”That’s great news.” he said tipping his head with a grin on his face. He was very relieved he hadn’t entirely hurt her. It would have been the last thing he had wanted to do but at the same time he was glad he had done it. She seemed so lighter now and not nearly as weighted down by her terrible memory or that darkness she let enter her heart. Needless to say he would have some choice words to say to Connor – if he remembered his name right – if he ever saw him. Part of him though hoped it wouldn’t come to that and the man would leave her alone. He didn’t seem to have had much use of her anyways at least from what he could see from the memories, such a shame too. Branwen despite her flaws and quick reactions of a wolf…. Would have made someone a decent woman.
He watched as she maneuvered her way between and held himself still so he didn’t immediately help. No. She needed to do this. He gripped the bottom of his chair as he watched her reach her place a crossed from him. She quickly snatched up the muffin and he chuckled. ”I brought it for you anyways. Help yourself.” He said as he sunk back in his chair. Jade eyes were heavy with sleep exhaustion. Worrying himself for the woman a crossed him did him no favors. ”Sorry I didn’t get you any meat though. I wasn’t sure how long you would be out and I didn’t think cold possibly hard meat sounded very appetizing.” he snorted as he tipped his body a bit in the chair resting his head on his closed fist. Not trying to watch her as she was eating, he allowed his eyes to close for the time being.
Her question caused him to open an eye and look at her before shaking his head. ”No.” he said. ”But I will be alright. I am just glad you seem to be healing from…. Whatever it was that was going on.” He allowed his eye to shut again as he sat in silence.

Branwen happily munched on the muffin as soon as permission was given. Devouring it in two rather unladylike bites. She looked up at Enzo who seemed rather exhausted. Alternating between laying his face against his hand and leaning back in the chair. Her fingers curled around the cup of orange juice which disappeared almost impossibly quickly. She brushed her lips with the back of her hand, hopefully wiping away any food that might linger there.
”You should have rested…” She chided softly. She watched him a little longer before she pushed her chair back and slowly made her way around the table, around him. Her arms reaching around him gently to wrap around his shoulders and pull him back into an embrace. ”I know I can’t understand what all you did for me…even if you explained it. But thank you.” She leaned in so that her lips could press softly against his cheek. Moving back to his ear that she would lightly graze with her teeth before resting her head gently against his own. ”Come rest.”
She stepped back then, a little too quickly and had to catch her balance with the back of his chair. Her hand reached out to slip down his arm and settle against his palm. Her fingers gently squeezing his own. ”Hows your head? That time on the beach it bothered you pretty badly….that accidental brush. I can only assume this would be worse.” She tugged his hand to try to convince him to follow her. Leading him toward that bed that she had been hogging for the past two days. She would attempt to push him back onto it with a soft growl. She blushed immediately after the sound.
No, this wasn’t like that. He needed rest. She reached out to him to gently cup his face. She blinked against her still blurry vision but she could still see him just as plain as day. She couldn’t have forgotten Enzo if she wanted to. ”I’m alright, you should sleep before you pass out.”

”Chiding me for being worried.” he snorted softly at her. He wasn’t sure what he could have done if she had stopped breathing. Wasn’t like he knew very much in resuscitation but he wouldn’t have forgiven himself if he had fallen asleep on the watch either. He remained quiet even though he could hear her pushing the chair back. The gentle touch on him caused his dull jade eyes to open and stare into those beautiful pale ones of Branwen's. She tugged him in and he willingly followed her lead as she leaned and pressed her leaps into his cheek. ”Welcome.” he said. His breath was a little caught in his throat and though he desperately wanted to look her in the eyes, there was more life there than when she couldn’t see. He just got her back. He couldn’t risk losing her again. He felt the graze against his ear and returned it with one of his own.
”Careful. We don’t need you busting your ass too.” he snickered as he lazily lifted himself up to his feet. Between being restless with a resting Bran and checking on Jema, his feet ached. He should have stayed off of them and remained patient but it wasn’t his strongest trait. If anything reminded himself that he should be patient only made the matter worse. He scooted along with her towards the bed until she nudged him backward. She gave a soft growl and he could definitely see the pink coming to her cheeks before cupping his face. ”Truthfully it wasn’t all that bad. I met someone who had….. helped me understand it a little better. I’m still not very good at controlling it and it still makes my head feel like it’s being tossed around in the ocean but I suppose it’s better than nothing.” He lifts his hands and rests them on her hips and he tugged her. He didn’t want to rest. He actually wanted to enjoy being able to be with Branwen again. She just wouldn’t understand that though.
Tugging her back onto the bed with him he leaned backward and scooted more up on the bed. ”I should but I don’t really want to. You are awake and I want to spend time with you.” she’d been out for almost two days and he had done his best to wait it out. The anticipation was killing him. ”I will be okay for a little longer. Humor me.” he said as he leaned in and nuzzled her gently. ”Please?” He grinned.

