive wave he told them to give her the tea for a few days and then stick her with someone to teach her the ropes. Even if not innocent she still looked it with her large blue eyes and generally helpless appearance. She was given a black dress, if one could call it that. It revealed more than it hid. One of the men took her to one of their long timers. Someone who for the most part didn't cause trouble and drew in lots of clientel. Their own little leopard, Killian. Larkin's long ivory hair had been pinned up in a way she would never wear if she had the choice. And she was obviously uncomfortable in the tight revealing garb. Her blue eyes were down cast and while she wanted to ask them for the millionth time where Felix was she knew that she wouldn't get an answer this time either. She needed to know, she needed to help him if he was hurt. But how? "Alright Killian we have another one for you. You know how it goes. Train her in what we do and how we do it." He seemed almost bored with the whole endeavor. Larkin on the other hand, was staring at Killian with wide eyes. Maybe...maybe he knew where Felix was? The man who held her slender arm leaned forward then to speak in a conspirators whisper to the feline. "Its that little bunny that old Felix hid away. So she probably already knows plenty." A rough elbow was given to the feline's side. As if they were friends. As if there wasn't a distinct difference in who was the boss and who was the subordinate. Then with only a backward glance at Larkin he walked away. Larkin watched him go then turned back to the man who had been referred to as 'Killian'. She bit her lip and rubbed at a tiny bruise on her wrist from being handled too roughly. "I...I'm Larkin." She fidgeted with one of the straps of her dress then looked out at the midday crowd that ambled past their building. "You haven't-you don't know where Felix is...do you?"Killian Cruz

[attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]He had sent the young man off on his way and was about to head inside when he was approached by one of the guardians. "you are getting a trainee." he was told. He arched a brow as his head slightly tilted in a curious manner. The way the guardian acted it seemed like this person.... this trainee was someone of value. "She'll be here in a few seconds. Finish up." and with that, the boring guardian walked off and Killian did as he was told. He slipped off towards his room and stuffed his money into a jar in the dressed a crossed the room. He supposed he had a few-- nope. A voice was heard first on the other side of the curtain before being pulled back. The guardian stood with a short, slender, and white haired ... elf? Looking woman who stared with wide eyes. He listened as the man basically told him the same thing the one before did before leaving her in his care. Except for one tiny fact. Felix. This is the one Felix had. Now surely he couldn't be mistaken as he only knew one Felix in this business. Hazel eyes moved back towards her.[break]
Now wasn't she was special looking one. It wasn't so much that he thought her appearance was weird it was more at the fact of how frightened she looked. She fidgeted and looked extremely uncomfortable like most new ones were. He knew well that would eventually wear off. She spoke her name and he almost beamed. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Larkin." he gallantly bowed dipping a little as he slipped her hand into his own and tugged her towards the mound of soft fluffy pillows. "Let's get more into the room.. shall we?" He had to be over the top at least for the time being until he was sure the new 'feeling' from the surrounding girls and guardians had worn off. "As you hear, I'm Killian and I will be your teacher." he winked at her as he grabbed her by the shoulders and backed her towards the pillows to sit her down.[break]
A near purr was escaping him. Her skin was soft much like virgin skin that hadn't been at all touched with the sinful ways of life that she was now entering. Carefully slipping up onto the pillows he listened to her question that now came. "Wolf Felix?" he asked curiously. The very man his companion was mated to, the very man that had hidden this young woman apparently? Sounds like Felix had gotten himself into quite the mess. "He is probably locked in the underground." he said. "It's where guardians go when they screw up." if the boss hadn't decided to off him for such insolent behavior but this was his first offense of which he had heard of, even if a big one, perhaps they wouldn't go that far. besides... who else would the boss have as a whipping boy? "What was Felix doing with you?" No point in being polite about it besides Killian had other motives and that was the protection of his companion, Felix's mate, Lucia.

