YOU MAY SAY THAT I'M
BREAKING YOUR MIND
IN MY OPINION YOU'RE MUCH TOO KIND
He continued on, paw prints leaving their mark into the dirt below as he paced. What Felix said almost made him laugh, a wolf-ish laugh considering that they don't usually in animal form. Still, he looked back at his son, golden eyes peering at him in amusement as his teeth flashed from a smile. "Oh my dear boy, I could lower my expectations and we could hunt something far smaller. Although I thought you would be up for a challenge," he said, continuing to walk as he spoke in a teasing voice. He was rather disappointed in his son's answer however, he thought that he might be as strong as his father. He guessed not.
As they continued Farkas could see no signs of any ground life, other than a small squirrel that had already made its way up and into a tree. It would be far too late to hunt that, so Farkas ignored it. Though, he was intrigued by what Felix said about the prey that got away. It wasn't intentional was it?
"Come on my lad," he said, his voice filled with curiosity. "You can tell your old father anything. How could a hunt be unintentional? Please, I'm all ears." He slowed his step, walking casually as he wanted to hear a story. He wondered why he didn't wish to talk about it. Was it a person? How could that be unintentional? Well, Farkas had unintentionally killed his own wife... but other than that every other person had been intentional. But, he didn't suspect that Felix would have had the same problem as he did way back then. He was angry at his wife. His rage that boiled over a few decades as he began to notice the shift in wealth among the clan. To this day he still didn't know if it was her intention or not, but immortals were greedy nonetheless.
But, he wondered if this had anything to do with that woman he encountered. The one that went by Wren, who claimed to be searching for her father. Supposedly her mother had cuts ties with him. Farkas couldn't remember the whole story, but he was certain he didn't hear all about it. But, suspecting that it could have been a repeat of events all over again, the wolf attacking the mother, was something far from his mind.
