He figured she wouldn’t find it too appealing but at least it cured her curiosity for the time being. He chuckled quietly as he pulled the spoon back in the bowl. Setting it down on the other side of him he turned just a little to better face her. He listened as she spoke excitedly about reading and then asked if he read. ”All kinds of things.” he said nodding. ”I enjoy a good book by the fire but most of the time it has something to do with the boring stuff of the castle.” He didn’t get time to read for pleasure anymore but when he did it was great.
The look of distress on her face though caused him to feel all kinds of things. It seemed all too familiar with his own dealings and he could only imagine just how she felt… her and Kamaria both. She said that the father – Felix – hadn’t been the one to leave but she did because he was upset. A frown formed on his features but he nodded. It seemed a little foolish to him but it wasn’t his place to tell her that. ”Well you had to do what you thought was best.” he lifted a hand and laid it on her shoulder giving it a small squeeze.
The subject on his father and mother though wasn’t one he really wished expanding on. Both of his parents didn’t know much about ‘parenting’ and he promised himself that if he did ever have kids he wouldn’t end up like them. He would be as present as possible setting time aside for his son or daughter. ”Yeah I suppose.” He was sure he probably wouldn’t exist if the future of the throne didn’t depend on it. Both his parents weren’t kid people. Her next question though caused his brows to rise a little and it was about then another set of footprints had come back into the kitchen. On a plate was a slice of strawberry sponge cake slathered in strawberry syrup with a type of cheese cake in the center. It was placed on the table as soon the rest of the cake had been brought out. Both of the servers bowed their heads and backed out. ”Looks like your order arrives. Once you finish your piece we can head to the mages.” He said. ”But as for your question it’s not really fighting on top of a horse with two people. Basically you are riding and if you have a weapon you swing it like you would if you were standing on the ground. The only difference is, is you are riding at the same time.”

Larkin smiled at him when he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. However that smile would grow by volumes when her plate of food would come into view. Once the two servants backed away Larkin would reach over to take the plate and set it on her lap. Her fork cutting a large hunk of the cake free and pushing it into her mouth in a less than lady-like way. The syrup would leave a dark smudge on one side of her mouth. But Larkin looked ecstatic. "This is sooooo good!" She said cheerfully and shoved another bite into her mouth. Then realizing she was being rude when the prince had offered her a bite of his she got him a bite onto her fork as well and moved it toward his mouth in an offering. Of course, she didn't push it into his mouth unless he agreed.
She was practically vibrating with a cherry happiness. "I think I would fall." She said around a mouthful of strawberry goodness... Somehow managing to look thoughtful and clueless at the same time. "You must be strong to be able to do that." It hardly took any time for her to polish off the remainder of the cake and once it was gone she groaned softly in the manner of someone who had eaten too much but was utterly happy with their decision. Now she just needed a nap. That would make her happy as a kitten with a ball of string. But she couldn't really sleep here. That would have to wait.
She wiped at her eyes and tried to stifle the yawn that escaped her lips with a soft squeak. Blinking she looked back to Ezra. Appearing a little tired but satisfied. "Thank you for that, it was perfect. Where do I go to see the mages?"
