Obelisk is an ancient dragon who, for a long time, was trapped in a magical cage. Then some hapless adventurer found him and let him out about 80-90 years ago. Since Obelisk feels deeply indebted to this character, it'd be nice to have them on the site!
Some ideas-
Someone who found him by accident and let him out for whatever motivation (they're a nice person, wanted him to be in their debt, etc)
Someone heard stories/rumors about him and sought him out for whatever reason.
A human let him out (see reasons above) and he is indebted to the family rather than a specific person.
Really it's very free form. I would prefer it not be a dwarf since Obe doesn't like them at all. This person would know that Obe is a dragon and would be familiar with both his forms.
