Zander was still stunned from the previous battle. Apparently, he had won, and now he had to fight again. He protested that, feeling bad about Captain Waters, but his jailors weren't listening. Once more, they shoved the leather vest at him, his cutlass, and the same pair of shoes he had tried to wear last time. Apparently, going barefoot in the arena with the footwear became something of his symbol, as he was the boy who stumbled in, half-refusing to fight, and yet winning the match anyway.
Giving a groan to his predicament, Zander dragged himself out of the tunnel, posture and expression crestfallen. His crystal eyes darted about the area, flicking over the crowd as he walked further in. A few moments later, his opponent arrived, getting a resigned sigh out of the young merman. Right hand going for his blade, he unsheathed the cutlass, while he held the shoes in his left.
"L-look. I don't really want to fight, sir." Zander said to his opponent once they were within decent earshot of eachother. "C-can't we do this another way? A friendly game of cards, maybe?" He asked, tone hopeful. Even though he was just as bad at cards, he'd rather go with that than possibly get killed here.
