His words seemed to have a deeper meaning to them, one that Larkin quickly picked up on. She was well aware of the prejudices of many. It was why her brother had always tried to get her to keep here were side under wraps. It was why she had been dragged through Cendra without a guard lifting a hand to help her. She by all accounts, shouldn't exist. Or at least that was what she had been told. Her shoulders bowed a bit under his heavy gaze and her own darted away like that of someone subservient. But even with her submissive nature, she was curious. The soft question belaying the worry she felt. "Why would you show me your butt?"
He explained to her the importance of the books he was trying to retrieve and her large eyes widened a little more. "Then we need to get them." She said firmly. It didn't mean she wasn't afraid of what could happen, she was certainly not a warrior by any stretch of the word. But something that could hurt so many people couldn't just be left in dangerous hands. Her gaze had shifted to him when he spoke but at the mention of her race again Larkin's eyes darted downward. She didn't speak but licked her lips and mentally steeled herself for what was about to come. She stepped back and forth, lifting one cold bare foot from the ground and then the other.
He finally agreed to let her help and Larkin smiled, the light coming back to her eyes despite her earlier concerns. She would try to make herself useful to him. She nodded, having no argument with his words. She knew nothing of combat. She would do as she was told. He turned back to her and Larkin hesitated mid-step. "All four-" The realization hit her hard and Larkin turned bright red, her neck and chest now a brilliant pink as well. "T-thats not nice." She said while clutching the coat tighter around herself. Thoroughly embarrassed. If Dorian would step into the cave Larkin would shadow him. Stepping where he stepped when she could. Her bare feet nearly silent on the smooth stone.
((so sorry this is horribly short, trying to get back into my rhythm <3 ))

At the question Dorian smiled as he turned away from her, "Well, I'm sure we can find a reason for me to show you a great many parts of my body." Whether or not he would actually follow through with his innuendos was really anyways guess. Sometimes he made the flirtatious sexual comments because he was serious. Other times he made them because... He was Dorian... and he was awake. Those were often times the only reasons he needed.
The large mage slowly made his way into the darkness, refraining from letting out a small chuckle at the woman's next comment, "Lass, I have been accused of a great many things in my life..." His voice lowered to a deep whisper as he glanced back to make sure she was following him, "...being nice was never one of them, and I try not to break that streak." With that he gave a slight wink as he took a step deeper into the darkness.
Winding their way through a small passage they eventually came around a small bend in flickering light could be seen further ahead. The dancing candle and fire light cast shadows about an open cavern wall. Inside there were at least four dark figures moving around, whispering, "They're coming in. I heard them... Is it really that tracker?" Dorian motioned for Larkin.
"Can you sense any books?" He asked softly, barely above a whisper. He already had a plan. She was going to help him make sure nothing happened to the books, but that wasn't his only concern. These mages couldn't be left alive.
{{I could say the same for mine! Very rough post, sorry}}

A reason to show her his body? Well that was very confusing. She bit her lip and watched him with barely restrained curiosity. Had they not been on a mission to get his books back she would have likely peppered him with questions. As it were he was moderately safe from her questions. She followed him when he stepped into the darkness. Her fingers reaching out to pinch the fabric of his shirt in between two digits to make sure she didn't lose him. "You seem nice." She argued and then paused, a more hesitant answer following. "As long as you aren't healing someone....then you are not so nice."
Larkin crept along at his side until the voices reached her. She froze then, her movements catching until he told her to come closer. She closed her eyes at question then nodded. "Two...I think. But I don't know if they are the right ones." She answered back, equally as softly. But apparently, their words had been heard by at least one of the mages. Suddenly a rolling fireball would slam into the wall between the two of them an send a shrieking Larkin back a couple steps with surprise.
The mage laughed from his hiding place in the darkness. "Now whats this? Did you bring an ELF to help you? Tsk tsk. Somone's getting desperate." His voice was practically sing-song quality and with another soft click, the second handful of fire generated and flung at the duo again. Larkin fell back with quiet sqeak and looked to try to see Dorian.