'I think there's a flaw in my code These voices won't leave me alone
The man she was left with beamed at her and Larkin tentatively smiled back. He seemed nice and she wondered how he ended up here. Was he like her then? She thought it was only girls but now that she actually thought about it it would make sense for men to be in their ranks as well. He took her hand and Larkin obediantly followed. Peering up at him worriedly as he gently pushed her back to sit her in a mass of pillows. "Killian." She repeated, liking the way his name rolled on her tongue. "I-thank you.." What else was she to say when someone said they would teach her. Even if it was something she didn't wish to be taught. But maybe if everyone here was nice like Killian it wouldn't be so bad. If she only knew Felix was alright....
Killian settling down on the pillows beside her caused Larkin to turn to him, her lips turning down into a frown at his words. "Oh..." But maybe that meant he wasn't dead, it could be a good thing then. Maybe he would be released soon. She had tried to tell them it was her fault but no one would believe her. She was ignored, talked over, Killian was the first person to actually listen to a thing she said since her arrival here. Larkin fidgeted with one of the cups of her dress that just barely covered her tiny breasts. Trying to tug it up to cover more but to no avail. Killian ask then what Felix had been doing with her and seeing as how Felix had already been caught and Killian was nice to her she chose to answer.
"He was trying to keep me safe....so I didn't have to go to the boss." Her blue eyes moved away from Killian at the mention of Felix. A certain heaviness settling into her chest. "Is this where you live?" She reached down to let her fingers roam over one of the silky pillows. Following the stitching that appeared to be a dragon of some sort. She didn't look at him when she spoke this time, remembering how uncomfortable her questioning had made Felix. "Are they going to hurt me, Killian?" She didn't say it in accusing way. If anything she sounded a little defeated.

[attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]He knew in honor of Lucia he should be very catty with this little woman but the way she acted shook the feline to the core. He wasn't a crude person and nor could he honestly act like he was one. She worried her lip and looked very lost and that to him was a bit of a ice breaker. He still though wondered what on earth Felix was doing with this poor girl. She claimed protection but he wondered if this was actually more of a seedier reason. However, if he did plan to hurt the girl why was she so worried about him? He wished he could ease her worries but to be honest, he hadn't the slightest idea of where he was or what had happened to him. He only knew of the place by mere gossip amongst the guards. He leaned on his arm as he watched her every movement attempting to see some kind of flaw in this whole scenario but so far he wasn't finding a thing. Her next question made him pause for a moment. "Only if you don't do what you are told." he said simply. "Then they will. But as long as you follow orders and bring in money you will be fine."[break]
SHe didn't seem like the kind of girls he had seen be brought in. She looked innocent and out of place. Maybe that was the appeal as to why they threw her in. Men liked to rough up those innocent girls. They could really cook up some weird fantasies in his opinion. "Where you from?" She looked efly to him by her bright eyes and her fair skin even by the shape of her face but she smelt animal. They said she was a rabbit, wasn't she? Or was it some other furry creature?

'I think there's a flaw in my code These voices won't leave me alone
Larkin looked down at her lap when Killian answered her, a pink hue coming to her cheeks before she spoke. "Bring in money...you mean-" She didn't finish speaking but the red in her cheeks deepened. Felix had told her the boss was cruel and harsh...maybe it wouldn't be as bad here since the boss wouldn't be the one around her. But...the thought of being with someone for coin made her feel ill. The thought of someone touching her that she didn't want to made her feel cold. And then the memory of Felix came to mind. He had been so gentle and ask so many times if he was hurting her. She didn't imagine she would get that same treatment from strangers. She didn't want their hands on her skin to erase the feel of his.
"Aelfmenn." She answered softly, although she had come to see the little cabin in the forest as much or even more of a home than the extravagant mansion she lived in. "What about you, Killian? Have you always lived in Cendra?" She was relaxed with him. His kind mannerisms and friendly speech set her at ease even with all the stress. She found herself scooting a little closer to him and away from all the harsh truths she was being faced with.
"I'm afraid..." She admitted softly and bit down on her lip. "I have only...one time." She rubbed her arms to try to make the little bumps popping up on her skin go away. "And I need to help Felix, he did so much for me. It's not right for him to face this alone."

[attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]His hazel eyes were already softening when she seemed to come to the realization of what he was talking about. A sad nod was given. "You are only as good as the money you bring in." He said admittedly. Most of the girls weren't much but then again they didn't have the innocent touch that little Larkin had. Those big eyes of wide curiosity and innocence would be a big deal breaking. She was scooting closer to him which he found a little odd but at the same time, he could see it was insecurity. She was seeking some kind of protection from the weight of the reality. As she spoke again his brows furrowed a bit. "That's where Elves live." he said. "But they said you were a rabbit." The bosses prized rabbit. He rubbed his chin looking at her. "You are a hybrid." Now he didn't think the boss was really one of those people who dug hybrids. Why he treated Felix rather poorly even before now then again if he were ever to get caught he supposed harming a hybrid would be his way of covering his ass.[break]
At her question, he was shaking his head no. "I don't really know where I am from.. originally.. I was an orphan passed from one business to a next most of my life. I worked as a circus type entertainer for a while until people caught on I wasn't a real panther." Then business plummeted. It was how he ended up here. "I don't really know of another life, to be honest." He had worked for someone for as long as he could remember. Perhaps not in the provocative way he does now but he was always used for money one way or another. When he got older he apparently was viewed as attractive and easy to handle. It was the only thing the boss even considered him for.[break]
She spoke about being afraid and he frowned softly. Most of the time those words didn't bother him when it came from one of the girls but the way Larkin spoke it, it had a way of getting him to feel terrible for her. She admitted to only have one time and it made him curious again. "With Felix?" he asked. He could feel the panther in him bristling out of respect for Lucia but the human shushed the feline. This poor girl didn't know any better and he doubted that wolf told her anything about Lucia. She spoke once more but he sadly shook his head no. "There is no way of getting to him." he didn't want to tell her she was better off thinking of him as dead but that was the truth. He probably was best considered gone. "I'm sorry."

He called her a hybrid after working things out in his own mind and Larkin looked down at her lap under the weight of the realization. Being a hybrid made her life difficult. Some would hate her and treat her differently just because of what she was. A cruel reality that she hoped she wouldn't face with the kind Killian. But as he began to tell her about himself she perked up and listened, catching a word that made her smile. "You are a pather?" She ask, almost excitedly. She had met one other panther by the name of Carjen, in the woods. Meeting so many werebeasts was exciting. All her life she had only known elves and the stray wanderer. "Thats wonderful, they-you are beautiful." But his lack of a life outside of breaking his body for the entertainment of others saddened her. "I"m sorry, you deserve better. Maybe I can help you get out of here one day? After I do. You seem very nice..." So much different than the men that had brought her in. Roughly. Their teasing words making her stomach turn and occasional wandering had made her stiffen. Yes, he was very different. In a good way.
When he asked if the one person she had been with was Felix, Larkin blushed and rubbed at one of her tiny bruises. Not comfortable just admitting such a thing...and what if that made it worse? They all assumed Felix had 'ruined' her but verifying it might make things more difficult for him. Something she did not want. "Oh.." She replied after he told her there was no way to get to him. She would have to think and keep watching the mean men...Maybe they would say or do something of use. She was still looking down and away from the feline when she spoke again, her fingers nervously working at tassels from one of the pillows. "Do you have a last name, Killian?" She wasn't sure why it mattered....but it did. "I think brother and I are the last of the Silvaris line. He is a full elf though, unlike me. I'm not really fitting to carry it on." Her words were spoken without malice although there was a small frown on her lips. "Someone must miss you somewhere." Even being an orphan he had to have extended family, right? Friends he had left behind?
"We will both get out of here one day." She said with a nod and a smile. "I'm sure of it."

”the one and only.” he said with a soft smile, eyelids hovering over hazel irises. As she continued to compliment he naturally took it in stride. ”We try. Are you friends with one other?” he asked curiously. He fiddled with a string off one of the pillows as he laid out on his side. He twisted it in between his fingers as he listened on to what she had to say. He frowned softly. ”Nothing for you to apologize for, silly girl.” he said attempting to be dismissive of the matter and not let it show it bothered him. Even if it did he was never one to let his emotions rule him. In this type of work, it was better that way. Besides he could have all the family he wanted by several different people – Lucia of course briefly coming to mind. ”You learn to turn the charm on in all situations, bunny.” he said with a quiet laugh. ”Soon everyone will think you are a sweet and charming and it’s all meant for them.” he rolled onto his back now staring up at the ceiling.
He had a feeling that her one and only had been Felix. They did after all say so and she simply confirmed it with a sort of bashful avoidance.
He thought that was a bit of a silly question but he supposed he would humor her. She seemed like one of those girls that were simply so innocent she came off as dense. ”Of course I do, don’t you?” he asked curiously though he grinned quietly though the grin faded as she continued on to explain that because she is a hybrid she wasn’t fitting for carrying on the name. ”Nonsense.” he said. ”When you get married your last name changes anyways.” he said. ”Only males have to worry about carrying on the last name of a family.” Though he was pretty sure his own last name wasn’t one of his birth parents. ”I’m Killian Cruz but I’m not sure where it actually comes from or if perhaps it was just given to me.” was it his legal last name? Did it really matter? ”I just prefer Killian though.” It was easier and didn’t hold so much weight as the last name did. She said that someone out there must miss him and he shook his head. ”If they do, I don’t know them. I have never met my family. All I know is I once had a mother and I once had a father and they were both weres. I don’t know their names or what they were or even where they came from…. I know nothing. What feline family I do have is a snow leopard by the name of Lucia.” and she was the only one who mattered.