"Really? Thats great Enzo. I'm happy for you." He had been so stressed about his ability before. So afraid of hurting someone. His hands settled on her hips and Branwen felt another growl bubbling in her throat, this one she just barely managed to stifle. He pulled her with him and she didn't resist. She stumbled a bit, her balance not completely there. But Enzo's chest caught her. She should have probably moved away...but she didn't want to. His words made her smile. She fumbled to pull herself up on the bed further. One knee settling beside each of his hips. She leaned in to place a gentle kiss on his lips. A growl escaping her when he nuzzled against her neck.
"I think I would like that." She murmured against his cheek. She reluctantly sat up and fiddled with the hem of his shirt, the top of his pants. Nervous movements. Tracing the patterns. "I want to sketch you." She said softly. "Not now..I cant see too well right now. But soon...I want to sketch this look on your face. The way your green eyes change when you look at me." She didn't look at him as she spoke. The words were a little embarrassing as it was. She gripped his shirt a little tighter and her throat tightened. "I was a bad person...wasn't I?" She frowned and shook her head. "No...don't answer that."
Her nearly translucent pale eyes moved up to his handsome face again. "It seems like you've been ok then. Leaning how to use your ability better. Thats a big step." She smiled then frowned. Remembering odd bits and pieces of her mate and how she knew him. Parts seemed...missing. But there was a darkness there, like an ominous feeling to beware. One of her hands rose to rub at her temple.
"From what I can remember I've done...nothing good." She scoffed and shook her head but froze when it made her dizzy. "But you didn't give up on me." At least that she knew of. She wriggled a little and settled down onto the bed beside him. Curled against his side with her head on his shoulder and her leg bent over his own in a relaxed pose. Being with Enzo always felt so...easy. She made small designs on his shirt with her finger, her mind filled with muddled thought. "Are you...with someone now?" It felt wrong to ask. But she needed to know. She shouldn't act the way she was tempted to if he had someone waiting for him when all he had been trying to do was be a good friend to her.

The pressure of her on his lap was making it increasingly hard to pay attention to anything else. He kept his breathing steady but his heart was thumping hard against his chest cavity making him feel a little breathless. He was doing his best to keep that under wraps but it was steadily becoming harder. The moment she pressed her lips into his own, he made it a point to put pressure on it. Leaning up and into her kiss as hands fought to keep to his sides. He knew he shouldn’t touch. He knew he shouldn’t be taking advantage of this situation but he had waited a long time. He had gone through her psychotic stages in hopes of her getting her head back on straight. Fought with her in his head to get her out of it but failed miserably. Unfortunately, he had to help her with it and since she couldn’t officially remember what all went on, he felt like he was taking advantage of her. He knew he wasn’t. he knew she asked….. but the problem was he could remember everything where she couldn’t.
Once she sat up though he could feel the urges start to simmer to a more controllable level. His jade eyes though were bright green with excitement and controlled anticipation. ”Sketch me?” he repeated her words finally coming to him that didn’t sound like a stereo on blast. ”If you must just make me beautiful, okay?” he grinned but it steadily faltered as she spoke once more. He lifts a hand and softly pressed it into the side of her cheek as he stared up at her. ”Your actions don’t make up for who you really are. It was a rough patch is all.” he said. ”And if it comes back we will deal with it together.” He ran his thumb over her cheek. He wasn’t letting her disappear on him again this time. If he hadn’t of let her run off from him on the beach none of this probably would have happened. She would be fine and in one piece and not feel like she has some shadow looming over her. ”I won’t let you go through that alone again.” he knew now where his place was to be and that place, for now, was to be with Branwen.
Of course, there was still the matter she was mated and that could become a hassle but unless she looked him square in the face and said she didn’t want him…. He would be there. ”not really.” he said. ”I lost my job but I made up for it with working with my sister, Solara.” He was sure she wouldn’t know about Solara…. He didn’t even really know much having just found her. ”Her ranch though burned down and I am helping her make repairs and fixing the place up and she wants me to be a trainer there.” he gave a small shrug and allowed his eyes to close for a moment as Branwen slid down into his side. He wrapped an arm around her and idly allowed his fingers to draw up and down along her side. ”Other than that I have been a rather boring person.” he moped was what he meant in only so many words. ”I couldn’t seem to get this she-wolf out of my head for some reason.” he glanced down at her with a playful smile before resting his head back again. ”Of course not. Unfortunately for you biting me and growling at me wasn’t that much of a deterrent. You probably should have tried harder if that was the case.” that or he was just plain dumb.
Her next question made him arch a brow for a moment. ”No. I seem to be good a picking up people to help though.” He was pretty good at being friend zoned. ”I have a friend right now that is more horse than human. She’s sweet but very skittish. I do my best to help her but she has some demons even I don’t know how to slay. Or I could but I doubt she wants me running around in her head misplacing things.” He snorted softly. ”Besides having already done that for you…. I probably shouldn’t for awhile anyway.”

