Appearance:
Small and somewhat delicate looking, Farid is not a strong young man. Growth stunted by malnutrition and mistreatment, he looks younger than his twenty five years. His skin is a soft dusky olive, spattered with freckles. His hair is wild and unruly, dark brown. His eyes are a light greenish yellow, striking against his dusky complexion and framed by dark lashes. There's always a hint of wildness lurking in the depths of those eyes, animalistic and fearful. His body heals surprisingly well but a life of violence does not leave one unmarked. Thick ropes of grey scar tissue criss-cross his body. He is missing the little finger on his left hand and has notches taken out of both his ears.

In beast form, Farid is a fairly average looking striped hyena. His eyes are a queer grey-yellow. His fur is a buff ivory color, marked with charcoal stripes.

Personality:
Farid's life is ruled by fear. He has always been powerless and thus understands nothing else. Everyone is a threat and there is nothing he can do. Kindness is looked on with a queer mixture of gratitude and suspicion for he has so rarely been offered ti that it always seems like a trick. Affection is foreign to him but brutality is not. He seems surprisingly callous when it comes to violence, desnsitized to it and all it's brutality. He struggles to say no to people, especially anyone larger or obviously more powerful than he (either physically or socially). When presented with choice it tends to freeze him up, suspecting a trick and not trusting his own judgement. He's never had the opportunity to do so.

History:
Farid was bron in captivity, taken from his mad mother before she could kill him in one of her fits of rage. Bred for sport, like the animal his captors treated him as. Ever since the end of the war, there has been some small traffic in werebeasts for blood sport. Primarily taking place in forgotten places where the law is unlikely to look. Whether due to his small size or simply because they had need for it, Farid was never trained as a fighter. Instead he was often muzzled and chained and used as a living target to help prepare other werebeasts for fights.

This is how Farid thought he would live and how he thought he would die. Until, one day, he saw the opportunity to escape. And he took it.
