Magical Ability:
Frey specialises in Empathy, particularly Ecological Empathy. This means that he is able to sense the well-being and conditions of the environment, animals, and people around him. He is also able to manipulate this link to change people’s emotions and the environment around him to a lesser extent. He is in sync with the environment, which allows him to perceive and understand what happens in his immediate vicinity. This has it’s downfalls as he often feels drained and weak when in poor environments and sickly people. He has a capability in healing due to his intense studies of the magical arts and it takes a great deal of energy and concentration to use it.
His werebeast form is a Sambar deer and can use telepathy while in animal form. It takes a great deal amount of maintained concentration to remove the antlers from his head and he is barely ever able to do it.

Appearance:
Frey has blonde hair slicked back and short as to not get in the way of the antlers that sit on his head. The antlers are cream coloured and sit tall on his head, screaming to everyone that he is either a faulty werebeast or a hybrid. He is quite tall and towers over many people, with his antlers adding height to his already large stature. His eyes are a green colour, despite what form he is in. His jaw is chiselled, and he usually has a shortly trimmed beard that is the same colour that his hair is. His mage mark is a vine that starts at his elbow and wraps around his arm up to his shoulder where it stops.
[break]
He doesn't have a particular style and tends to wear loose-fitting clothing in the summer and furs in the winter. He does prefer to have darker colours such as browns and dark greens so that he doesn't stand out too much in the forests he visits. He has small charms and carved wood sigils that hang off his antlers, no matter what for he is in. He usually has a large leather bag sits on his hips as a human and then around his neck when he is in deer form. It is to carry his clothes from place to place without too much trouble.
[break]
His werebeast form is a dark brown colour and he has a small mane like most of his species do. As an older Sambar stag, he is quite large, standing at 161 cm (15.8) tall. His antlers are large, and his black tail is fairly long. His mage mark manifests in the same place, however, it is not so easily seen against his brown fur. In this form, it is much harder to tell that he is a hybrid.

Personality:
Frey has a calm disposition and a sweet temper. He is respectful and polite to all, even those he dislikes and comes off as very aloof. However, once he is angered he is downright cruel and heartless. This ties in with the fact that he doesn’t have a great sense of morals and sees things in shades of grey. He has an air of wisdom and intelligence, but he is quite irresponsible and flighty. He doesn’t like to stay in the same place for more than a few months, and it almost constantly on the move. This causes him to be quite unpredictable and hard to find although that is not his intention. His outlook on life is quite pessimistic and he attributes this to his knowledge of the world and the people in it. He is quite open-minded however he rarely shares the many secrets that he holds
[break]
He is not soft-hearted, however, he may appear to be. He can be quite merciless and selfish, doing things for personal gain or for the good of the environment. He can be quite reserved but doesn't shy away from conversation. He has a sense of humour but usually keeps his jokes to himself. He appreciates the world around him but doesn't have the time nor the patience for people with prejudice. He finds it hard to reason with people who see in black and white but can stand their presence as long as they are respectful of him.