She rolled her eyes, she couldn't help it. "I think someone already made you beautiful, Enzo." She murmured. When he reached up to touch her cheek she leaned into his palm. Icy blue eyes peering intently into his bright green ones. "Alright." She smiled hesitantly, one hand reaching up to slip over the back of his hand. She reluctantly lifted her cheek away only so that she could place a kiss upon his palm. "I trust you." She had slid against his side then. Curled against him as she relaxed. She couldn't remember him mentioning a sister but it was possible the memory was just a little displaced. "I'm glad you had someone to be there for you but I'm sorry you lost your job." She had the strangest inkling that she had been the cause of it but with no memories to support it she pushed the thought away.
She grinned when he looked at her, saying he couldn't get her out of his head. It made her feel like there were butterflies in her chest. A strange excitement that felt so....normal. She didn't think she had experienced much 'normal' in a while. "Maybe I didn't really want to." She retorted, after finding that she was arching into his touch like a damn cat she forced herself to remain still. Trying not to focus on the way his fingers made her skin come alive. He arched a brow at her question and Branwen felt her cheeks burn. Immediately she looked away and busied herself with drawing an intricate pattern with her finger on his stomach. Embarrassing...
"You always help everyone." She spoke up. Even her and she was certain she had not been all that nice. "Don't push yourself too hard..." She said carefully. Not wanting to sound pushy but also concerned. How much could Enzo take? It was something that weighed on him, she knew that much. "But if you do I'll be here to return the favor. Until you get bored of that she wolf who is a little nippy." She stretched so that she could kiss his cheek. "There must be something I can do for you. I feel like you've given me my life back." A short laugh. "And I was the one who stole it." Her hands crept beneath his shirt, lips moving from his jaw down to his neck. She could feel his heart thrumming there and growled softly. But unlike before she didn't lose control, it was just exciting.
"I was just asking because I know how I am, around you. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable or step on anyone's toes because I was kissing their guy." She felt slightly less embarrassed after explaining herself. Or maybe it was just that with his skin against her lips, his scent in her nose, she hardly cared.

She trusted him was what she told him and somehow a little bit of him felt guilty. He was not so much of a hero as she thought of him being but more or less he wasn’t there for her as much as he would have liked to. He didn’t abandon her but he didn’t go out of his way either. It also didn’t help matter that a lot of them time he didn’t know where he stood with her. She often pulled him in and held him in suspension only to end up dropping him again. As she spoke he gave her a nod but his mind was busy watching the path his fingers fell over her curves. Every inch of her he wanted to touch and explore and he was doing his best to refrain from doing so. He didn’t want to get swept up into the matter all over again just to have her tell him no much like the night on the beach. ”I didn’t until recently.” he said. ”I probably should have gone to her first anyways but eh you know… stubborn male pride.” He tipped his head down a bit and kissed at her fingers as she drew on his chest. ”Well you definitely didn’t.”
He wasn’t sure what it was that was so hypnotizing about her but there was something just there. As hard as he tried to look at it in a very analytical way, he couldn’t. She had a hold on him that he spent months trying to overcome. It drove him into a mad rage towards the end primarily because he knew it was just over. Her words caused his to arch a brow. ”If I don’t, who will?” he asked. There weren’t very many helpful people out there but he wanted to be a part of that change in the world. A start to a positive ripples through society because if he helped one person then they would hopefully carry on and help another should the time come. ”Bored? If I wanted to get bored I would have while you dipped out on me a few times. A person doesn’t stick around when they feel like they are being played. I just had a hard time doing that. You kept me for whatever reason.” he said quietly as she leaned up and kissed his cheek. She asked if there was something she could do and he shook his head no. ”Just be you.” he said with a gentle smile. ”Even if I can’t have anything else I still enjoy your company.” But he couldn’t promise he would always keep his hands to himself either.
Soon she started to let her hands roam and he felt every nerve ending burn in her wake. Her lips were soon creeping along his jaw and down to his neck. His breath was starting to get caught in his throat as eyes fell shut. ”You are free to do as you please.” his voice was low and hushed as she breathed against his skin. She was causing some emotions to rise to the surface and in that instant he sat up a little and started to return what she was doing to him. His fingers traced and ran over hips and up acrossed her abdomen. Kisses lay just beneath her jaw bone before eventually claiming her lips. He leans forwards tugging on the button of her jeans.

His words were kind, his very presence intoxicating. He had always had an effect on her that she couldn't truly understand, a drive to be closer. "You can have me." She spoke against his skin. Not meaning just physically. But she wanted to be there for him, he was so selfless. Someone needed to be there to make sure he didn't give and give until there was nothing left of him. He shifted, sitting up slightly and curling down to her. His touch teasing and light but making her feel like she was on fire. When he claimed her lips there was no turning back, she couldn't have even if she wanted to. She had to have this. She wanted it. Needed it, since that night on the beach when things had been cut so short. She pressed against him, her lips hungrily meeting his own. And this time when his touch drifted lower she didn't push him away but rather wriggled her hips as if to help him. Her hands falling to his clothing as well.
This wasn't going to be slow and gentle. She felt a strong need, so foreign and overpowering that if Enzo had walked away from her right then she just might have attacked him outright. She wriggled closer and pulled at his shoulder to encourage him to come to her. Her blue eyes closing against the urgency of the kiss. There was no holding back this time. No fear.
