Appearance:
In human form Jema is a lithe woman. Slender but with womanly curves and a smattering of freckles over her pale flesh. Her eyes are a soft grayish green hue that seems to shift with her moods. Jema's hair is medium length and a mess of shaggy curls, dark brown nearly black in hue. Her legs and hips are covered in an assortment of scars. The majority long and appear to be from a whip of some kind. They do transfer over to her horse form although they aren't as readily evident. In horse form Jema is a flea bitten gray that resembles an arabian. Her eyes are large, and brown. Her coat is white with flecks of black and gray. Her mane and tail are ivory and the locks are straight and thin. She doesn't appear sturdy enough to do farm work with her dainty limbs and refined overall appearance.

Personality:
Quiet and submissive. Jema has spend that last 70 years of her life as a horse. Unable to communicate even as a normal were can. This has caused great pain for her and made her feel very alone in the world. Before the death of her family and being locked into her horse form her life was very difficult. It shaped her into a reserved fearful woman who expects the worst and isn't foolish enough to hope for more.

History:
Many years ago when the war was still in full swing the Slade house fell under the control of a powerful Dwarven noble. Being werebeasts as they were they were collared and used in any way needed. The predators became attack dogs. The prey decoys, or for beasts such as Jema - mounts. Before being captured and overthrown Jema's life had been easy. Her family was loving and she was a young adult looking to start the rest of her life. A werebeast wouldn't easily die as a normal horse would. Wouldn't tire as quickly. Wouldn't shy away from danger as fast. The dwarves had various pieces of metal enchanted to keep their werebeasts from shifting, keep them from reaching out to others even mentally. Forcing their animal half to be their only form with something as simple as a piercing they couldn't reach or a collar they couldn't break.
[break][break]
For Jema the solution was easy. A small nail that would be tacked into her hoof. Unobtrusive and not evident to most farriers unless they knew to search for it. They wanted their beasts to stay in their useful form, as humans they were even harder to control. Years passed. So many years being ridden into battle. The bite of the whip, and the dig of spurs. Watching her brethren fall as they fought for a king they didn't serve. They were prisoners of war, slaves turned into tools to be wielded as the dwarves saw fit.
[break][break]
Eventually the war did end and to avoid possible repercussions the remaining members of her family clan were sold, traded, or simply put down. Jema was one of the lucky ones. Being an equine who appeared to all to be nothing more than a beautiful horse she was easily sold and the coin added to their already hefty fortune. One could hope that after the war her life would have been better. But Jema knew better than to hope for such a thing. She cant even remember how many times she has been sold and traded. But one thing has changed about her since she was free of the dwarves. She has refused to take another rider. Something he has paid for many times.
[break][break]
She has lost all hope of escaping her own prison. Recently falling into the hands of a noble family of humans. A life she expects to be no less painful than anything she has experienced so far.
