| He head never seen himself as much of a mentor. If anything he was the very person people attempted to stay away from. It wasn't so much because of his job, no one besides his clients knew about that, but it was because he wasn't exactly the friendliest person to deal with. Most compared him to a grumpy old man who had a shot gun for kids that came onto his lawn. He wasn't exactly displeased with that description either. However much to his displeasure, there is a few that slip through the cracks.... one being the wolf who sought him out. A friendship had somehow built between the two of them. Maybe it was their simple understanding and respect of one another. Romeo didn't push her nor did she try to with him. Instead for each other, they seemed to be a nice outlet. A person to turn to when they needed to talk most.
It had actually been a while since he had heard from his dear friend Branwen. To say he wasn't shocked when he heard a word of her seeking him out would be a lie. It'd been months since he last saw the little werewolf. He was actually she did reach out. He seemed to be having some of his own problems... problems circling around a mermaid. After getting knocked out of the boat and taken below the depths to her home, he had to say he was feeling far more conflicted than when he and Noelle originally met. He didn't delve too much into his own feelings much but whenever he had been around this particular mermaid she seemed to stick with him. It was annoying. He didn't want to think about her, he didn't want to have dreams of her, he didn't want to have the urge to draw her.
Golden optics actually stared at the blank piece of paper he had in front of him. His hand wanted to draw the woman but his eyes were wanting to capture the serene environment. There had already been a couple crumpled pieces next to him where he had failed in doing so. Leaning back against the rock, he finally lowered his legs to where they remained out stretched in front of him. Golden green eyes now stared towards their surroundings. He couldn't scent Branwen in the area anywhere so she must have not quite reached yet. The only thing he could hear was the waterfall that sat close by into a pool below the rocks he sat on. He liked being here. It was a nice place to sort of level himself out and for once feel at peace. If he knew his wolf friend, her reaching out to him meant she was stressed.... and what better way to release that stress than in such a calming environment?
His secret little get away.

Nothing had gone the way Branwen might hope it would. She had completely lost control of her wolf as of late. She had bitten a man who had been nothing but kind to her and then ran away in shame. She had killed two humans, and eaten of of their hearts. She had stumbled upon her mate and in the end nearly killed him as well after the bite she had given him became infected. She was snapping at everyone like a terrified cornered mongrel who had no where left to turn. Maybe those humans had been right about her. Maybe she was more wolf than human.
Connor had returned to the the Imfala castle where he was the commander of the immortal army. And as hard as it was to see her mate leave, to feel that connection between them stretch thin and taunt. She also knew that their relationship was not one that she would ever truly find contentment in. He had saved her life and the mate bond had instilled an unbreakable love in her heart for him. But it did not run both ways. He had said she could contact him if she wanted but she was yet to. It was hard to have something you wanted so close and yet impossibly out of reach.
And of course there was the whole...almost killing him thing. He said he wasn't easy to kill and ignored that she could hurt him in its entirety. But she was a werewolf and she had already nearly killed him once. Distance was safest for him. Even if it made it hard for her to breathe. And Enzo? She hadn't even seen him since that fateful day weeks ago when she had gotten so carried away and bitten his neck. There had been a connection she felt with him...an understanding or as he called it a respect for her. But what would he think of her now? The dangerous beast she had become? She already knew she couldn't trust herself around him. Even with the bond to her mate she knew she would be tempted by him. By the sweet nature that was so in contract to her own nowadays. For his safety as well she had to stay away.
She had to stay away from everyone that wasn't like herself. That left her father. Who as much as she loved him wasn't really who she would chose to spill her love life woes to. And Romeo. Who she hadn't seen in what felt like forever. She had sent word to him that she was coming and eventually managed to track him down. Her pale eyes flitting up to his face that seemed so focused on his sketching. She didn't come out and say hello immediately. Not wanting to interrupt. Instead she waited until he relaxed and added another wadded up sheet to his small pile.
Branwen stepped out from the cover of the shadows and walked over to him and without so much as a hello she knelt down to pick of one of his discarded papers. "Mermaid on the brain?" She ask with the hint of a smile then dropped it back down to the pile that she would plop down unceremoniously beside. Romeo was a grump but his growl didn't bother her in the least. She could snarl back just as readily. She sighed and leaned her head back so that the back of her head rested against his leg. Just relaxing in knowing that she had some company now that she couldn't kill. "Whats going on? I haven't seen you so flustered about a woman before." Her voice trailed off teasingly. It was nice to focus on something other than her problems for once.

| He saw her before anything else as she moved around to grab one of the crumpled up pieces of paper. An annoyed expression made itself known on his face. ”Shut up.” he grunted. It was obvious that it was the truth as he couldn’t very well deny it. There was no denying it. She dropped it back where it was as she soon flopped to the ground, laying to where her head rest softly on his legs.
At her question he shrugged. ”I am not flustered.” he frowned. ”Shes just… someone I met and I just got this Image in my head that I am trying to capture and I can’t.” More like he couldn’t do her justice not now. Not since he saw the real deal. There was nothing that could capture such beauty. He didn’t want to admit that it was because he didn’t know how to deal with whatever it was he was feeling. He liked control. He thrived off of it. Noelle was anything but control. He didn’t feel things for people and the closest thing he had was Branwen, herself. That was only some sort of small wolf unification that settled the wolf in him down for wanting to be around his own kind.
Setting his pencil now behind his ear, his eyes rested easily on her face. ”You look worse for wear and from your message you sounded like you had some bottled up stress.” He said. ”You okay?” he supposed she would tell him if she wanted to but the only thing he needed to know right now was that his friend was alright. Even if it was just his presents that she wanted to sit in that was fine with him. He didn’t need to know her problems if she didn’t want to share them. It kind of went both ways. The two wolves were connected in knowing they had each other for silent support if it was needed. He frowned and quietly lowered his head back to the stone. ”My drawing skills have seemed to gone right out the window.” he chuckled softly. Absently he let his fingers move the hair from the sides of her ears and tucked them behind them. ”I’m glad to see you are still in one piece.” he teased.