History:
Frey was born to a werebeast mother, Aisa, and a mage father, Geoff. He was barely a few hours old when his mother passed away from internal bleeding and his father was devastated. Geoff had never been a very nice man, however, meeting Aisa had softened his heart and he had fallen in life with her. He did not believe himself to be a stupid man and as such he did not blame Frey for his mother’s death, but Geoff did not hold Frey in high regard. He didn’t have the emotional attachment that he did to his deceased wife, but he raised Frey out of a sense of duty. [break][break]
Frey’s antlers were not large as a toddler, but it was obvious that there were two growing bumps. Geoff was often embarrassed by his son’s antlers and pressed his son to try and hide them with no success. He didn’t like that his son was such a weak creature when Frey’s mother was a great tiger. Frey was raised in mostly isolation with his mage father and a village that was two days horse rides away. When he was only seven years old they moved into the hidden city of Mirthal. A friend of Geoff’s was living in Mirthal and had invited them to come live there. Geoff fitted right in there as he practices some darker magic. [break][break]
Frey was uncertain about his new surroundings, but he was appreciative of the new free style lessons. His father was not a good or understanding teacher and had no experience with Frey’s empathy powers. Frey lived there for a long time with Geoff, working as an apprentice healer. He worked with herbs and more hands-on things instead of magic as he could often sense what people needed despite not having a natural affinity of healing magic. His father left the city of Mirthal when he was 20, having decided that he had done his parental duty enough. [break][break]
Despite not knowing where his father had left to, Frey enjoyed his life in Mirthal. He had a great deal of friends, despite the oddities of his features and his werebeast form. He knew that if he had have lived in Lledrith School he wouldn’t have received so much support in his life. After a year and a half, he got restless. Frey decided to go out searching for Geoff, despite his father’s aloofness he truly loved him. After a few months went by he had heard no word of his father, but he was reluctant to return home. He had enjoyed travelling around the world, enjoying the secrets of the land. He often couldn’t go into the towns without ridicule, which was a very unfamiliar to him. [break][break]
Without the restrictions of his father, he decided to spend some time in his animal form, a luxury he wasn’t used to. He enjoyed it like this and for a few weeks he lived alone in the Dryhtwood forest near to the Aelfmenn Kingdom. After a few weeks had passed, a young man found Frey. He was a noble elf named Ailfried and had planned to hunt Frey but had noticed the odd behaviour of the stag. Ailfried had approached him and Frey revealed he was a werebeast. Instead of being disgusted, Ailfried was fascinated, and brought him to his own cottage nearby. [break][break]
They spent many months together, falling in love and having a passionate affair. Too soon, Ailfried had to return to the city. He promised that he would be back the next summer and so the two departed. Frey went back to Mirthal where he stayed and continued his work as an apprentice healer until summer arrived. Frey travelled to the cottage and met with his lover again. They spent the summer together, and Ailfried began to decorate Frey’s antlers with charms and small decorations. Frey proposed that he could move in with Ailfried in the elven city however he was rejected. Ailfried seemed terrified of the idea that he would be seen with a hybrid like Frey which confused him greatly. He didn’t know when the fascination had turned into disgust and embarrassment, so he left despite Ailfried’s protests. [break][break]
Frey was quite upset and heartbroken, with Ailfried being his first love. He moved back to Mirthal again, but this time he volunteered as a mentor to take his mind off things. He never removed the decorations, instead replacing them as they began to wear and tear. He quite enjoyed spending time with the children who seemed to delight in his presence despite the antlers on his head. He stayed in the hidden city for many years, teaching the children all that he knew about control. He began to get uneasy as his friends around him began to age and have children while he stayed the same. [break][break]
He travelled to Cendra City where he looked for a new job. His skin was a lot thicker than it was when he was younger, but it still stung when he was rejected from all the places he had applied for. After a few days Frey he met a girl named Erui and they became fast friends. She invited him along on her adventures and he surprisingly agreed. He often just stayed out of the fighting but patched her up after fights. She did often used him as a mode for transportation, but he didn’t mind at all. When she looked like she was in deep trouble he would help her out by fighting in his werebeast form. He liked her bubbly attitude and liked the companionship. She became very dear too his heart but after the 6 years had passed it was time to move on. Frey’s friends from Mirthal had contacted him for help as their healer had passed away unexpectedly and no one was experienced enough to take on the role of head healer. [break][break]
Frey settled back in Mirthal, taking on his on the former healer’s apprentice to teach him all that he knew. It only took a year for the apprentice to be skilled enough, so Frey stepped back. His friends urged him to stay in Mirthal so he did, saddened by their aging faces. After his closest friend passed away from heart failure, he was reluctant to stay so he left. He didn’t want to watch his friends change so much while he stayed the same. He moved near the mountains between Nimetri and Duskmire Woods. [break][break]
Here he met a woman named Guadalupe and her brother named Hemming. They were only young adults, so he took them under his wings to teach them how to survive in the wild. He enjoyed living with them, and after 6 months they brought and older man to him. The man was injured and claimed his name was Gerwulf. Frey invited him to stay with them for a while until he recovered. Gerwulf ended up staying with them for an extended period of time. Unintentionally, he had managed to form a close tight knit pack. [break][break]
He spent ten years with them, and at the age of 55, he received a letter by hawk. It was from Ailfried, asking for a huge favour. Frey almost rejected it, but the favour was to teach Ailfried’s nephew- an elf/mage hybrid how to use his magic. He left his pack to go meet Ailfried in person to discuss this idea. When he got to their cottage, he wasn’t surprised to find that the elf had barely aged mentally or physically. The nephew’s name was Ralph and from the moment Frey met him, he felt uncomfortable. The forest itself seemed to shy away from the young boy and Frey could tell that he was not well mentally. [break][break]
Frey took on the boy, taking his time to travel back home as he tried to teach Ralph the fundamentals of mage magic. He was tempted to bypass Mithral and just drop Ralph off, however he recognised that this would be a bad thing for Ralph’s already declined mental health. He was wary of the boy due to his natural ability of life draining but he refused to treat him any different to the boy’s that lived in Mithral. He knew what prejudice felt like and to think of himself acting like that left a bitter taste in his mouth. [break][break]
They arrived back where the pack lived, and the three pack members all agreed that they didn’t like Ralph. The hybrid boy made no effort to get them to like him and so Frey began to use his empathy to subdue Ralph’s wild temper. Ralph never mentioned it to Frey, so he figured that the boy didn’t know. After a few months, everyone began to warm up to Ralph and he became a trusted member of the pack. However, this was everyone’s mistake. One morning, while Frey was out patrolling the border of their territory, Ralph threw a temper tantrum, furious and enraged. [break][break]
Frey felt the trembles of the forest in his very soul as nature grieved the unnatural death of two predators and one prey werebeasts. He rushed to the small house they had built, to find Ralph standing over their dead bodies. Frey felt the most anger he had ever felt in his life, grief and wrath coursing through his veins. He pushed all of his feeling into Ralph and the boy began to cry. Frey didn’t stop there, twisting his mind until all that Ralph was or was ever going to be was a shivering ball of mess. Frey left immediately, knowing that the boy would simply starve to death, not moving until he eventually succumbed to death. [break][break]
Frey travelled to the Grasslands to grieve by himself. He stayed there for a good year as he used his own grief and experiences to harden himself up. He returned to Mirthal for another friend’s timely death and mentored more students there, staying until the last of his original friends were gone and deceased. He received countless letters from Ailfried, all of which he ignored. He never spoke of what happened and no one ever knew except for himself. Once all his original friends were gone, he was 70 years old. He knew it was time to once again leave, let the children grow into strong adults without his guidance that they thought that they needed. [break][break]
He lived in the Kingdom of Airen for a while, however, most things were not made for his size and he yearned for the open outdoors. He made a few dwarven friends but eventually left. From then on, he has moved from place to place, never finding anywhere to settle without his pack.
