Questions and Answers | Rhiannon was on Barney as she traveled. Her father and mother were traveling on their own to go to some ...place she didn't really pay attention to because they wanted to do something she was sure that had to do with growing and helping her father's need for war. So taking advantage of that, she decided to go out on a visit of her own. She let people know where she was going and took one guard with her....only one that she trusted and one that would not tell her parents what she was doing and where she was going. It was a journey but like most places that were with getting to....there was a journey involved.
She had never been here before, her father having banned her from leaving the castle and the 'approved' grounds periods but that hadn't stopped her from exploring and this one...was important. She rode along with her guard to head towards the Graveyard where she was hoping to find the answers or clues that would led her to finding more information about the original treaty and the King that had negotiated it. Rhi wanted to do everything she possibly can to have tools and things that would allow her and her brother prevent her father's maddening drive to war. So while parents were off doing what they needed so that it would benefit him, she was doing the same for her and her brother.
Slowing Barney till they approached the graveyard she turned and looked a the guard. "Wait here with Barney. I'm going to head in and see what I can find and should be back in about an hour or so." Sliding off Barney's back she brushed her hand down his neck and kissed him before heading into the graveyard. In truth, she wasn't sure what she was going to find but she was willing and ready to look and ask. This was too important to be taken light heartedly. Plus somewhere in the back of her mind she understood and knew that this was going to be possibly a good alliance to have that would be very important down the road. She wasn't ignorant of that either.
Walking over to a gravestone, she looked down at it and read the information on it before repeating it over and over again. She was looking at the ones that seemed 'important' because those would probably be the ones that would give her the source she was searching out.

Marduk was perhaps making his way back from a conquering venture. That, or perhaps he was planning to go on a new one. It was hard to tell. But the King of the Undead strolled through the Graveyard, which lay near the Gates but yet still a distance away from where the Grave Keeper might be. Only surrounded by a few men, he continued to walk along the graves, the tall stones lined up in an orderly fashion. It just so happened that he was passing the more important graves, those buried by the higher ups. If it were up to him he wouldn't even bother with a grave at all. Dead or undead, they would have no use for them anyway. He looked in disgust as he passed some tombs carved from the finest marble, now having cracks in their sides and made homes for spiders. Such a waste. In the end they're all the same anyway. Even if they became dead or undead, a king was no different from a peasant in his mind. He was a king that carved his way through blood and strength, one born by royal line had barely any significance, other than the tiny teaching of their ancestors. But they were usually weak, feeble beings. He continued along, stopping to admire perhaps one of the largest tombs of all. The enormous magnificence, the grave of King Irmied.
It took probably the most space, out of all the graves and was further in the Graveyard and away from the Gates. The other finer graves were surrounding it, probably his commanders or other human kings or whatnot. Marduk gave an impressed smile as he gazed at the large tomb of the king. Indeed, King Irmied was the very human that brought an end to the wars many years ago, of course he would get the biggest grave of them all. He snickered. Of course, the very man that made this wasteland for the undead. Marduk despised the fact. One of his soldiers took a piece of dirt and tossing it at the large statue's head, splattering onto his forehead then slide downward, looking like two brown tears coming down over his eyes and onto the cheeks. Marduk laughed, followed by the laughter of his men. He shook his head, indeed he and his soldiers knew how to have a good time. But they then kept walking. He then spotted a living, a young woman who walked among the gravestones. From behind her, a hand reached out from the ground, an undead emerging from one of the graves. It slowly crept toward her, reaching out with its arms as it made its way toward her. Coming from behind it Marduk walked hurriedly, standing before the Mindless' side before it could react, a sword pierced through its skin. The undead ceased and gasped, whimpering slightly as the blade drove through its body. Marduk then pulled it out, standing over the now dead Mindless as he looked over it, now near the girl.
"Well that was quick," he said, refreshed. It was always good to kill some Mindless. It seemed like he had just saved the girl, but rather he was just doing his duty as king to get rid of as many Mindless as possible.

Questions and Answers | She had been looking around and examining each one for the one in particular that she was looking for. Some of them were so old and it made her wonder just what they had been like back when they had been alive. The people they loved, the life they lived.Heading a bit further inward because she had a feeling that the King's grave would be much further towards the middle. So looking around the area she started scouting the area for one that was clearly the sign of the previous king. Glancing around she saw other tombs that belonged to other royalty but not the one she wanted.
Rhiannon heard laughter but she didn't turn to look, thinking that maybe...just maybe it belonged to people that were trying to have a moment. That of course was probably a mistake because then she would have noticed the men, noticed the grave...noticed the hand that was crawling towards her. Then she heard the sound, the whimper and she spun around to look at behind her and was taken aback by the man the was there, standing there with his sword through the mindless that had crawled out of the grave towards her. Glancing up she took in the man...or the being that had been a man and was standing in front of her. Rhiannon had done her homework and knew who this was. After all....this was the gateway to his land.
Standing there for a moment, she didn't want to say the wrong thing to him. Tilting her head slightly before speaking, "I'm sorry I wasn't paying better attention." Thanking him just seemed.......not the smartest thing to say at the moment. Glancing to the side she noticed the grave that she had been looking for. Turning to look at him for just a moment before stepping around him and seeing the large grave and the dirt that had been tossed a the statute. Walking over to it she looked around and sighed...what the hell had she been expecting. "It's almost like he was trying to compensate..." she softly said to herself and leaned against the marble.
What had she been expecting, a giant glowing sign that said everything you need to help your brother and stop your father from sending everyone into the middle of a way is right here. She sighed and lowered her head. "There has to be something here....anything to help." Turning to look at the King she leaned back against the grave. "Would it be rude of me to ask if you knew anything about where the original treaty that stopped the war is and the papers on the negotiations are?

He looked at her curiously as she leaned against the marble. Compensate for what? The King then sheathed his sword, walking toward her while his men followed behind him. What was this living looking for? She stood at the edge of King Irmied's grave, apparently seeming to want something with it. Marduk couldn't tell, nor could he tell what she would want with such a useless piece of a grave. He ignored her other few words, not really knowing what they meant until she turned to him, asking him for held. Where the original treaty was? Marduk gave a hearty laugh. "The Force of the Ashes Treaty? What, you think I have it right here in my pocket?" he then reached into the very pocket as an example, showing her that there was nothing but dirt falling from his chipped hands. He then took a few steps closer. "We were forced here because of the treaty. Behind these Gates, behind these walls to keep us away from our homes," he said, a hand gesturing toward the walls of the Gates in the near distance. He then stopped walking. "There is no such treaty here. If anything I would believe it would be in the land of the living." Then his head tilted for a moment in thought. "Though what would one like you, be doing here, searching for the treaty?" he then asked, now actually thinking about it. They most likely could be found in the Emberi Kingdom no doubt, hidden in a vault somewhere. Though, now this intrigued him, maybe she wished to rewrite some things on it? If so he would certainly love to do so as well. He'd cross out the part, the whole section, stating with what to do with the undead.
His eyes then gazed up at the statue, then back at her. Why was she here? Thinking that some grave would have all the answers to her problems? A most unusual case indeed, or maybe she was but a mere grave robber. The treaty would make a fine prize indeed if that was the case. The original papers would be worth a fortune. Though he continued to listen on, eager to sate his curiosity with her presence.