Her eyebrows rose skeptically but from where she lay it was possible he wouldn't see. "If you say so." She said with a shrug, obviously unconvinced. Had he found his mate perhaps? If so she hoped it worked out better than her mate bond was. "She must really be something." She plucked a piece of grass from the ground beside her and began tearing it into tiny pieces. Her blue eyes falling closed and a sigh slipping past her lips when he ask if she was alright. Truthful answer was hell no. "I've been better." She said softly.
She stared up at the evening sky then winced and turned her eyes away. The sun wasn't horribly strong but it still made her eyes pulse if she stared. "I'm sure your skills are fine, some things are just too beautiful to capture." How long had it been since she had sketched anyway? The last time had been when she had drawn that immortal prince. So much had transpired since then. The tingling of her scalp when he moved her hair behind her ears made her look up at him. Her resolve to keep it all inside crumbling. "I need your help." She said at last and swallowed against the tide of emotions that crested until they nearly bubbled over. She tore at the blade of grass until there was nothing left and her hands fell limply to her sides.
"Umm...I bit this guy I was on a date with. I umm found my mate, killed two humans...may have eaten ones heart. Nearly killed my mate when I attacked him. And now hes back with the immortals." Her stomach clenched and Branwen took a long breath after saying everything in nearly one breath. "I've lost control of my wolf, I cant have my mate. So....no I guess I'm not really ok." She hated being such a big crybaby but Romeo was literally the only person she could whine to.
"I need you to help me learn to control my wolf because I don't trust myself...I'm going to end up killing someone...else. And I'm afraid this time it might be someone I care about and not just an asshole in a bar."

| Help The words echoed in his ears and he sat up a bit and looked down at her. Was he going to have to kill someone? Was she in that sort of trouble? There weren’t many people out there that he would go out of his way in ‘helping’ without a price but Branwen was definitely a friend that helped him become more leveled and at ease with hisself. If there was anything he had learned from her that it was okay to be who you were and the right people who accepted you would eventually come along and stay. She didn’t pick on him, she didn’t judge him… she was just….. A friend. A true friend and it was something he would honor with his life.
However as she began talking he couldn’t help but feel the tense muscles ready to spring into action, relax. So it was a wolf problem not a problem he was going to have to add to his bucket list. He chuckled quietly allowing the sudden wave of wrath calm back down into a tranquil sea. ”You found your mate, huh.” Though he was curious as to why she couldn’t have him? She started talking again with a small bit of desperation that he could identify quite easily. She wanted help in control. If anything he was probably the perfect person to come to. He had to live off of control. He had to live with a code that no one else would ever understand except he and his wolf. Of course the problem was how on earth could he explain those things to her without actually giving himself away as being an assassin? ”Well rest assured this doesn’t make you a killer….” he told her with a small smile. ”Just means we need to find your balance.” He spoke with an almost humorous zen voice. ”Just like ying and yang. You need to find the balance of your wolf with your human.” He sat up and nudged her so she could sit up too and pulled her a little to where she was now sitting in front of him. He sat Indian style. ”When I was younger… I had this problem too. My wolf wanted to control me. It wanted me to be more animal but that’s the problem… I’m not. I’m human too.” He grabbed her hands and held them with his. ”First lets clear this negative energy. Okay? Breathe in through your nose. Let your muscles relax, let your mind clear…. Just focus on breathing. Feel the air pushing from your abdomen up through your chest and out your nose and mouth. Focus on the point of your stomach at your belly button.” Was he going to meditate with her? No. He was just trying to clear her energy. Let her refocus for a minute and then they could start problem solving. He didn’t need her nose diving into a tail spin. ”you will probably feel your wolf resisting to calm down but that’s okay. She will just keep going until you literally feel at peace and at ease. Like… everything suddenly snaps into place. We got time.”
He continued watching her with a calm expression knowing well eventually her eyes would close once the peace started setting in. Once she started to feel at ease with herself. Once she did he started to speak again. ”Some were-beings are born with the natural adaption to the animal counterpart but there are a few select few who aren’t. It’s those who don’t attempt to control it and find a way to balance everything that gives us a bad name. You even asking for help obviously tell me your human side is already winning out.” He waited a little longer until she gave him the queue she was ready to continue on.

Branwen frowned at his sort of question. "Yeah...its not what I thought it would be. My mum and dad...it was so different. Not that I don't love him, its there. Nothing I can do to change it but its...." Her voice trailed away and Branwen clammed up before she said too much. Not that she didn't trust Romeo but giving way just who Connor was wouldn't be the best of ideas. She chewed on her lip and tried to ignore the pressure in her chest. Undoubtedly words bubbling up that wanted to escape. She had already thrown so much at him she was determined to keep the rest of it inside. She grumbled when he pushed her to sit up and moved to mirror his pose while siting in front of him although obviously skeptical.
She held his hands and slowly did as he bade. Cracking on eye open several times to see if he were making a big joke of things. But he appeared completely serious. And after several long breaths and even breathing that caused her wolf to stir restlessly she sighed. It took several minutes after that before the beast stopped pacing and Branwen's shoulders visibly slumped as her slender body relaxed. Her grip on his hands loosened and her eyes opened to peer at him. "So you have/had this problem too?" It was bad but she sounded almost hopeful. It was a shameful thing to not be able to control part of herself. She felt afraid of herself, never knowing when she might snap and loose all control.
Her hands clutched his a little tighter, the worry lines in her forehead deepening. "...what if I never learn to control it?"