Larkins lips twitched into a frown. "You are one of them but not the only." But then he followed up with a question and she nodded. "Yes, but his name was Carjen. He was very nice too." She had, of course, included Killian in that assessment. Too. He was the first person to even talk to her since her arrival and not just treat her like a 'thing'. He said one learned to be sweet and charming, nearly poking fun at her before he rolled onto his back to stare up at the ceiling. "I couldn't even tell you were acting.." She said softly, her voice barely more than a whisper in the darkness. She thought he had truly been nice...he must indeed be a good actor.
He told her that it was only males that should worry about keeping a family name alive and went to tell her his own, then said he had no family but a snow leopard named Lucia. Larkin nodded and slowly settled back against the pillows so that she too was staring up at the ceiling. She didn't inch closer now although she did have to desire too. I his niceness toward her was only an act she didn't want to push him. "I like Killian." She said after several minutes of silence. "...I don't think it really needs any more than just that." She fell quiet again, only the blinking of her blue eyes to show that she was awake.
"I know...I know you are only being nice to me because it is what you do. But....can I hold your hand? Just until I fall asleep." She didn't look at him as she spoke but stared up at the ceiling and waited for his answer. One of her pale hands lying palm up between them as she waited for his answer. Contact, she wanted some sort of contact. Even if it wasn't who or what she wanted. It would be something.

She took what he said wrong but that was okay. She needed to know that not everyone was as nice as they appeared and it was also something she would have to learn with her stay here. If she wanted to survive she needed to learn how to put herself first and selfishly live for her own well-being. That meant to do what you were told when you were told just in order to survive. As she spoke about another panther his brows rose. He hadn’t met but only one other panther and even then it was weird. The familiar name caused a small smile to form on his lips. ”I met a Carjen.” he said nodding his head. ”How about that. Small world.” He closed his eyes and felt as she lowered herself now onto the pillows. ”you like me? Why? I could be a cruel person. You don’t know me.” he was just curious how someone could make such a rash decision within the few seconds of meeting someone. He had to take a while and though he knew this young lady nothing more than she appeared he had still yet to decide if he truly liked her. She was sweet and gentle and that definitely touched his heart but he wasn’t entirely sure if he was willing to put his neck out for her just yet…. Maybe.
Her palm was laid out between the two of them as she spoke saying that she knew he was just being nice to her but could she hold his hand. He could see she needed some form of contact. That was who he was. He could understand the need and quietly he laid his hand on hers before tugging her towards him. He wrapped his arms around the poor woman and laid there quietly with her. ”I wasn’t trying to be mean… Larkin…. But this place is full of people like that. WHo will take advantage of someone so gentle as you are.” Her warmth was nice and he found himself starting to get a little sleepy with the pressure of it. ”I will do myself to help you. I'm sorry you have to be here and I am sorry that you are hurting for your friend but if you do get back in touch with him….. Just be careful around him. Okay?”

"You could be.." She agreed softly. "But you arent." He was taking her hand then and pulling her toward him. She should have been afraid when a strange man wrapped his arms around her, but... she wasn't. He didn't feel threatening in the least and she snuggled against him. Her back against his chest dragging in all the warmth and security he would give. "Its alright Killian, I understand. You don't have to be nice to me." One of her arms laid over his and the other curled under her head. Her long ivory locks serving as a pillow against her cheek. She yawned and her body relaxed, Killian's words making a small smile come to her lips.
"Felix would never hurt me." She said sleepily and in a matter of minutes drifted to sleep snuggled in a strangers arms.
